Talk About Westclox Big Ben Style 4

welcome back to Southern Phan Telecom sites.google.com site SL Southern Phan Telecom and sites.google.com viiew for/ central office tnet now with that out of the way um this is not going to be a telecom related video those who know me know I like old things in addition to telephones um I've got some clocks that not really a clock collector but I like old things so yes I've got some old clocks and I'll show them once again on this video but that's not really what this video is about what it's about is I'm going to put pause this video and get some better light going but you can almost see what it's going to be about all right to the left is a West clock's Big Ben this is the style 4 the style 4 was made in between 1934 to 1939 so far it's keeping extraordinarily good time I've got it next to and synchronized to the clock next to it which is a big band repeater style 8 style 8 were made between um 1964 to 1981 um the style 8 to the right I'm got there because I'm keeping an eye on both um I just picked the one up on the left to the at an antique store uh um what I did to make sure that it still worked I set I looked at the timer on on the clock on my uh phone I wound the clock this one I wound it and gave it 10 minutes went around um look around in the store and came back and if the 10 minutes was up it was still running I would buy it so that's what I did um I've tested the alarm part of it this is the chime version but and the alarm works and so far it has not stopped um it's keeping excellent time we'll see in the morning um we've got a few more clocks coming and I may or may not do another video on that but while we're on that subject I will show you um a few more of the clocks and then end the video but so far that's a cool find it's in extraordinarily good shape something noteworthy this is a style 8 made very well-made clock a repeater this one was made in Scotland this is significantly lighter than this this is very heavy the crystal on this is glass Crystal on that is plastic so let me show you a couple of the other clocks um I'm going to show you a bowl of a clock that's more of a modern clock that and the grandfather clock but I'm going to show you the B of A wall clock next stand [Music] by now I'm not going to get into the chiming on this because that was done in another video but that's the boliva and next I'll show you the um the grandfather clock stand by again The Grandfather's Clock is more modern it does keep excellent time um at any rate let me show you a general electric model 2808 kitchen wall clock and that's coming up next there's the kitchen wall clock it keeps excellent time runs very quietly that clock is in the telecon family it again it is a general electric had that for a good number of years and standby for the next one this one's another GE mantle clock I believe this one is from the early 30s um this one has been with me for a good number of years it was my grandmother's she had it for 50 son years I've had it for oh I know I said what it was in another video and I can't remember right now I believe uh 35 years maybe around there um I'm not sure if that's accurate or not but yeah 30 35 years so it's continued to work ever since my grandmother bought it new so the next one will be my 1950 something as I don't know the exact year um bedroom telon electric alarm clock standby that is the um bedroom I'll call it a bedroom alarm clock sorry about my finger in the way um it runs very quietly it works very well as far as the AL uh the alarm is concerned now that repeater that I showed you first um which isn't in here right now for obvious reasons is the backup and is put next to this clock in case the power goes out power goes out obviously that one's not going to work and the West clocks repeater will work so that's why I bought that I bought it as a backup for that reason and it is normally kept right there so the last clock I will show you is in the central office you've seen that particular clock on videos before please stand by I will give you one last look at those two that one right there and that's the GE telecon clock it I use it as a central office clock um classrooms back in the days probably this might have even been in a classroom type of a setting but again very quiet running clock never had any issues with it when I got it it was plug-and play um very large clock but I like it being where it is um so that's it on the clock collection um hope you enjoyed this video thank you for watching
