you know what I really liked about it is it had all of those uh scenes or those periods of his life that I always wanted to be a fly on the wall about or to see you know I was fascinated and I know a lot of people were about his Boyhood and Dixon about his uh you know his life behind the behind the camera it it Hollywood and what but on you know his first marriage with Jane Wyman uh his time is uh the president of the Screen Actors Guild all those things that added up to make Reagan who he was and be ready at you know the right time and place of History too to become president of of the United States and win the Cold War but uh that's I think there was a real hunger to to really kind of learn about Reagan again well I think yes I think she did admire him greatly before they met and she used to actually go to his sag uh talks and be in the audience and they'd never met um I think she was very enamored with him and um to her it didn't matter whether his career was on the rise or not really really yes honey um um and uh when she got the opportunity to meet him because there was he was sag president and a producer introduced them because there was a couple Nancy Davis's one was associated with the Communist party and she was very scared of being associated um to that and so they said you'll have the opportunity to meet Ronald Reagan and he can help you and she was like well that will be Dandy she was so excited so I think right off you know right out of the gate she was uh she was definitely into him but she had to be patient because he had had a failed marriage he was very torn up about it and I think it took him a while to realize he could trust Nancy and that she was devoted to him and I think that became the most powerful thing in not only their love and their relationship but that that's what helped him become governor and president is because of I think the Bond we had and the support that had and belief in Reagan so to sum up there would not have been a President Reagan without Nancy and that's true that's true she was like rock well I mean yeah it's pretty devastating when you lose and once again there was Nancy to say you know him living on the ranch this rap B Ranch very modest Ranch he loved horses he loved building fences but you it was Meandering around without living in retirement really and that really was not yeah for him he wasn't fulfilled and I think he realized he had a purpose that was greater than what he was doing with his life and she knew that she could see that and so it was Nancy that says you need to go do this this is your calling you you're a great man and I believe that you can do this and that belief I think helped catapult him in in the next stage when he actually won I think it was it was that infusing when a you have a great partnership that infuses your confidence in yourself and like you said it can help it it helps people become their best self when it's a good solid relationship so I think that was a big part of it well like what I said there wouldn't have been a President Reagan without Nancy she was his Rock and uh you know that was uh they had their own world that they live in and they needed that there was their privacy from the rest of the world I think to also be in that position of being such a public figure and knowing there's somebody that you can trust that has your back she was fiercely protective of him and he knew that and I think and she was willing she obviously gave up her acting career she didn't care about being in the Limelight of course she wore her fancy dresses and was a fashion all that but I think at the end of the day it was about him and and being there for for for Reagan for Ronald and uh and I think that was uh that's the beauty of the movie I think that's the heart of the film is seeing that love story and the rest you know is interesting and fun and and uh but I think that that's that's what made him what he became other than you know obviously his childhood and his mother and yeah
