thanks for your support a channnel member gerat 7046 we find ourselves bottom of the constructor's championship after the first two rounds of 2025 but we know that just a 17th Place finish would change all of that hi folks and welcome to a brand new episode of asgp here on F1 manager 2024 we're gearing up for the Japanese Grand Prix round three of the 2025 season now we have all the new parts available to us on both cars because if you remember back to China we didn't have well we we had new parts available but we split them across the two cars so both cars now have the new side pods and new suspension on we are also manufacturing a new set of chassis to put onto the car which will improve our top speed which you can see at the moment not great now to today's race in Suzuka requires good high speed cornering reasonable medium speed cornering we are not good at medium speed cornering but we are good at high speed cornering so we should be somewhere where we normally are to be honest but hopefully we find ourselves slightly further forward than we were in the last couple of races uh there's not been much to tell you but what I will show you is how our two affiliate drivers have been getting on they've had one round of of Formula 2 to get their teeth stuck into that was in Melbourne and they didn't do very well they're both at high-tech GP which is where Paul Aon spent his time in Formula 2 and well Paul potato finished f is 15th after the first round and Justin anitus is 21st so neither of them are particularly happy about how things have gone but their next outing will be in Saka which is going to be the ne in the next episode and also in jeda but we're going to do those as a double episode that I'm committing to already so you get Japan today and then the next episode we'll have Bahrain and Saudi Arabia so we might sort of speedrun our way through those let's get to the more present concerns of Japan I'm going to get to practice make sure the drivers are happy with the setups and I'll see you in qualifying all right you join Me 2 and 1/2 minutes left on the clock in qualifying basically we're doing one run at the end of the session because we had a rain shower right in the middle of it and Fred V's only got one set of soft tires the computer's done a bizarre thing where it's only left him with one set of soft tires for qualifying really crazy Paul has got three which isn't well it's enough for us because we're only going to do uh probably one session but if we get through we've got if Fred gets through he's only got used tires available or mediums which we don't really want to use we are doing a double push lap so we will basically if we get through we will do this and then we will just simulate Q2 probably to see what happens uh will we get to the line in time we should get to the line in time there's going to be a little bit of traffic ahead of us in the shape of Science and that's piastri and pore so our second lap might be a little bit compromised hopefully not hopefully not let's see what this does for us we go 19th and Paul Aaron has gone 13th with that let's jump on board with Fred see how the traffic situation is for him oh he's going to catch them a terrible point and Paul's going to get them too get out of the way please everybody thank you very much I think H Paul is slower in the first sector than he was before that's not ideal but Fred is improving at the moment Paul Aon has out qualified Alex albon if Fred can deliver a good lap here we clear we get the saber out the way we're looking good improvements in both sectors for Fred Paul Aaron has gone faster than he has before in sector 2 so Fred needs to find a second to get himself into Q2 Paul Aaron is already there Fred vesty Goes 20th Paul Aaron stays 13th and and the Estonian out qualifies his more experienced at this level at least teammate he's actually ahead of hulkenberg and bartas so Fred will start 20th ahead of bman and Joe that's disappointing for him but at least we've got a car into Q2 right Q2 is wet and it's at its dest now you join us with less than 90 seconds left on the clock Paul Aaron is doing two laps although I'm not sure if we will get both of them in if we do a really quick lap then we might be able to get the second lap in as well at the moment we're obviously last cuz we haven't set a time we've got 50 seconds left to get this lap in we should be just about okay I think from here to get a second run in and as we come down to 130r we've got 20 seconds left we should just about get this in hopefully it's going to be like literally 1 second left on the clock here we go then Paul Aon goes 11th and we'll get the second lap in here we go can we get to Q3 we only need to find a 10th to dislodge Daniel Ricardo this would be a superb qualifying session for us uh we're down to 12th but we still need to find 310 here we go 34-1 for the first sector as uh I think piastre is now on the bubble that's not good for McLaren they'll want him in Q3 I'm guessing Bas is on an in laap he prob he probably is he is indeed Paul Aaron is going faster in both of the sectors so far that is the McLaren I think of piastri just no piastri is in the pit Lane it was Lando Norris ahead of us hopefully he didn't compromise us can we get to Q3 with Paul Aaron no I think the uh the McLaren got in our way yeah it completely screwed our final sector so we qualify 13th which is a really good starting position for us that's our best performance of the season so far in qual we were just under a 10th off of Ricardo yeah past stre just about survives two stop strategies all round today then it's medium medium soft for Paul Aaron as he goes from 13th on the grid and Fred vesty going from 20th goes medium hard medium under field one and two laps with each driver respectively uh Fred is the two laps under you can't see that actually behind my head and we both at 100% car setup satisfaction which begs the question why Fred didn't perform so well surely that should have given him more confidence but hopefully he can take confidence into the race and the strategy can play out well for him Paul should be very quick towards the end but hopefully we're not like way out of the picture if we finish 17 today ahead of H that will bring us ahead of the American team anything higher than that and we could be jumping two three maybe even four places in the Constructor Championship let's get to Suzuka and see what we can do in this motor race oh we actually have lights this time a lights Gantry has appeared in Suzuka and there's five red ones illuminated and the lights are out the race is on it's Oscar piastri who only just scraped through Q2 who's on pole position and Paul Aaron is in immediately into 12th Place he's challenging for 11th around the outside of Ricardo sorry that's Perez sorry I'm thinking last year Ricardo's actually in the Aston Martin Paul Aaron has got himself oh that's Perez off the track Paul Aaron's got himself into 11th Place Perez bro is cutting the corner and had to slow down Fred vesty has just about retained 20th position he was down to 21st at one point there but Paul Aaron is actually fighting for the points paying positions he's on the tail of Liam Lawson let's see what it looks like from on board Into The Hairpin can we send it no we're not close enough but vesty has just moved up ahead of Aron so that is fantastic news for us how did he do it into the DNA oh he's just gone full send into the DNA Corners Aron left the door open very sporting of him and through dner 2 Fred gets the job done excellent start for us absolutely excellent let's keep this going Lads Fred V's actually just moved up to 18th he's nailed Alex Alor into the haing around the outside as well that is a phenomenal overtake Fred is rediscovering his Mojo he's clearly extremely annoyed about how he's performed in qualifying and he's taken all of that Fury into the race Paul Aron does have DRS but he's dropping back from Lawson that's probably not our race so we'll just settle down he's got just over a second to uh best's up to 17th he's absolutely flying he's just past gazley he's absolutely ripping through this lot what tires are they on they're on softs so and well some of them are on mediums but yeah this is going great guns for us absolutely superb and Paul Aaron in 11th if he can stay there and someone up here has a problem we could be looking at some points today Paul Aon is doing a superb job he's now caught Liam Lawson who is in 11th place and we're going to go past the Alpine fantastic double Alpine overtakes by ahgp because Fred vest has just passed um Pier gazy we've got a virtual safety car Yuki sonoda is in the wall interesting interesting what do we do here s has crashed out of his home race for Red Bull [Music] oh he's just dropped it at dner to easily done his words not mine um right sow has an issue I think he does definitely a car isue Paul Aaron is 10th we are 10th in this race we're in a point scoring position now um I'm thinking actually we do something weird and wonderful with Fred ves's strategy Paul Aon can hold track position we've got other mediums we can use let's put on a set of softs we'll convert this to a three stop so Fred can be aggressive on his medium tires towards the end of the race let's do that hopefully there's another sort of intervention that helps this strategy play out this this could be a free stop for Fred and we'll bring Fred in for a fresh set of boots and then we'll come roaring back at this lot I forgot to bring him in whoops right I have absolutely dropped the ball here I changed his strategy then forgot to call him in for the pit stop so we are going to revert the strategy back to what it was uh hards on lap 19 mediums La 36 so we gained absolutely nothing from that all my good thoughts and Ambitions completely undone by the fact that I forgot to call the driver to the pit Lane clever me oh why is it just brought him into the pit Lane oh for game and why is it put mediums on him why is Fred on mediums oh my God I don't believe what's just happened did I did I call him in then change the St oh I've absolutely clowned this right we need to make this work go aggressive we need to make this work somehow all right actually this might work we've just massively undercut Pierre gastley who's gone to mediums as well so oh yellow flags Antonelli has crashed he's got major half the rear wing is missing what has happened to the young Italian uh I think charlot Clair might have some words to say to the youngster oh the Ferrari has absolutely been punted and is uh well the monagas is not going to be happy about that that's bad news for Mercedes that's really good news for for us because it's going to move us to eighth we're going to be well inside the points we're clear of Lawson and sence at the moment oh my God we we're going to get a nose bleed wait eighth [Music] eth oh if only we hadn't pooed the bed with Fred's strategy Paul Aon dives into the pit lane from p7 we've never been this far up the order actually ridiculous our pit stops have been phenomenal this season that one much less good um we're actually top of the pit stop charts and uh Paul comes out just behind his teammate actually so that's going to work reasonably well let's get Fred attacking on being aggressive on his tires and try not to hold up Paul because we they're on different strategies if Paul catches Fred we'll just ask him to get out of the way um or just rarely defend but at the moment Paul is under pressure from gazley who's on used mediums there's definitely a chance of a out there's an outside chance of points there's a chance of a very high non-points finish let's ask Fred to rarely defend this and at least make it easy for Paul Aaron to get the move done see they had their scrap last time out out in China towards the end of the race but this time it's really going to mean something because this could be crucial for the team we've dropped Pierre gazley so Fred needs to oh no oh no I don't believe what I've Just Seen Paul Aaron has crashed out at DNA 2 I don't believe what I've Just Seen he's wrecked the car that's going to be a complete write off um does this help Fred I don't know Paul was our big hope he was running a [Music] race I don't believe this all right all of our hopes now lie with Fred vesty he carried the burden for us last season and he's actually picking up the Baton brilliantly here is he going to go around the outside at one oh my God absolute mad man round the outside at 130r he's into 11th Paul would have been probably around Carlos science somewhere towards the end of the race but we'll never know now oh we've got another accident it's been a crazy race for accidents the two Aston Martins have got stuck into each other and Ricardo has tagged P I got I think you did the hitting there mate can we have a really nice Quick Stop yes we can 2.1 seconds that might be enough to top the build yeah we got first in the the Pit Stop rankings we are acing it in the pit Lane and this strategy might yet pay massive dividends for us he comes out in 19th but another VSC somewhere around lap 37 really would help us or a full safety car even we are challenging Sergio Perez we've got so much more grip round the outside of the V carb which is on hard tires and that is p7 the Mexican looking to fight back but he's unable to and now we're going to be charging after Val bartas as everyone else starts to make their pit stops so we're going to be fast now and then we'll stop in a few laps time this is always designed to be a short stint on the softs and then we can attack them on slightly better tires on mediums hopefully to snatch maybe something like 12th or 13th where Fred has roared up to the back of niik hulkenberg and we are bringing him in for his third and final stop on this lap if he manages to finish anything respectable after we completely screwed his strategy under the VSC then you know all the power to him because he's driven a incredible race I have no doubt that Paul Aaron would be somewhere around this as well yellow flags are out weird cut scene is on uh it's Oliver bman who has destroyed his car of the has collided no George Russell is involved what's happened here oh bman has slowed on the racing line and been taken out but that doesn't mean anything for us right this is where our fast pit stops could really pay dividends hulkenberg coming in for a stop he'll probably go to softs if we can get ahead of him because of the pit stops that would be fantastic salba known for their dodgy stops here we go we need a good stop 2.4 seconds yes we've got ahead of hulkenberg in the pit Lane absolutely beautiful and off we go we pop out in p15 not far but hopefully behind Z guu let's deploy some battery we have 5 seconds behind the vabb and let's drop hulkenberg we've got another virtual safety car Sergio Perez and Nico hulkenberg are out of the full safety car okay here we go do we have no ah if we' kept that fresh set of sauce for the end we'd have been absolutely banging business but it's a full safety car so ah this would have been absolutely beautiful for Paul Aaron had he still been in the race oh Paul why did you have to do that right Perez and hulkenberg out this has been a very dramatic race this is the sort of race that we need every week what's happened with these two Perez once again driving off the track it's the most pathetic of collisions and they're both out of the race right lap cars may now overtake crucially we are the last car on the lead lab if we'd not been on the lead lap we'd have been stuck with botas who is now 3 minutes behind us but it does mean that we will be able to challenge Z on better tires we could potentially finish somewhere up here if there's more Carnage then we could be looking at a point anelli has got damage Russell's got damage I thinkir has also got damage damage so they could be slow but it's just this lot that we need to try and Challenge and get through without dying basically we we desperately don't want our car to be wrecked oh this is going to be a frantic ending right safety car is ending but it's waited so long that Bas is almost with us that's going to be a problem but we'll attack and push and to deploy and let's see if we cane our way through this lot as the lights go green Lando Norris leads us away and the McLaren one two botas is on us but we are going to be looking forwards and looking to challenge zanu DRS won't be enabled for the first lap but we will be looking to challenge the Chinese driver and find a way through here we go to The Hairpin everyone defend everyone trying to protect their position and Max foren is challenging for the win shock to nobody right let's see what we can do once DRS is activated all right Fred has already pass Joe uh I think this into the DNA Corner he's gone to the inside he's gone lunging and it's worked again that high aggression for Fred vesty getting him to p14 now he's up to Pierre gazley and because we've got better ties we're able to just attack on them we're flying past gazley oh my gosh the points could be on today the points could be on he's swept past gazley we're out of vs DRS now enabled sit in the train oh they're they're battling and we're going around the outside of Lon don't push us off come on oh with 12th WE 12 Alor next then we can maybe try and catch science for the final point oh this could be incredible we've got DRS on Alburn but we're not close enough yet we're coming though we're absolutely on the charge I mean Antonelli andir with damage how far ahead are they only a few seconds there's a possibility let's harvest the battery for the the pit straight so that we' got got some to use we need to make sure we have DRS though and I think we should be just about able to get it did we get it we did not get it that's sad right attack on the tires go again we've closed in on albon having been at most about two seconds back tie driver defends can we go around the outside oh yes keep going keep going come on keep fighting ah it didn't quite make it but uh a worthy effort this is protecting science in um P10 right let's deploy as they go through 130r and we'll absolutely have the DRS this time Fred is going for everything he's worth he moves to the inside albon defends it oh my gosh what is going on almost taking him out but this time we're far along the outside to get the nose ahead but albon with the inside line forces off the forces us off the track and protects his position look how close we are as we exit spoon Corner oh Fred's going for it into 130r is he we we still driving in clean air we are not let's drive in clean air see if we can find a way past this Williams let's deploy for the entirety of the final lab Fred vesty ah it's not worked he's just driving on his shoulder basically might H we've dropped time through the first couple of Corners tires are getting very very hot and I don't think we're going to be able to snatch P1 but what an effort from Fred vesty that late safety car absolutely helping us out and this is going to be our best ever finish it's not points but but absolutely a fantastic effort Max for stappen wins for Red Bull Le Hamilton's going to get his first Ferrari Podium there he is in P3 and we're going to get our best ever result with p12 I mean if Paul Aron would would have still been in the race I think he would have scored points maybe he'd have finished just behind signs but clap it up Fred vesty 12th Place our best finish yet it moves us off the bottom of the conr rors Aron only just behind us so uh I think Saba will fall to the bottom of the standings now and maybe we'll be even above Alpine so we might have just rocketed up what three spots four spots that was good very good job all around Fred we screwed the pooch with the strategy under the sa first virtual safety car but then boy did we make it work he made it work as well we managed to make something out of nothing and We R the rewards 12th Place no points but an enormous amount of pride so there's your Japanese Grand Prix race result what a race that was 35 minutes I've been recording that my throat is now a bit sore which won't surprise you um but yeah p12 Fred up eight places such ging luck well I say ging luck but it's bitter G isn't it for Paul Aaron he was driving so well and then just that one mistake the rear end got away from him at dner it caught out Yuki Coda and uh he would have almost certain he' have scored points almost certain because he was on target to be ahead of signs he'd have probably been just ahead of albon but that late safety call would have given us that chance he' have been on softs at the end I think we would have scored points today if Paul Aaron had stayed in the race anyway we'll move on to another day drivers Championship Paul is last of anyone now who's competed in a race Logan Sergeant hasn't so ignore him but Fred VY up to 14th so that this result will actually move us above Alpine H and saber in the constructors we're eighth in the constructors unbelievable I think RB maybe have an 11th Place finish so that's what's keeping them ahead of us Wow Wow Let's have a look at the pit stops we're acing the pit stops and also that stop for Fred that got us ahead of hulkenberg crucial absolutely crucial and uh we we're top of that Championship 97 points we are the the gold standard when it comes to pit Lane precision timing I think I'm going to go and have some honey and lemon for my throat after that but unbelievable we missed out on points sadly but they're coming
