Jessica pugula did this in the US Open final so before we get to what she did what she did is something that can be very common to us average non-pro tennis players but to do this in a US Open final was very shocking to say the least but before we get to that let's just get into some highlights if you're part of the tennis world you know that sablena and pigula are playing in the final they did play today and Pulu was off to a rocky start she was off a rocky start but then slowly became to come back in the first St but right now as you can see sabalenka is just dominating when it comes to aiming the ball keeping pigula away from it and pigula is just really struggling to get the ball back a lot of the times and stay in the game I think what really keeps Pula alive is moments like these where she's able to continue the rally and then sabalenka I believe just ends up missing that's a great drop shot but again sabinka is moving her around so much I think it's going to come up here very soon set point yeah so savalen is just able to destroy her but she pigalo was actually able to come back she just wasn't able to finish the set unfortunately but points like that is what kept bagula in the game back and forth back and forth then saena would end up making the air but then finally she gets the break here on set point number five after a long back and forth the Glo is just not able to to finish on that one into the second set another Rocky start with Pula she she was actually down I believe 03 until sabalenka came until pigula actually came back here let's see yeah so she ends up going up five three here I believe yep off the sabinka Miss then she needs one more break to win except she doesn't get it and then she herself gets broken in the process of trying to get the second set this came out of surprise to me because I thought Pig was going to win the first set in general I didn't I I didn't think that she would lose when she started getting that momentum but then she ended up losing that and then second set comes down like 03 ends up coming back in getting to 53 and then ends up letting sabala come all the way back to now 65 4030 and I believe this is where she's able to get her here she just goes crosscourt with the power Pula can't keep up and it's and it's out and sabinka gets her first US Open Grand Slam win and earlier on in the match this is where pigula did something I I probably would do but to see it happen in Pros is is very interesting so I think her mindset here was okay I hit the first serve she's been getting let's all game but I think she thought she had well she said it herself she thought she had a second serve or she thought it was a so she thought she got to get two more serves but it wasn't a let so she ended up going big again for the second serve per se and missing look at her I think she's about to bounce again she's like oh no I thought I thought it was first serve then like to be fair she ends up actually winning uh the game but it was just very shocking to see that happened but yeah overall postm postmatch thoughts I think pigula has she'll be back she will be back I think she has she has the skill she has what it takes to win but today sabalenka was definitely the better player just overpowering her pigula could barely keep up one thing I thought Pulu would do more was capitalize on the first serves like get really really rely on her serve game to win this she could have and then also hitting the ball away from sabinka she had a lot of times where she would just hit it straight to her hit it straight to her and then sabinka just gets set and then blast the forehand and it's like fam she had like 22 winners in the first set I believe or second set by the second set and yeah so when you think about that it's like yes Pulu had has has skill in certain areas and very consistent and aiming the ball keeping her keeping her cool during the match but overall Sabal Linka was just able to overpower her more versatile especially in the in the big points of like Drop shotting and battling at the net I think saano was able to win a lot more of those key battling points while pigula was not and I think it showed in the momentum a lot of the momentum shifted and ended up being in zink's favor and that was that and I believe we can actually hear some of pula's thoughts here and there on after the match but those are my thoughts pretty much your thoughts on the match yeah um super tough match today obviously I would love to be in a third set right now but um I guess relatively speaking happy that I was able to at least give my chances to win a set considering you know I was down in the first and in the second so was able to find some good tennis wasn't but she almost she almost got the first set and the second set which is like but again it's she's I'm G let her cook I'm let her I'm G let her cook and yeah congrats to her I think she played some big tennis and some big moments thank you name affiliation one question each Ed tennis.com um e match the makova match this match all within like 72 hours like if you had a chance to kind of even take that all in just these were just one after the probably not because I'm just annoyed that I lost right now and everyone's like oh congrats amazing tournament I'm like whatever so BR fluff I wish I won you know you know I'm sure I will be a little bit more appreciative and see all of that at some point I should probably do that at some point but um yeah it's been kind of a Crea now CRA couple days so um hopefully I'll get some time after this to kind of just relax and um just you know look back at what I've been able to do the last oneth just from the National Tournament um sometimes can be so repetitive especially if you've been around for a while you got to experience new things that kind of atmosphere in a final where you're the home player were you able to appreciate that and during the match were you able to take that in a little bit or were you just it yeah I mean it was so loud when we walked out I think with the roof being closed it felt even louder so um it was a really cool atmosphere really cool experience and and obviously I was trying to at some point take it all in but at the same time try and focus on on the match me but there was definitely a couple moments where you know I tried to you know not rush and kind of stop myself a little bit and be able to um yeah appreciate that crowd noise because it was definitely super super loud and then on the changeover I'm always looking up and I see all the celebrities it's kind of hard not to because literally like right in front of us but uh I was like wow definitely a lot of people here so I thought that was prettyy cool and um pretty amazing that I you know got to play in front of them yeah it it's a lot of pressure to be an athlete especially in front of people if you if you play tennis casually and you're on the courts like people are there people are around but they're not really watching you like intently with popcorn and eating like it's not like that but these pro athletes they got to be out there they got to be in front of the eyes in front of the cameras in front of the lights it's it's a different atmosphere and you have to be able to control your emotions in front of everybody and play at a high level it's it's tough and that's why it's the pros for a reason and I think when it comes to high level Sabal Linka was the favorite today pigula was good um she just when it comes to staying in the match I think a lot of her staying in the matchness came from sabinka errors and that did not help her and I think when you were you were relying on your opponent to miss to to win that is not a ideal strategy and so that is why I think sabla was able to regain the momentum get more confidence in her own shots and start hitting the winners rather than waiting for Pula to miss she was creating the points she was controlling the point and ended up using it to her advantage to win so yeah that's simple as that I'm excited to see how the center and Fritz match comes up as a quick prediction my my head says cinder's gonna win hands down but my heart would love to see Fritz prove me wrong I would love to see it so see you then
