look this has always been a great basketball school and great history here with tremendous players and a lot of winning I mean just the consistency that and the Bob's been able to establishing the move to the big 12 which is you know which they've handled very well I think to me the big 12 the best basketball league in America I'm not I'm not real big on this whole best conference thing anymore because in all honesty there are good and bad teams in every conference they've probably this particular year a few more good teams and and fewer poor ones in the big 12 but you know generally speaking everybody has good teams but they're still a transition to be made when you move into a new conference in and I think West Virginia's handled that beautifully that's one of the things that certainly noticed that they've been able to handle that transition while maintaining their consistency as a when I've put out a challenge on social media today I'd love with them to fill this place up I that's the thing that we love about coming to places that are really anxious to showcase their fandom and their support and how much they love their program and that's what has I think that's what separated a lot of schools in West Virginia is in that group of schools and prideful fans you know I've run across a lot of people already who have been very very gracious and hospitable and glad that we're here and we're certainly thrilled to be here so you know bob is a recognizable figure that has become a fixture here it's hard to hardier remind yourself that he's been here he's been here a long time now you keep thinking well you know it seems like yesterday I'm getting older seek one yesterday was just can't stages over there here so it's got its got a brand and a feel to it that everybody's got used well I was what I will say about West Virginia is that I've known Bobby for a very long time and somebody who epitomizes what this state is all about says something he's a guy that comes in he's a blue-collar type of guy he's gonna outwork you he's gonna spend time to Jamie and the thing I love about him the most is that he's a player's coach even though he's not alright like he can pull a guy over to the side and talk to them like they're his boy at the same time he can crucify you and you still recognize that there's that space there that he's your coach is your leader and I think his team plays the way Bobby Huggins is as a person they are full of piss and vinegar they want to knock you over and even once they knock you over they want to keep their foot on your throat they don't want to let it up but I think that mentality is an incredible mentality especially within this year of college basketball where teams lack identity teams lack identity this year and the one thing you know about West Virginia is who they are and how they play no I mean I I just think this is a great building I'm a basketball guy I mean I'm you look up you know you think about the history of Western in the basketball players just what means to the state to me that's that's a big it's a great environment I love coming to places like this because they appreciate basketball and please your appreciate playing hard there they have ownership in their team they identified with their team have a seat with hugs here they identify that much more because he's one of them
