Shawn Brady proved himself to be a viable welterweight Contender on Saturday when he defeated former title Challenger Gilbert Burns in the UFC Fight Night 242 Main Event in Las Vegas this was a strong performance from Brady and his first UFC headliner he mostly had his way with Burns whether it was on the feet or on the ground there was some exciting moments exchanges in this fight but ultimately he seemed to be the guy who is just doing more throughout almost all of 25 minutes and now he has re rounded from his only career loss against balal Muhammad with backto back wins now and looking more and more impressive with each fight got to show off new layers in his game against Burns here and he is calling for something big in the welterweight division next he said he wants Ian Machado Gary a call out he has made multiple times in the past and also mentioned Colby Covington calling him the easiest fight in the division I don't really know which direction the UFC could go with that I think either of those would be great fights I would love to see him fight Colby Covington honestly uh just the question is would Covington take that fight that would be the one that I think for him would have a ton of upside he could prove he is still relevant in this division beat a guy who was on the rise who is potentially a bad style match up for him and really have a claim to being back in title contention it would be his most quality win in a very very long time so if the UFC could snap its fingers and actually make the fight happen I would love to see that one if not a fight with Machado Gary is also so very intriguing as well but is Ian going to go against Leon Edwards uh who's going to end up fighting who in this division it's really interesting right now uh we don't even know who is fighting for the title next I think it's all going to kind of come together once we see the title fight made and I do think Gary is a realistic opponent for Brady at this point uh if not he is going to get a marquee name in this division no doubt about it
