hey what's going on everybody this is Ty Rome back with tech life great article here from C cutter news I'll leave a link to it in the description so you guys could check it out so I've been warning you guys all day I watched I I I tuned in to the uh conference this morning and the hints were all over the place price increases are coming they could be direct price increases indirectly however Verizon wants to do it they're going to figure out how to pull that pricing lever and in this case Verizon is reducing the autopa discount on older plans so if you're on a plan that is not my plan you are going to pay $5 more per line per month in a move that may affect millions of customers Verizon has begun notifying subscribers and I got I got a lot of the emails already on select older Wireless plans that their autopa discount will be cut in half starting October 10th the charge will see the discount drop from $10 per line to $5 per line to retain the current $10 monthly discount customers will be required to transition to one of Verizon's new my plan options while there while these newer plans may offer updated features and benefits the switch could mean losing certain perks associated with the older plans like like the free Disney plus so if you're on the get more you move you you're no longer going to get the the Disney plus so you're going to have to choose some of the my plan perks and I would assume that you moving to a my plan would probably mean a price increase if you go that direction right you you get to keep the $10 you lose the Disney uh the Disney uh bundle if you want to get that under my plan you pay for it you might you might end up uh paying more than what you currently are on the get more right that's just I'm just throwing that out there or maybe it's just Verizon trying to get you out of to get more PL so they no longer have to pay for the Disney bundle right because that's that's probably pretty pretty pricey for Verizon every time that Disney decides to raise pricing they have to cover it you know eventually if the pricing gets too high they're going to push that off onto the consumer regardless in my opinion but so again there you have it we have another price increase for Verizon this is going to affect millions of customers some some are going to stick around on the on the get more and they're going to pay $5 more per line a month and Verizon's going to RI make millions and millions of dollars off of that but just thought out shed out with you I don't think they're done I think they continue to do this um next year I think they they pull the pricing lever again um I think they continue to do this they they have no no desire to grow organically and and cut pricing on the postpay premium side to do so so yes they will still continue to compete aggressively on promos and and phones and this that and the third but they're not going to cut pricing to grow organically all of a sudden so they're not going to do that so in return what's going to happen these millions of customers that are going to be affected by this price increase some of them are going to shop and they're going to end up at other brands that are cheaper like total Wireless visible and and all the other brands they have now Verizon that's how they want to compete but some people are saying they're they're they're going to they're going to uh break open their their postpay business it's going to break wide open because people are going to start shopping and they're going to go to the cheaper options now we haven't seen evidence of that happening at scale yet right or to the masses but over time people are going to make adjustments there are $15 P $15 per month price points out there or maybe a little more if you're a Verizon customer that give you the same access as as what you're paying all that money for on Verizon postpaid people eventually will catch on they will start talking Word of Mouth like hey why are you on Verizon I'm I'm on this one and I'm paying you know significantly less and I get the same access people will talk Word of Mouth gets around it it just happens so I wonder how long Verizon can keep this up they are trying everything right at these conference they say say they say oh our average credit score is 720 we're we're shielded by everything how long can they continue to raise pricing let me know in the comments how long would you be willing to stay with Verizon if they continue to raise price like share subscribe if you're new to the channel follow my social media Outlets this is Ty Rong with tech live see y'all in the next one peace
