Intro Apple's going to be finally adding the M4 chip to some Macs in the coming months and so if you're thinking about buying a new Macbook Pro a Mac Mini or an iMac I'd maybe wait on that according to Bloomberg's Mark German apple is preparing to upgrade every Mac to the new Apple silicon processor following the launch of the M4 iPad Pro in May Apple will continue the M4 transition with the previously mentioned Mac and complete it with the updates for the MacBook Air the Mac Pro and the Mac Studio in 2025 now one interesting M4 Macs tidbit from Mark German's latest report is that while the M4 overhaul is mostly focused on making Apple's machines more powerful with the M4 processor's enhanced neural engine for handling AI tasks uh that'll make it a standout upgrade there is at least one Mac model that will apparently get more dramatic changes of course we don't exactly know what those changes are or which one it could be but go ahead and start speculating down in those comments if you want to now the MacBook Pro and the M3 Macs iMac were already upgraded to the M3 chip but the Mac Mini that's still with the M2 and so that could be quite an upgrade but not really one that I would think about as a pretty major upgrade but from a performance standpoint that would definitely be in my opinion a pretty substantial leap now Apple has said the ultra thin 2024 iPad Pro serves as a model for its upcoming design philosophy with the company planning to offer the thinnest and lightest products in each category across the tech industry German previously reported that MacBook Pro apple is working on a thinner version of the MacBook Pro you know the MacBook Air is already thin I don't know how much more thin we could go with that maybe the iMac could get thinner who knows whether these dramatic changes German foresees relate to the design of Apple's Mac or maybe the addition of a rumored new feature like face ID and a MacBook Pro that's unknown so stay tuned as German has said I I think face ID and Conclusion the Mac has to be the next step for the MacBook Pro at least maybe the MacBook Air would be nice as well if we can get it across all Max uh that would need to be something alongside some other new interesting Hardware features because I just don't think year-over-year chip upgrades are going to be enough because personally these machines are still very good like the older M1 Pro or M1 max if you've got that pretty well specked out I don't think you still really need to upgrade depending on your workflow I could be wrong but I think a lot of you out there are pretty happy with that machine and if you're thinking of an upgrade you know let me know in the comments down below what machine you currently have which one you're probably thinking about going you know up to and what's your daily use case for those machines I would love to hear from you in the comments down below this is M with Mac Rumors thanks so much for watching and I look forward to seeing you all around in the next video
