[Music] what's going on everybody and welcome back to the channel so i will be making schedule predictions for every single power five team in college football for this upcoming season and i'll also do a subsequent conference standings video once i finish every single team in a specific conference just as a synopsis of all of my schedule predictions those will be coming out later on in august as we get closer to the start of the season gotta get through a bunch of the individual ones first though so let's go ahead and get into the arizona schedule predictions so some quick thoughts on the arizona program as a whole heading into 2022 and this is a program that has really really struggled in recent years and you know they're just not a great football team or program as a whole at this point and i honestly don't expect that to change very much this year either now i do expect some improvements over last season where they went 1-11 so that's not saying all that much to be honest but i do expect it to be slightly better now i don't know how much better their record will be but the team itself should be better and they should be a little bit more competitive and just overall you know i think they're going to be slightly improved but still they went 1-11 last year so slightly approved is not going to be a very strong season for them you know overall they're likely to be the worst team and program in the pac-12 really and even those easy out-of-conference games for them aren't at all easy nor are they guaranteed wins by any means and you know hopefully this program is one that will be able to continue to make those incremental improvements and in a few years they might be competitive in the conference to some extent but at this point they're just way behind most of the teams on their schedule so normally at this point i would discuss some teams that don't have much of a shot to win against arizona but for arizona there aren't any of those teams on the schedule as every game is very much so losable for them let's go ahead and jump into week one where they open the season at san diego state and this is one of those out of conference games that for most teams would be considered it's pretty easy pretty much guaranteed win for arizona it is not that that is a tough road game for them san diego state is arguably a better roster than them now i think arizona is a little bit better but not much you know they're a they're not a much better team than san diego state now again i do still think they are slightly better i do think they're going to be improved from last year like i said so i'm going to go with them to win here on the road in week one but it is not by any means a easy win you know or or a guaranteed win just because they're playing a g5 team san diego state is a decent g5 team and against a team like arizona they have a great shot at getting a win especially at home week two they host mississippi state and this is one they just don't have much chance in mississippi state is a dramatically better team than them i think mississippi state now nationally people may not see them this way but they are actually a very good team now they might only win six or seven maybe eight games but they play in the sec west which is probably the toughest division in football at worst it's the second toughest division in football so compared to in arizona mississippi state is miles ahead of them at this point and so even though arizona is the home team i'm gonna go with mississippi state to win pretty big here which brings us to week three with another one of those you know out of conference easy type of games it's against north dakota state and if you know anything about fcs football you know that north dakota state is no joke they are the best program in the entire fcs football series it's they're they're dramatically better than than most everyone else in that in that tier they're very very much the equivalent of a middling g5 team arizona gets them at home but honestly i think north dakota state is probably every bit as good as arizona maybe not quite as talented but i don't know really i mean that's a really tough one i think north dakota state gets a big win here it's one that arizona may be a slight favorite in i'm not sure they may well be an underdog in this game north dakota state is that good out of the fcs you know ranking so i'm gonna go with north dakota state to win here definitely one of arizona's most winnable games on the schedule it is one they have a great chance in probably more of a 50 50 kind of game to be honest but i'm gonna go with north dakota state to get the win in that one week four they are on the road at cal and cal is one of your mid-level teams in in the pac-12 this year i think you know i they're they're not dramatically better than arizona but they are you know substantially better there is a gap there it's not an untenable gap for arizona but it is a noticeable gap they're also on the road in this one and so because i do think cal is just a better team across the board they are the home team as well i'm gonna go with cal to win this one another one though where if if arizona is to get a couple pac-12 wins this could be one that you could look at and say that it would be a win but i'm going to go with cal in that one next game up is another home game and it is against colorado now if arizona isn't the worst team in the pac-12 colorado probably will be to be honest i think these teams are both pretty equally bad they're both gonna suffer a decently equal amount and that's not to say that the teams don't have some promise and some hope and some talent but overall generally speaking they're just not very good programs at this point with this game being a home game for arizona it's probably a 50 50 kind of toss-up game i went against them in the first of the 5050s which is the north dakota state one i'm going to go with them in this one being the home team against colorado i think the teams are roughly equal maybe a slight edge to colorado but i'm going to go to arizona to win this one at home might consider it kind of an upset i don't know not really like i said i think these teams are pretty evenly matched next week is against oregon and they get oregon at home but oregon is vastly superior to them roster wise you could argue coaching wise talent-wise they're definitely way better they're just a way better program and team than arizona at this point arizona doesn't have much of a chance and this one now you know crazier things have happened for sure but it's not a game that you would expect arizona to win or really even play very close in so i'm gonna go with oregon to win pretty big in that one next game up is at washington and this is a very tough place to play in the pac-12 not as tough as it used to be to be honest but it is still a tough place to play and not a game to take lightly by any means if for for anybody for arizona it's a game where they're dramatically outmatched again not as bad as the oregon one but washington is still a much better team than them they have much more talent and and they're the home team i don't see arizona having much of a shot in this one either i think washington wins pretty big then they get a much needed bye week but they follow it up with playing usc at home and this is one where usc is vastly superior to them and talent usc probably has a better coaching staff usc definitely has a better quarterback there's just not much hope for arizona in this one either they're just not as good of a team as usc in most anyway so even though they are the home team i think they lose pretty big in that one followed up the week after where they're at utah which is arguably the toughest place you know the toughest game that you could have in the pac-12 this year is at utah i think utah is again dramatically better than arizona arizona might be able to hang in there for a little bit i don't really think so though i think they're gonna end up losing that game pretty big gotta go with utah and that one and then another one here at ucla another one of that probably top four or five teams in the conference at this point on the road there as well one that arizona's just completely outmatched and they don't have much hope for and i don't i just don't see them being very competitive in that one either i'm going to go with ucla in that one and then the next game up is a home game against washington state and washington state is a team that is definitely better than arizona but they're not dramatically better than arizona this is a game where they could get a win in if things go their way and they are the home team i do think probably somewhere along the schedule arizona might surprise somebody and get an upset i'm gonna pick them to win in this one but again it is an upset win washington state should probably win this game they are the better team here even though they're on the road but i'm gonna give this one to arizona and maybe it's just wishful thinking for a program that that has been pretty bad down but i think they get an upset somewhere i think this will be where it is and then they end the season on a friday against arizona state and arizona state is just better than them they're not dramatically better than them but they are definitely better than them i know arizona's the home team but i don't think it really matters all that much at this point with arizona state being the better team just across the board by a pretty wide margin now they do have a bunch of off the field interesting roster overhaul stuff but they're still far more talented than i'm going to go with arizona state to win that one so that would make arizona three and nine on the season which is pretty bad but also for them that's still an improvement over recent years and this still assumes they get two upsets one over colorado and one over washington state now the colorado one much less so of an upset than the washington state one but they could definitely lose either one and honestly they could lose week one to san diego state game two that is not a gimme it could easily end up as a loss if they're not careful arizona is just currently a really really poor football team and football program as a whole so getting anything beyond two to three maybe four wins at the absolute ceiling seems like a huge stretch despite their small incremental improvements that i think they're going to have i still just don't see them doing much better and that is why i have them at three and nine anyway that'll do it for this one let me know down below in the comment section where you guys agree and or disagree with me on the arizona schedule in
