I try to have as much of a balance in my life more than I used to I feel like it helps stay fresh and motivated as well to have something going on outside of the pool uh when I walk in on Deck I am the swimmer and when I walk out of the deck I am no longer that person I do other things I focus on I have goals in school and University I try to talk talk about anything else than swimming which I feel like is a big change um for me especially since Tokyo and uh and yeah it's I I of course training is even more important uh I try to do uh more quality work in the pool I try to focus on very specific details as well um that at the end of the day will probably make the bigger difference and um and yeah just try to you know bring 100% every day it's hard but I try to do as best as I can every single day as well we just have to be careful that it doesn't become too much so which is I which I feel is what happened before Tokyo uh that extra year um had a big impact too like we I think I underestimated the effect of having a 5year circle uh cycle especially in a pandemic especially isolated uh without any swimming competition without friends without anything else to do outside of swimming it became a lot and so I felt like I needed to take myself out of the sport for a little while and I also think it's just as important as training uh to take care of your mental health as much as uh your physical health and it's probably the reason why I'm here right now um that break the sport has been my life forever and um it it's also what brought me into law school in the first place um I think the two subjects go hand inand together and uh I would just love to stay involved in the sport organization and and just also just for my own you know interest but also to work and make it um a better place if I can say in April I'm going to finish like the General Studies so like all of the the we're touching based on probably every single field but I kind of want to focus on civil because ideally I would still work in the sport world and the you know that would be like combining my two passion which would be um kind of like the dream job in my opinion so yeah I'm just learning about actually so many things that affects every single one of us on a daily life and it's just very very interesting it's actually when the pandemic first hit back in March 2020 and swimming was taken away in a second I was like oh what do I do now and then I was like it's kind of not when never uh so I I started it um and I'm happy I did it was uh it was a perfect timing too and I know it's it doesn't necessarily make my life easier but I love the fact that I am able to have goals and I have because it's so hard and so much work I have to fully focus on that and not think about swimming which helps with my mental health in a way um it doesn't necessarily add up stress it divides it into so um and I also love what I'm learning um I think it's fascinating and um and yeah I it's only about you know time management and it's doable
