hello and welcome to a new video with my crazy Volvo 244 here with a bit strange V10 in the back seat here and uh in this video I really hope I could get this car running as it should with all the gears and with some poers going to do some fixing and see if that could be possible and in the last episode you could see that I just bought an ABS unit so I got a new ABS just with an um belt installed here and I was eager to install it and see how the car would perform but uh it was not really happy I think it's missing brake pressure so um trying with some compressed air to put some uh pressure in and uh in this port I could see the reading was going up so maybe it's just needed this one I don't know these are the two inputs I think and these are the four outputs forun re and links HL Hinton links maybe if I remember my do from uh the school but I think uh I could connect one here it's M12 and I will just connect it to this brake here to the front brake I will make an T here and uh yeah make a tube and maybe I have to plug this once and see if I get brake pressure and hopefully that can help to get the gearbox running maybe the steering angle as well now the new GPS is installed and we have a brake pressure if I press the brake yes and um yeah good brake pressure one step forward great success [Music] [Music] now the fender is on there and it's cut up and I did put on some uh just black paint on top of this one a little bit hard to see how it looks like right right now looks a little bit strange a big hole here but uh think it looked good when it was on the ground yes need to I think make a little bit of reinforcement of these fenders here now when they got their a little bit more sloppy and I will install yeah these kind of quick disconnects I don't know if I have showed them before but I have them for example here has to push and then you can release it it's custom ball on the inside there and I know some say that these are very dangerous and will break off but these ones feel really good they are not Chinese I know my friends that had problem with them they bought the Chinese ones but this one is not made in China so I think it is better quality on these ones have been good so far I have it back here as well good morning it is time for some uh fuel here and this car is not the easiest to um refuel when you're alone you will see have to remove all of these small Hood pins get this fuel here maybe I will run some um hose to the side or make a better make a hole here would also be better it's a 60 L tank so it's a pretty big tank here uh good for not refueling all the time when you're using the E85 and I'm Al always just using pump E85 no other uh fuel no raise fuel no rise E85 normal pump is fine for me back into the hold again okay okay [Music] just finished up an 3D print here we'll remove some of this uh material and this is uh an um Outlet need to remove some support material inside here model these ones in Fusion 360 and these Outlets are just straight back and when driving in Rain fogged up the window so now these two look a little bit strange here but um hopefully it will be all okay and not a lot of ducts here make it as clean as possible still bit messy in the wiring even though I'm working on uh cleaning that one up right now as well I'm starting out with some modifications already this keypad I had here on the side I not really used it for much yet but I will use it now when I'm installing PDM here for example and we use it for the dash as well I think I'm moving this one to um the center of the steering wheel not that good looking but it's more practical I will see a lot more also because in this one it's um LEDs with different colors so it's kind of an a little bit of an indication as well so if I have everything in front of me I can see it better than having it on the side here so it's more like an Formula 1 steering wheel uh I'm actually using some wires here for the airbag that that was here so it was two pins there for the airbag and it was two pins not used for the airbag ignited number two so I am working a little bit on the wiring here to put some new wires in using the clock spring that is inside here make a little bit bracket to make it fit inside here do you think it will be okay I still have the problem with the steering that the steering angle sensor is not cooperating so I cannot get the launch control in and I have doing a lot of testing and work on that one with vcds to try it to work and um I also brought the car to the dealer and uh was it the Volvo dealer or the Lamborghini dealer or Audi dealer yeah we connected the car with the correct computer there and tried to initialize the basic setting the calibration of the steering angle but it could not work even with those things so something is incorrect in the car maybe um long shot now is that the steering angle sensor that is inside here is uh some problem with it I actually disassembled the one in the car and it's uh two gears inside here with the magnets so I took it this part and see if there was any problem and um could not see anything but yeah now long shot new stack here so I will install it and see if it's working I'm not so hopeful that it will work also by the way in the control unit for the gearbox now also we have reprogrammed it to accept a very high steering angle like over 1,000° because I can see that it is 800 uh in the steering there but um in the software but also it maybe gives some signal that it's not an okay signal so it will still not work the launch control even if reprogrammed in the gearbox I thought that would maybe make it to fool it but no no still not happy the new steering angle sensor is installed there and it is actually working better than the last one first one I had uh the steering angle internal there it was actually yeah working good but I could not see any of these other other erors like turn rate and it was saying that it was not okay so it didn't like that one I don't know if it got damaged or something but now it is working so that's great also been working with um removing a lot of switches here but uh trying to get rid of as much as possible down here and uh automate some things and make some here in the steering wheel now uh I have this cvas panel it's not the nicest one it's working good then I could maybe replace it to one of the other blink Marine ones that is there in the future so now I have like um fan here I can have AC in three steps and uh yeah change the pages here and um yeah brightness and whatever also this one will change it for something good maybe I maybe party now um this is the burnout mode so when I press this one it will go into uh two wheel drive so it's just for Burnout and then when I will drive away I will see this one here and um I will hopefully not to drive away with an um two wheel drive car again on the drag strip so it will be four-wheel drive working on the dash Pages here to put in um some information and um I'm going to have a raise display like this one going to have as little information as possible I'm still going to remove some of this boost I think this boost now it's for seeing the launch when the launch is good I have Boost and I can go but I think I will just change this to a green uh um flag when this is okay it will be green and also I'll fill up with some more temps here but as long as I have these ones that it's cold oil doesn't need to say anything but it's when it's cold it's there but uh this one will go away uh when all of the uh temperatures are good there but I will talk a little bit about the conact with the dash when I gets more finished with that one but the concept I'm thinking when driving and racing it's a black cockpit design like in man aircraft if there's everything within um tolerance values um it should be black you should not see anything should not confuse that much um here for example a lot of different values and it's easy to not see something see a problem or something so it should come up warnings and uh yeah make it ready when ready also I updated a front differential uh I have the cyx controller in that one because it was reporting a bit uh strange so I am um updating that a bit um yes I can just show you what's going on into the differential it's actually a lot more than um you can think about some inputs here sensors even though if it's not that much it got uh four like base Duty Cycles here and uh this one also is duty cycle controlled so it's not an like if motic I think would have makes it newon meters it's Duty based controlled and if we check there's four different tables the base Duty here is number four and that's actually because of the drive mode if you have comfort if you have um uh performance uh I will drive in performance this one now I just loaded a new one so this is not modified right now I've got the questions about uh how much uh it is driving the four-wheel drive it's 50/50 or but it's actually fully variable if there is 0% duty cycle as you can see down here uh then it's no front wheeel drive at all all is rear wheeel drive and I think up here 60 uh duty cycle I don't know this now I maybe have to test it and see um but 60 I think it's I don't know maybe 50/50 I think this is actually depending on my tires of course now but it can overdrive the front wheel so the drive it will be more drive to the front but uh I think 60 is an um good hearing Comfort it's uh not as much front wheeel drive actually here H I thought the OEM had uh more front wheeel drive in Comfort but uh I don't know how this base maps are right now but one thing because I'm going to drive a lot with um different uh wheel sizes you see one here it's throttle position and one is vle speed so actually it's giving more front wheeel drive if you have a lot of throttle but also here up in speed we're going here uh speed um over 220 km per hour it's tapering off so it's not as much front-wheel drive anymore so I think uh just to make this safe so with normal driving it's not four-wheel drive so I can have different kind of of uh I could maybe make it a little bit nicer and also here in speed maybe I don't know can it's possible H I don't know this what's plus and minus on this CX yeah I think up in speed here hopefully I don't need all fwh drive so I can maybe remove it a little bit but then also here back uh at lower throttle positions it's only rear wheel drive so this is only good for drag racing I could say it's some like adders if there is some um slip for example uh then it will adjust the four-wheel drive rear slip front slip if you have foot breaking no adjustment now uh steering angle for example um you can see here that in the if you have a 0% steering angle or 10 up to 20 it doesn't make anything but then it tapers off multiplier less than one so if you have a lot of steering angle 240° 200 it's giving less front-wheel drive so this is probably very good um adjusting these ones when you're driving on uh and track you can have some switches to adjust this one also with the gfor and uh yeah manif full pressure and some other things and switches so yeah there's quite some bit going on in the front wheeel drive and I think this is a bit of the I have to work a bit on to get this car behaving good on the drag strip I'm working on the air condition and uh the inter Shiller system here to cool the intercoolers but I could not get into to work I just charged system and I have pressure both on the mechanical gauge and in my yeah system there and I try to pulse this um compressor AC compressor this is a variable um displacement compressor so it's not just a normal clutch but it's not giving any pressure at all so I disconnected this one has actually an drive shaft in it's no belt the input here rotate this one the center part is not rotating so this is broken so this is kind of a weak point if the the pump is getting stuck I will see if it's possible to replace this or maybe I need to replace old compressor uh a little bit hard to remove it now when all of the oil pump is down here as well so the AC compressor is down it was possible to take it out without the oil pump but just the water pump here and some hoses and the AC compressor I think it have seen better days something very strange here yeah it's totally broken don't know how that one was possible but maybe I've done some mistake or been driving the car without um anything gas in it so yep it's totally broken I need a new AC compressor while I'm waiting for the AC compressor should come before this weekend but it did not so I'm doing a lot of small upgrades here make this a little bit more stiff the front another beam there because we could see when driving it was very floppy and a little bit strange here on the left back wheels uh on the ground front in the air and you can see an laser and this is actually the laser R height sensor the Cort one that is from a Formula 1 car so this is the first time this is in the car since it was in a Formula 1 car so it's cool to use these sensors mini laser distance meters so I have now here a pitch sensor so I will use this for pitch control uh I don't know if it's needed now but I think in the future it could be possible that it one want to go on the back wheels Mo try to move the car down let's see the pitch yeah 5.5 de so I'm just calibrating this one and uh yeah lots of small small projects to make this car where I want to have it AC compressors uh finally arrived also got some spars if this happens again because I'm experimenting with the air condition all right uh we are out for a test drive to see if the gear boook is working good without uh loing into gears that has been my big problem we'll see if uh it will work or not oh some [Applause] all right it um seemed to be working it's not getting stuck in any gear and uh but it was a bit strange there with the shifting maybe it's something from the motic I when I steer the shifts um we'll see by the way we'll see if the launch is working it actually worked in the garage but don't know if it will do it now with um this see I think there there there yes it worked but I had incorrect here the thing is you you don't hear the launch control the boost it's so nice this mot back in the garage and uh I can say that I think all of my three big problems I had with this car since it was yeah first time rolling is fixed now uh really good actually the gearbox is working it's not locking into any gear and the launch control is working and the air condition is working as well so it's cooling down these intercoolers pretty cold uh it was uh really cold there but I maybe need to add a bit more refrigerant or find the correct level on that one also a bit strange with the gear box uh not shifting as it should when I had it in this performance mode and um I think maybe it is uh checking some data now after some data logs and maybe it is the shift points was bit too high in the mic very close to the rev limiter and uh maybe I have to change that one because it worked good when I shifted myself or maybe it could be some other problem but I think that's yeah some tuning problems with it but it's a bit strange when you ring that high and not going into the next gear but um yeah great success I would say uh anyway with the with the cars and now in just uh this weekend upcoming in 3 days uh I will put on the Slicks on I will put on them here in the garage and drive to an Airfield there there will be some street racing it's legal street racing but it's an Airfield without any Spectators but it's some races there so I will race this again try to compete with some other cars and also try to get some uh data and some tuning and um yeah try to get some numbers out of this car and see how it behaves with the Slicks when everything is working so I know more in the winter what to do to make this car good I also plan to go in another week to drive on a real prepared uh drag strip uh quarter mile and see what kind of quarter mile times for that I need to have my parachute on so I need the yeah I will have started a little bit working on that one but that one will be there because it will go over 240 km/ hour this weekend it's only 2011 M I think this is it for now not that much driving in this video but hopefully the next one will be from the event here drag race event the street race event and hopefully you can see some good footage with this one
