as sasun high school now a crime scene it's so senseless it's so needless police say a 15-year-old girl was set on fire by another student shocking Curtis tweet whose daughter also goes to the school you know my kid was on the way to the cafeteria you know she was Doling she was behind she was doing whatever she could have been there like my kid could have been there and I just I don't see how this could happened in the school police say it happened shortly afternoon and that an officer was already in the building for a different matter allowing them to respond within a minute arresting a 14-year-old girl a teacher helped extinguish the Flames the mood in our office right now is is is is quite low and and there's some upset people um obviously CU this this is not something that we ever expected um and could really prepare for police say the victim was taken to hospital after being treated for burns at the scene the teacher was also injured while putting out the fire Saskatoon Public Schools say due to the seriousness of the assault classes were cancelled this afternoon and the school will remain closed on Friday the division said in a statement it was a traumatic incident for the entire School community and it will be providing support to students and staff in a letter to families the school's principal said the doors will remain open on Friday so students can talk to counselors Saskatoon police did not give a motive they say the investigation is now in the hands of a serious assault unit and the 14-year-old remains in custody Alexander Silverman CBC News Regina
