now the other thing that you tweet out and a lot of people probably don't realize this practice squad salaries count on the salary cap so take us through that and and what that means basically yeah so when a player assigned to the practice squad they're guaranteed um what they're paid for for that week and it just rolls through the season for guys that have got zero or one year they get 12 Grand a week and then based on if they have two or more years they can earn somewhere in that 16 to 20 000 and so depending how much they want to bid and really bring someone in if a player is then elevated for game day they don't actually have to be active but they're elevated off of the practice squad into the roster you can do two a week and it might be to cover injury to call someone up for a bit of special teams they'll then get paid a minimum salary and all of that counts towards the salary cap so you're looking around four million over the season is what it's going to cost but there is benefit to that that's 16 extra guys you can practice with and everything else one point I've got no idea why they've got a spare kicker if I'm honest on the practice squad that feels like a waste to me I think you can find better uses
