zero one's get hello and welcome to Beyond top 10 tennis my name is Dr Ashley Morgan Burge and I am your host welcome to episode 107 of Beyond top 10 test and our first episode post The Wimbledon championships um our previous episode really wrapped up uh the quarterfinal semi-final through to the finals um all Wimbledon but we held off on the rankings because um there was a little bit of a delay there for the rankings to come out obviously after uh the winner was announced but we have actually a lot of I think a key ranking insights to go over today as well as not just the results from uh Wimbledon that has been done and dusted but the events that actually unfolded also in the second week of the Championships uh there was a couple of that took place on the WTA tour not the ATP Tour but this week has also kicked off a 500 event on the ATP Tour so that is a quite significant event WTA tour has some smaller scale events primarily ATP as well but there are some really interesting correlations there um I really want to dig into WTA first we're going to do rankings and then the results and same with the ATP Tour um previous episodes we really looked at essentially the results before the rankings just to better explain um why ke some players progressed and others had not uh but these are the first live rankings out post Wimbledon all right so before we get into that if you've been with us for some time now thank you so much you know what we're all about you know um how Beyond top 10 Tennant and each episode essentially unfolds if you are new thank you so much I really wouldn't encourage you to track back to our early episodes as always that those First 50ish episodes focused on uh one of my initial releases uh the secrets to Optimal Performance success before we transitioned over to the secrets to Optimal coaching success and around say episode 70 was when we started those special editions coinciding with the Australian Open this year then around episode 88 kicked off French Open special edition and episode 100 kicked off The Wimbledon championships and it's only going to be a matter of roughly I think we're at fiveish weeks until the US Open kicks off maybe a little bit more I can't believe how quickly it is around the corner and we have the Olympics um between then it is a jam-packed season but amongst all of that we've got all these I think um the key insights that have been unraveling but really important and again if you've been with us for some time now you are familiar with this is the Eight Keys now the book and you'll see it behind me as well the Seven Keys it came out say two three seasons ago years but my latest release came out at the end of last year how to develop a top 10 tennis ranking which essentially freed up the 2024 season to share more data more implications how whether you're a player tuning in um an athlete a coach or apparent whether you're a current player former player looking at progressing towards the top 10 in the future learning how essentially these key insights and these and the data is really essentially one extrapolated but in real terms what it means and three really how these Eight Keys essentially come to fruition to deliver these results but also helping you uh understand where these metrics have come from and how we can better understand with our Predictive Analytics as well how these players each and every week continue to progress or regress and more often than not it is it runs parallel with the data and in a really I think a simple way of sharing is that we can work backwards and say well these players are regressing because of of this and what we know around the Eight Keys is if you've got the seven keys to begin with you will crack that three threshold and become a barrier breaker is what we turn it term it and Achieve that top 10 tennis ranking but if you're looking at staying in the top 10 long term the 8% um the 2% will regress that's not longterm you're susceptible to losing your hold inside the top 10 and that was again um shared in how to develop a top 10 tennis ranking the power of the Eight Keys that Bine then but what happens if you are inside that 8% you maintain that um your hold inside the top 10 how you're able to tighten your grip on the Eight Keys and how that correlates with grand slam success multiple Grand Slam success longevity at the top of the game now there are a number of players who have attain that or who are starting to joic for example Serena Nadal feder a lot of this data has been built on um the foundations of giants for lack of better wording and it's it's incredibly highly likely that more often than not we are not going to see that happen that frequently um maybe we will but it's it's too soon to tell but the eight keys are solidified in each and every one of those four top players four uh four players with 20 plus granden slams it's the only research or data of its kind worldwide and I'm so excited to share it each and every episode and that's where my uh 12 books come in that I have penned because it's so incredibly powerful and it's there to help you nudge your game closer towards the Pinnacle of play um but also learn what the seven keys are how powerful they are and if you really hold on to those Eight Keys what it potentially can mean obviously the likes of Serena jovic still Nadal to federa were able to hold on to those eight keys for an extended amount of time and it shows with their results at the moment we're having players who fluctuate they hold on to six maybe seven of those keys maybe eight if you're lucky and we do have around two three players on the WTA and ATP Tour who are holding on to those keys consistently and why they continue to repeat their level of results that Peak Performance that Baseline we talk about and how it's able to replicate those results all right that's enough of I think a snippet there I really enjoy sharing I think a little bit more of a a deep dive um obviously if you want to learn more these are both of my two latest releases um there hopefully hopefully will be another one at the end of this year but we'll see end of this year early next year time will tell but there's plenty of reading that there is essentially 11 specific books here to dive into and that 12th one obviously is that fictional release um that I did pen I think it was roughly 18 months ago now all right so we're going to start with WTA I've got that one over here adb2 we've got that one here Deep dive into the rankings first then the results be mindful that the first two tournaments discussed on the WCA tour happened in the second week of the Championships the later two on the WTA tour are unfolding this week so they kicked off again this week so again if you played in those last couple of days of the Championships you are highly likely not to be playing this week all right and the same applies um almost for the ATP Tour however they did not actually have any uh tournaments that crossed over with the Championships they've got four that are unfolding this week so a very heavy schedule on atp2 this week with four W sh just have the two this week all right ranking insights really important we're start from 100 through to one and we'll do the same um on the ATP Tour as well but just outside the top 100 is noteworthy is a Saka so uh Naomi was roughly just outside the top 200 a little bit higher I think prior to the Australian Open um and then she's she's been starting to track so even though her results potentially weren't as anticipated at Wimbledon she's almost cracked the top 100 noteworthy we know wasaki and B did crack the top 100 prior to the Championships cuz all three of those players were around that ranking range very important there have been changes though in their respective rankings and we will get there okay um at uh 100 is um hibino she's actually regressed six places there mx's regressed 14 places to 99 Irani has regressed 10 places to 96 Raku has cracked the top 100 it has been I think for the best part of the last 12 24 months since she has been um inside um this ranking range at 41 places to 94 in the world look her performance at Wimbleton was definitely as anticipated she really did raise her bar potentially could have gone further but to hear obviously more of a deep dive um into that tune in or track back to our special editions over the Championships over essentially the past fortnite all right Andria Erica Andria she's progressing nine places to 92 really interesting cuz she really was hovering between 100 101 99 so she's starting to make inros which is really good to see mindful that she's still only 20 years of age a couple of years older than her sister okay Sano taking hit back 31 places to 90 um called a 16o regression to 89 Town Sent 11p Point regression to 87 Harriet Dart is is up 16 places to 84 really good performance complimented obviously by her results at the Championships all right um Bernard Pera from the states 21 years of age she's at 15 places there very impressive 82 in the world Osorio is Up 3 to 81 Seville is up 4 to 78 trevisan really good 12 point uh progression 77 here we go wasaki um this is her best result since she's been back a 15o progression 76 her highest ranking since she's come out of retirement essentially and remember the lead up to the Championships really helped there when she did win a few rounds um probably the best we've seen her play all season so she's not quite at that level yet that she um was say sharing or talking about at the beginning of the season because again and I've touched on this despite her commentary in respect to thinking that she can beat the best players in the world the woman's game has progressed it is so profound especially inside the top 30 the depth of the field I think is never like it has been before and what compliments that really is the number of players capable of winning a grand slam where the numbers are actually more dispersed on the WJ tour in contrast to the ATP Tour as it really suggests the level of play is wider than uh initially some may have thought okay um Evan Asians up to 75 link 14 point progression 74 there gr is back 272 poter Oscar's back 671 Bron zetti at 11 Point progression at 70 there all right bogden's back 11 68 Sheriff's 11 Point progression 67 here we go we're looking forward to this Bosa 28 point progression she's at 65 in the world really impressive for Bosa this is her highest ranking I think in the best part of the last 12 months roughly I don't have the data in front of me showing last year or around this time last year and and those rankings we know she's taking a hit we know she's been battling with those injuries um I have shared though throughout this season that her ranking was true being ranked outside the top 100 with her Lev results that's what it was she was never at that level of consistently to be ranked inside the top 8% or the top 10 in the world she was more likely to be readily displaced which unfortunately did happen however really important here is the level of play she's actually been delivering this season despite say uh some inconsistencies with her results she has been delivering that Peak Performance has been tracking and this result is only the beginning I think for Bosa she definitely has the capacity to finish the season in inside the top 30 if she begins to essentially string those wins together more consistently all right sagman 8 point progression 64 bua threo progression 61 all right volet 12 point progression 257 very very big Lulu son I think we all know her name now 70 point progression she was ranked 123 prior to the Championships and now she's 53 in the world I think she is officially the one of if not the highest ranked kiwi tennis player ever or in more recent years um really really impressive again tune in to those special additions to hear more about her from her time in NCAA how I shared um I took a similar path as well but also why my background unfortunately with injuries why those Keys really are ingrained in mitigating injuries um really really important there and why we see players um come down with an injury because of poor technical parameters and how the Eight Keys essentially sets that straight okay kon's back six I'm at 55 in the world so sun is at 53 hopefully good things we will see from the here here on a Sterns steady at 52 doll high 51 as well zoo is up 11 places to 50 in the world really good there Stevens is up five at 45 in the world plisa twoo progression 44 Barella three-point progression at 42 okay inside the top 40 now Wang Sixpoint progression here at 36 really she's only a 22y old from China following in Zen's footsteps I think that we have to really cautious there in a really good way on how wanks going to continue to track so stay is back 6 points37 mova is back 1 35 so remember prior to roughly the French Open makova was still ranked inside the top 10 despite not playing all season she had her surgery on her wrist I believe it was last at the end of last season and that's why the rankings were not correlating she was inactive and still placed inside the top 10 however now it's starting to show she hasn't been able to string enough games together and or WIS together since she has been uh back in Action so it's going to be really interesting I think how the rest of the season pans out and whether or not makova progresses towards the top 30 inside more firmly or not really interesting because players who have that oneof Peak Performance and are not able to sustain it unfortunately that is what we see similar with um Kon for example with that regression although she has been relatively steady inside the top 50 we'll get more to those key points LED all right merens is back 134 she should be ranked inside the top 30 bol's back four to 33 definitely should be placed inside the top 30 pav chenko is back 4 to 32 should be placed inside the top 30 all right mirr Andria the 17-year-old didn't have let's say the best Wimbledon results there she had a stellar friend Chen but she's back eight points to 31 and definitely should be ranked let's see I'll say around that ranking range we wanted a hover around say 30 just for the rest of let's say the next season and then I think once she hits 189 good things and the the rapid fire we want that to steady similar to say when we're looking at G and her metrics over those 2 to three years around a similar um age and ranking range all right f has taken a hit 9po regression 230 without a doubt Spina should be ranked inside the top 15 um that these rankings are skewed really important that there needs to be a correction only uh some of the top 10 has corrected and I have a pendant article uh this week so head on over to a international to read more up about that um including WC T and ATP Tour and the correction that has unfolded but still why more is U necessary and ought to come all right poens is up 6 to 29 chenade is up 2 to 20 now remember schne start of the Year I'll say closer to the top 100 she only got on the radar when she was ranked around 870 in the world another uh former NCAA player and she has been tracking all season has she's won I think that huge title prior I think it was to uh the French Open but she's won two titles I think now this season and it's the first I'm sure of many to come and she has cracked into the top inside the top 30 sooner than potentially anticipated just prior to wimbl in and now I think it's going to be really interesting come the hardcourt season because I definitely think she's going to be one to watch okay Alexander is back 5 to 20 so noova steady 26 yes Str up 2 to 25 a little bit surprising there given her recent performances so some of those players I I touched on outside the top 30 they should be in this ranking range Garcia 24 Fernandez up to 23 good Hadad May is Back 2 to 22 okay Donna veage 16 point progression to 21 almost almost at a ranking he I think it was 2019 uh Donna was just inside the top 2019 was her Peak range ranking at that time she's had a lot of injury she's been hovering just outside the top 30 just inside the top 40 for the best part of the past season or more but she's finally had I think that huge run obviously at the Championships really good to see I I'm looking forward to see how veage tracks for the rest of the season and if she can crack into the top 20 and maintain that to kick off The Following season and I can't believe we're already talking about The Following season because yes we are already now officially halfway through uh the 2024 season as a ranker is back 4 to 20 in the world kostuk steady at 19 VRA SOA all right so she's at 18 she's been bunp bumped back regressed 12 points we knew this was going to come the defending Wing Buon Championship Champion however what's really interesting here is that with her results she definitely could potentially be placed closer to the top 10 if not inside the top 10 definitely in contrast to some other players currently still inside the top 10 that should not be there remember where this all comes from the 50% anomaly this season we 50% of top 10 players on both ATP and W T should not be inside the top 10 they are not um aligning with their results and or their performance this season these rankings however these new ones that have come out and I've pinned this again in this article is that a huge correction has taken place on the atp2 this correction took place prior to wiet it started to correct itself actually prior to the French roughly so it was looking a lot better probably like 90% better okay or it's 90% as it should be uh when we're looking at the wbj to it's still roughly around 60% so it has improved but there's still um probably a 40% margin for some players to be uh bump out um but some to be replaced in there so it has improved maybe maybe let's say 70% but there are there's still that room there all right another player that has been bumped out and this is a correction unfortunately is jabber she's been inside the top 10 for a number of Seasons now she had a stellar I think previous 18 months up until this season she hasn't been able to deliver those results she's still been ranked inside the top 10 uh throughout essentially the the entire season but those results have not been tracking um so she's now at 16 in the world maybe it'll take a bit of pressure off her and she'll really kickart that hardcut season with some great results hopefully similar to VR overa but makova is another example three players bumped outside the top 10 let's see if they can track back into the top 10 to really showcase that they really do have a hand on the Seven Keys and all the Eight Keys um overall and that will really tell us if they uh deserve that place again inside the top 10 with their results or if players of the likes of Z Collins are going to keep uh pushing them out good example there all right kin SK is up 117 Navar is up 25 now I've also Penn Navaro with how she has been tracking potential maybe barrier breaker this season if she continues however kazakina is at 12 in the world um USTA Peno is just outside so she has tracked three places forwards at 11 interesting though Austin Peno has already been a barri breaker this season she started the gear inside the or just inside the top 10 and she's been fluctuating in out in out more recently she has been slightly out um however I think she's really on the cusp becoming a barrier breaker again if she can um maintain those results from early on in the season also noteworthy is Keys even though she's regress one point to 14 um both keys and Navaro are very dangerous especially come the hardcourt season kakina um Austin Peno maybe Samson over is up 2 to 13 in the world uh we want to see a little bit more to whether or not I think Samson overa is going to reget ress but this could be um incorrect that's more of a looking at how these players have collectively been tracking we know the other four have been uh tracking uh more readily over the last I'll say five to six weeks in contrast okay top 10 yes there has been a correction however there's still a couple of players that are more susceptible so a couple more than two including of that 2% and typically that's only obviously for two players but start from the beginning yes s g sabalan riina p Pini yes that is a really healthy correction all five of those players are respectively ranked and as it should stand and uh represent their current level of play and their results this season very very important really happy for p Pini to progress those two points to be Insight officially the top five Pula was five so she's back one at six her results have not been tracking this season and they just don't correlate with that top 10 ranking yes she got that maen Grass Court title prior to Wimbledon but that level of consistency is just not there potentially sure ahead of say the likes of vress over to Jabor but top 10 status no she is however ahead of zen zen yes she's up 1 to 7 in the World Zing has not been tracking since her finalist result at the Australian Open definitely should be ranked outside the top 10 uh we're yet to see that level now we've got the likes of say Collins she's up too so she's cracked back into the top 10 she was briefly inside the top 10 prior to the French Open slipped out to 11 now she's back in good look at her results this season they speak for themselves no other player unless they're inside the top five has those results and that is why paga to Zen more likely than not will regress out Sakari very similar Sakari has had some results however this season more recently has a regressed in her safe performance and that rate of consistency or her patterns of play um so potential is also susceptible all right correct jakova she's up 22 places to 10 now you would have heard me prior to Wimbledon and the French say it's a really big turning point for ketova she was inside the top 10 top 20 top 30 kept regressing to say that 3132 in the world and it was a turning point whether or not she was going to re-equip herself with more keys or continue to regress and I think what better example to show with her Triumph at Wimbledon is that she just took all of it and put it all into action some of her match definitely were top 10 status she played the best tennis I think of her life if not equivalent to say the French Open but the game has progressed since then over the last say three years and her game has as well and that's what I think is really impressive if ketova can maintain her level of play She's definitely deserving of this top 10 ranking however Zang um we know she hasn't been able to maintain her finalist result let's see if crova can maintain now her level of play with that win palini has been able to maintain her consecutive finalist finalist results so yes deserving of that top 10 we know swch defending champion of the French has been able to maintain despite her third round results let's say in Australia and at Wimbledon she still has that grand slam to her name and say Madrid Barcelona sabalenka she was still finalist in both those events she hasn't been performing that well however outside those events GF has been ahead of her in those events yes tanka has that slam or both to her name GF however has consistently been showing up um riina yes and no because of her health we know palini she's been showing up the other 50% no Collins yes CRA jakova we know now but Pula Zen Sakari no the three other players that have been showing up I would argu more so osta Peno kazakina and potentially Navaro over Keys potentially you've got keys Navaro kakina ostap Peno all four of those players who are have a greater rate of progress this season than those three players that's why a correction still needs to take place on the W tour to really more solidify and be representative of the current state of play really really important there um sure there are a number of other players that have been tracking but when we're looking at those micro discrepancies and how we can differentiate a players level of play with the top 10 these are just some key insights okay that wraps up I think all of the results um all the rankings for the WTA tour now let's dive into really quickly we've got these earlier events the 125 that happened second week for perspective uh the number one seed was Parry here and there are a number of other players obviously I'll say predominantly ranked outside the top 50 and mindful again that they did not obviously make the second week of the Championships I'm going to Kickstart because it is a smaller event um I want to have a look at the semifinals and the finals so here we actually had par the first seed trevisan the seventh seed zasa and Jericho now all four of those players tracked through to the quarterfinals Perez Diaz Kash again Kash was the third seat Lee and Kaa now that makes up the top eight we're looking at now the semis trevisan got the win over chero trevan seven seed and that was in three tight sets Okay parez Diaz and Lee were in the other semifinals Lee progress there Trevis an again seven seed got the win over Le 6262 really good win for Trevis an with that title which places trevan then somewhat on the radar we will say with that title win this season okay the next one we're going to have a look at well that one was my apologies the nordia open okay bastard Sweden so the next event the other smaller scale event um the grandest open okay based in France right so when we're looking at the quarterfinal stage we can say we've got ruoy G Bron zti the fourth seed Jackie Mo the eighth seed Aro orango my apologies the sixth seed orango has been tracking this season Sheriff the thir SE all right janil and Jack po Jack poic my apologies for the mispronunciation there all right so that makes up the top eight so let's have a look semi-final stage we got G bronzetti the fourth seed bronzetti with the win there sheriff and jit sheriff with the win there as anticipated so we had bronzetti and Sheriff um fight off in the final but before I get to the result what's really noteworthy here is that the first seed was poosa and poosa did lose in the first round to martinov however martinov then did lose in the second round all right so in the finals Sheriff just fell short bronzetti the fourth St got that win over sheriff sheriff has been tracking very healthfully this season right so bronet had the six4 6775 and that tie break at was 75 really close there so bronzetti noteworthy to be mindful of two uh two players as well to note potential tracking and potentially to make their way on the radar we know Sheriff has been performing this season all right so the bigger events so the 250s underway this week we've got the Palo um open um in Italy all right so we let's say halfway through here we've got the round of um 32 and 16 uh the quarterfinals will be played later today let's dive into those first round results Zen is the number one seed here and she's actually been putting up some good results which is very noteworthy nonetheless all right so Zen Goodwin over Irani 3 and two arango fell to martic at 2 and three bronet good win over Jackie Mo in three sets Christian the seven seed uh straight sets win over rier Parry fourth seed three set win over geki um tman over ristic straight sets one and one Zen over p uh no P got that win over Zen my apologies three and three Marie the eth seed uh fell to Carl in three sets there Russ has been tracking this season the fifth seed three set win over Travis beu over basos riera straight sets win there Erica Andria over semia straight sets Lee straight three sets over stuns the third seed blinkova six seed F to Sharma the Aussie there um 0 and five Tom banovich over Sheriff really good win there for Tom Lovich particularly because we've just shared how Sheriff made the finals the week before three sets there for tomlanovich okay Noah auki over barel in three sets and makova good for her got a win over Ka however noteworthy it was 76 and that was wow 1614 that tie break was 51 to makova then CWA did retire really good for makova to be getting those winds under her belt as we've just touched on with the rankings because if she continues to track with wins she will regain potentially that top 20 status and then it'll be very interesting if she nudges closer to the 8% okay round of 16 here all right the results we've got Zen another good win over martic 4 and four um bronzetti felt to Christian three and two Parry over chelman three sets p over car straight sets Russ Bel to Bago straight sets Lee over on Dria in three um sham very good win over uh Tom lovic three sets very impressive all right makov very good three sets win over Noah aru all right look at this 67 62 63 that TI rack however it was six love looks like Noah augi could not keep Pace with makoba but that thre set win was going to be somewhat testing for mova nonetheless and to see how that rist is going all right that wraps up round the 16 the quarterfinals that need to go underway to finish out obviously the last couple of days of the event we've got Zang against Christian the seventh seed uh Parry the fourth seed over P we got beu and Lee that draw has opened up and Sharma over makova sharma's an Aussie she's typically been ranked outside the top 100 uh but this is going to be I think a really good I think opportunity for her given that makova is only let's say a fresh back uh but it'll also be a very good match for makova to test her level of play and how she obviously has been performing respective of obviously her results or performance at Wimbledon all right so that wraps up I think the initial stages of uh the PM open let's head on over to the final event on the wbj tour this week which is the Hungarian uh Grand Pricks based in Hungary right again we've just got the earlier rounds to touch on schneer is the number one see just to put the rankings into perspective here schneer three sets win over Stoler marova over babos straight sets danovich uh fell to bond first round danovich was tracking I believe prior to the French she's had some um let's say okay some really good results in there uh but she hasn't been able to replicate that level of play or maintain that Peak Performance level that allowed her to have that those breakthrough results um so we yet to see um danovich begin to track to really be on the radar this season okay um oima um fell to um sidal um 6110 unfortunately um Yama the seven seed retired in that second set H Wang the third seat over toony um six and five shakova over bulgara three sets there H per Goodwin over Kash three sets Osa the sixth seed she fell again here in the first round over Li in straight sets fretch the fifth seed felt to Avance straight sets Master over good win over saan uh straight sets there shim over over arova and three sets um top over um fell to sorz Tomo the fourth seed three sets graa the eighth seed fell to lamin straight set Monet over top straight set Tim fever um Goodwin over wal to at 5 and 76 73 in that tie break and tooba is the second seed she fell to sovich in three sets very interesting but you can note the level of inconsistencies there with those respective seedings other than schneer she has been tracking as we previously touched them all right round the 16 results schneer she did get the win over macova 3 and three um sidal over Bond 5 and five Wang the third said fell to shmakov um six and three uh per retired against lies um that was in the second set there um then we've got Evan asan over masarova three sets um Sor be Tomo the fourth seed she fell to Schmid over lens over Monet in straight set and sasnovich um over toaa um straight sets there all right so we've got the quarters onwards to play out Schneider is definitely in line I believe for her third title maybe this season I know she's definitely got that one I feel feel like she did capture that second one um but I'm going to just say that one and with a maybe but this is really impressive I would say if Schneider does get this win here this week it really might push her inside the top 25 and she's really on the cusp very impressive very dangerous leading into the US Open and to think the Australian Open her ranking where it was I believe outside the top 90 around that range you know what's really interesting here guess who else may their breakthrough when they're around oh they started the year ranked around 80 in the world s Tech really interesting and what I'm really excited about is that our data captured Schneider at the beginning of the Season really impressive here and I love it when I think that coincides all right so quarterfinal lineup we've got Chada against sidal shakova over Lies avanessian over schmidova and lmen over sasnovich so I think without a doubt schneer is the favorite there and she's really the only seed remaining okay that wraps up all of the events um on the WTA tour let's head on over here now to the 0p tour we're going to start with the rankings before we look at the results all right at 100 up 22 points is comana we know his standout performance at Wimbledon really was impressive so definitely deserving um of cracking into the top one 123 years of age from Argentina all right McKenzie is back um Donald McKenzie McKenzie McDonald my apologies is back three places to 99 goffin's had a 15-point regression to 98 in the world Ramos venos 10 points up to 97 so he has cracked the top 100 um Adam Walton he had a really good performance at Wimbledon um he's an Aussie um sixo progression there 95 in the world o Donald's back 1494 in the world um kazook 6o progression 92 all right van vany Zan schop 10o progression 87 konak is up 5 to 88 um coric is up 5 to 84 fich 13o uh regression 83 bartini unfortunately has had a 23 Point regression to 82 in the world really I think crossing my fingers for bartini to continue to track because he was just inside the top 100 he made those inroads but he's lost obviously a lot of ground not being able to achieve potentially the results he was hoping for at Wimbledon but in all fairness he's only let's say being back recently being able to um almost achieve a certain level of play that he was used to but not quite so I think time will tell whether or not bartini will track back inside the top 50 then top 30 then top 20 or um if that bit of a struggle continues but without a doubt he still understands I would say a number of the keys but in uh his ability to integrate them into his game it's uh probably seld them probably only about one or two maybe three at this stage all right for guini we know he had a good performance at wimbl than a 14o uh progression to aiding the world very welld deserving we know fanini um has been ranked inside the top 10 previously even though his level of play does not correlate with that ranking his current level of play and how well he's been playing definitely is most likely deserving of that top 30 ranking potentially top 20 all right duck workor is up three points to 78 Diaz austa has a 10-point regression 77 bista a good 37 point progression to 75 bista auts also previously been ranked inside the top 10 he's having a pretty good um season of late he was ranked just outside the top 100 just inside the top 100 he's really solidified himself now and he's had some I think really healthy performances all right Bergs is up nine places to 73 say both Wild's up 2 to 72 ultima's up 971 RoR is up 17 to 70 in the world really impressive nal's gaining some more traction fiveo progression 68 suin is a 63 Point regression 67 now in the world renden neck a 10-point progression 66 vage for a point progression 65 per cells for at 64 now in the world muton 6o regression 61 cotop 7 point uh regression 60 Evans 2o progression 58 um now we're almost inside the top 50 here Carell's Bay 10o progression here to 54 Nakashima 12 point progression 53 and Seno um two point uh progression to 52 in the world all right 50 we've got oftener fivepoint regression kovic is a fivepoint progression 47 okay giron steady at 46 and giron is notth he is a player who has been tracking this season marizan back to at 45 mesh perigot he's had a very good standout performance especially remember I think Wimbledon was his first I or his second uh Grand Slam after obviously his performance at the French 14o uh progression now to 44 in the world and what's so impressive is that mes perard was ranged outside the top 100 probably 3 months ago now and he is on a whirlwind 21 oneyear old and he's really been able to back up those results which is even more impressive definitely one to keep an eye out on poin a fourpoint progression 43 nor steady at 42 davage Fen is a fivepoint progression 41 all right anali's back 439 Maxs up 138 Leonard stuffs up 4 to 37 right D's up 2 to 35 zang's up 4 to 34 sondo back 333 a lot of M this week okay mon is up to 31 there Tio is back one unfortunately he's at 30 but he's definitely deserving I think to be ranked closer to the top 20 say inside the top 25 especially after that five Set uh result even though he fell that's a five set against elarz all right even though El is number three in the world he's backto back grand slams that was a huge result for Francis I I think the best match he's played um so far this season all right Arthur Phils he's up six points to 28 I thought he definitely deserved to be bumped more up than six points especially after his Wimbledon results but he's definitely along with MES perard one to watch especially not just this season but I'll say the seasons to come both are very young 21 and 20 years of age respectively J uh drap is up 2 to 26 in the world all right Jar's back 3 to 23 quar is back 1 to 22 kakenov is at 1 to 20 one to Billow is the is 20 but he has taken a onepoint regression there all right likewise with agore Alys he's at 18 but that one point regression uh run is back to 17 a two-point regression mati's up nine points um to 16 in the world definitely deserving after obviously his results at Wimbledon it'll be really I think interesting if ma is able to maintain those results and this ranking for the rest of the season because so far this season he had not been uh peing or playing at this level he was a player on the radar that we were tracking when we were tracking the likes of c and elarz same with cter but C and elarz really push forward similar with run although run has now regressed um they still decent ranking inside the top 20 but mati and quarter they did not track quickly but both of those players now this season have breaked into the top 20 quarter obviously slightly outside now mating now inside really important to note that all four or five of these players have been let's say um tracked intermittently over the best part of the last two to three seasons okay hur's up 1 to 15 now to the top four team really important here Shelton and Paul 1413 respectively Tissa passes back one 1 to 12 Fritz is up 1 to 11 and I'll tell you why later cuz all all three of those names have been mentioned in this article out this week because the top 10 still needs a slight correction so we'll get there shortly noteworthy uh the difference between um I will say 12 and 11 is a matter of let's say 90 points at this stage little bit more of a distance difference between 12 and 13 probably around that just over 200 points there but a little bit more tighter when we get into the top 10 okay with less than 70 points differentiate or the difference between dimitro and Fritz so dimitro top 10 definitely deserving to be in the top 10 Rood back inside the top 10 this season I'll say deserving he's back 1 to n in the world rublev He's Back 2 to8 in the world that is a somewhat of a correction rublev however is the player that should not be ranked inside the top 10 may upset some people but his performance so far this season is not aligned with um or uh synonymous with the top 10 tennis ranking especially when we're looking at other players in that mix okay her herx has been tracking this season potentially a little bit susceptible but he's steady at six Deo he's having his breakthrough season we have been saying this for a number of season we've been following Alex with our data and we said French Open was going to be his breakthrough quarterfinal tick we also said or I also said Wimbledon he will get to the quarterfinals maybe further tick had that walkover obviously had to withdraw against jovic for that quarterfinal obviously match very close potentially to making it to the semifinals we know what Alex is capable of and how he has wins against Jo to his name but most importantly here I will say the top six but we'll focus on the top five is a healthy correction when we've got CA jovic alarz zarev meev all five of those players very important are deserving of their place inside the top five a little bit questionable here will be elz now with two slams to his name this season at three cner with one slam to his name at one jovic we know his record definitely deserving obviously of to being a finalist there potentially it could read elre joov or sinner or elz sinner than jovic what's really important here is jovic has not won a title this season elz has won a title this season plus two grand slams C has won I believe multiple titles this season plus a grand slam and that's why he is at number one even though he hasn't able to to say replicate those uh Grand Slam results um he has outside Grand Slams ELR however has not been tracking as consistently this season outside Grand Slams whereas sinner has been and that's a really important differentiator but I also think the hardc season will correct whether or not elar finds form between the events uh well essentially that take part between the grand slams really important because he's yet to show that he did initially in the earlier hardcourt season but his performance has fluctuated since then similar to jovic almost but still ahead jovic even though he is two in the world his results this season have not correlated with that ranking up until his wimbl and finless result and yes a good result at the French Open really important to be mindful of this C despite I think that earlier loss at wiblin to Mev he was still tracking and making it into the second week um and I think that's what's I think um really important zarev sure he had obviously he felt to Fritz there Fritz was definitely deserving of that but we know that zarev was still delivering that level of play meev as well look he got that win over Center and I kept saying meev was really underrated he's been let's say flying under the radar essentially All Season he's been showing up consistently quarterfinals semifinals in almost well a lot of the events more so that say than other players Alex has been there too he's had some earlier losses but he has been showing up her and rud and dimitrov all three of them or four of them have been showing up um rud not so much lately there's been a little bit of a lull there and he is definitely a part of that 2% true regress rublev should be bumped out when that correction does take place I would argue even though Fritz is 11 he was ranked inside the top 10 last season regressed at the beginning of the season and we did say that was going to happen and deservingly so but he did track back into the top 10 because his performance started track as well and I've noted in um this article that's come out or is coming about to come out is that Fritz performance and that we've learned this especially this season it's cyclical which means he has those paks then those troughs have those paks than those troughs but his recent paks really I think correlate with that top 10 ranking even if he remains inside that 2% um inside the top 10 he still deserves to be inside the top 10 toass yes deservingly to be around that 12th ranking r range at the moment rublev I would AR argue inside the top 15 but outside the top 10 for that correction to take place okay let's dive in all four of these events are underway this week the biggest however is in Hamburg so the Hamburg open is a 500 event a number of rounds to get through here all right zarev is the number one seed okay round of 32 first rounds first really good win two and two over d qualify Gaston three sets over Diaz austa Cabo three sets over Altima that second set though it was 64 6763 that second set tie break was 86 Zang the eighth seed um 766 love over sa bir wild Sur lundo the fourth seed good win over Kama but remember Kama even though he a lucky loser in Hamburg he had that breakthrough result at Wimbledon Quan um fell to Mar 3 set um Blane qualifier three set win over Popin very noteworthy there Martinez a win over anal the six seed in straight sets darer seventh seed a three set win over hatut um Miker F to sheno 36th Lovich over migan Alves 36th bayz over Copa three two straight sets all right Phils very good win over Mona three sets there Jerry over bgs three and six uh Trang over ofner straight sets and run is the second seed here um over marazan 4 and four very important here we're going to get back to that all right uh round of 30 uh 16 here so second round but round of 16 um zarev over Gaston three sets uh somewhat interesting there Zang over cabal straight sets cundo over Martinez straight sets Martinez over blanch three sets uh 64 love 675 darer over sheno three sets Bez the third seed over Lovich three sets Phils over to Jer Phils is fifth seed now run again over tretti a qualifier 4 and three which really sets up the quarterfinals okay so we'll look at the quarterfinals so what's to come here zarev against the eight seed Zang that's going to be very interesting there obviously Z is going to be favored for this event suro over Martinez D over Bez seventh and third seat respectively but Phils the fifth seat over run now this is going to be somewhat of a test there because we know how well Phils plays played at Wimbledon how well he has been tracking run he started to find some form but his ranking has regressed which is noteworthy and again what the data does support however and I have touched on this in recent weeks we're waiting for that turning point that Rune potentially is on the cusp of potentially a progression if he begins to find the form where is um backing up those key patterns of play so what's noteworthy here given run is the second seat if he makes the final and faces off against the Rev I think that would be a very healthy result and pushing back inside uh the top 15 in the world all right that racks uh wraps up the Hamburg open but really important I think to be mindful of them the quarterfinals there so we will revisit that uh next week all right the next events are all 250s and this one is at Newport so the infosis Hall of Fame open uh Rhode Island all right so the round of 32 here noteworthy is the number one seat is manarino by first round opela wild card over Leen three sets Harris a qualifier over Dio straight sets McDonald over um rinka is the eight seed that's a three set miton third seed by first round cresy over elbow three sets kovich over Mayo straight sets Ren the seven seed over Muki straight sets vukich over Wong in straight sets um speri over two straight says I apologize for the miss pronunciation I am positive I have so I really do apologize there uh Quinn over pman um three sets there Eubanks is the fourth SE by first round Nakashima over naara straight sets bolt qualified well done over menic really good for his ranking two and four we know we heard the story about Vault for Wimbledon he is an Aussie and I'm really rooting for him to track and essentially track inside the top 100 potentially top 180 to come pair over Zada three sets and gon the second seed with a buy all right round of 16 second round here um that has unfolded we've got manarino fell to opela we know what Riley has previously been capable of and he has a wild card here I'm not sure why he has been out but really good win for him over manarino in three sets especially because we know manarin he can pick up those scalps from time to time McDonald over Harris the qualifier straight set mitchson third seed over Cy in straight um renck the seventh seed fell to kovich in three vukich good win over um spir SP the Wild Card my apologies again for the pronunciation okay that was um in straight set um Eubanks good win over Quinn in three bolt really good win over Nakashima the fifth seed 7664 gon over PE three sets there and gon y second set really good okay we do have the quarterfinals that have unfolded here um in the infus Hall of Fame open oela over McDonald in three sets mitson over kovic 4 and four um vukic and Eubanks are yet to play and bolt and gon are yet to play look gon is favored there but bolt is a qualifier you love seeing those breakthrough results and Bolt's having a really good couple of weeks so Tai will tell all right so we will track back to the quarterfinals um in next week's um episode but really impressive results here and look we've already got essentially the number one seed is out um and we've got gon obviously is the second seed uh miton is the third seat and eubank's the fourth seat so we've got three of the four left in action but I'm probably going to call a bit of an upset there all right we've got gustad here so the Swiss open underway um t pass is the number one seed by first round medovich over hustler in three theme fell to varas really rooting for theme to finish the season out on a high we know it's his final season bit of heartbreaking we have touched on that in previous episodes I think when that was announced um it'll be it's really a shame to see him go but I can uh empathize with theme more than anyone what injuries mean and they can do to us and sometimes it's just better to time uh call time on your career rather than going through that heartbreak of that Rehabilitation process and then having it come back um again and again and again okay forini good win over drog four and uh three a Elis is the third seed by first round halfman over mon D aloro lucky loser in three Galan over civa in straight sets bartini good win for over cashing 6476 that was 72 there struff is the fifth seat over Ramos Vinos 6 and six that's a tight one um ryal wild card over Barry is 6 and five banded xan scha 3 and three over Stricker at Chev is the fourth seed by where Rinker oh he's the eighth seed he did fall to clim in three tight sets there halis is a qualifier 76 76 over gas gain that was 747 five respectively H are qualify over napoo in 3765 776 and hbert is the second seed by first round all right um round of 16 tisas he did get that win over Movic six and three forini over varas in three sets or Alis over halfman in straights bartini good got a win over Galan in straight sets um stuff fifth seed good win over Ryle but seven SE 676 8671 okay at Chev over V Dan shop in three sets H over Klein in three and hide the qualifier has upset the second seed Humbert in three sets 67 62 63 okay which means we do have the quarterfinals to take place um but they are not in action yet very going very interesting okay tisas over forini that is going to be very very interesting there finini potentially could get upset let's see how tas's level of Play Tracks we haven't seen I think that level for a few weeks we know tsipas was essentially in sync with Rod PR of the French they were sharing titles and making the finals with one another and exchanging one win for the other so he was really I think um almost correlating with that top 10 ranking before regressing outside the top 10 wasn't able to perform I think at that level at the French and he was have a perform at the level um at Wimbledon or I think the events between where we've seen him in action so potentially if he lifts his game up to where we saw him prior to the French and those results then maybe CU he does have titles to his name this season okay aore Alisa May will face off against bartini really good opportunity for bartini to get some more points back for his ranking agore Alis has been playing well this season then we've got struff and Chevy so the fifth and fourth seed respectively and Hells and Hyde um make up the other eight and both of Hells and Hyde are qualifies so that's going to be a breakthrough rankings for both of those players um for the player who progresses through uh to the semi-final so that bottom half has opened up although Fifth and fourth seed are there top half we've obviously got Tisa pass and agore Alis first and third seed respectively but look finini and bartini the Two Italians potentially it will cause an upset or could cause all right the final event is in bustard so the nordia open all right we've got the round of 32 rublev is the first seed for perspective all right and by first round tante over Faria three sets um yet EV over Muller five and five carabell bay in over swiland the six seed in three says g sport is the third seed by Daniel fell to scar of the qualifier in three sets um Roa over Ugo Carabelli three sets B guess is the seventh seed over parino straight sets Nori the fifth seat over kovalich straight sets um Nadal yes we know he's in action he did get a wild card really good win over Bor another wild card three and four Nagal over yur 4 and three naon is the fourth seed by cotov the eighth seed over Garin in three sets um aoic over van Ash straight set Monti over Korea straight set and Rod is the second seed and he did get a buy all right round of 16 has been in action rubler fell to Taron you've heard me say it only a short time ago around the rankings in the top 10 no you're the number one said top 10 you're losing in a 250 in the second round that's no and we know he has been falling short outside the top 10 sure inside the top 15 inside the top 20 between probably 15 20 but we've got other players inside the top 20 outside the top 10 who have been tracking ahead of rubl okay in all fairness I've had I've said the same about say the likes of run and Fritz on different occasions Antipas this season but also supported when they were tracking and or regressing so let's see if rublev uh begins to track again or continues to progress um car B Bay over yet three sets in that round of 16 results um skatov over grein B the third seed in three sets borest the seventh seed over Roa in three Nadal really good win over Nori the fifth seed four and four I think that's a really impressive result for Nadal and it's a really good opportunity for Nadal to get those wins under his belt we know the Olympics is going to be that Capstone event for him I'm just um excited to see him back in action I'm looking forward to the Olympics to see him in action um he's definitely going to be missed on to there's a huge part of me that hopes this isn't his last um uh season on tour but again touching on injuries uh discussions around themes obviously final season can definitely I think empathize with Nadal and that obviously that cycle and managing I think it's quite vicious and Nadal's he has achieved I think um the the remark able um with as far as the clay court goes but also wedding Slams on um all uh surfaces as well um I'll definitely have to write something hopefully about that um when that time comes okay Nagal fell To None the fourth seed so Navone 4 and two over Nagal um Cotto fell to adovi the qualifier in three and rud fell to montier you heard me say it again a short time ago that rud similar to tisas even though he's inside the top 10 and that two he's basically susceptible to that 2% that we talk about in how to develop a top 10 tennis ranking because even though he really was tracking with tsipas rud has been able to maintain that form but he's starting to regress now and we've got players on their heels outside the top 10 from the lights of um Fritz Paul Shelton even who have started to perform more so I'll say Fritz and Paul definitely and also in this article come out we said Paul potentially could be our first new barrier break at this season after deor who was our first so Paul would be um our second slight correction there but we know Fritz has been inside the top 10 then went outside the top 10 so really important I think differentiation between the two however um Paul's definitely tracking and it's really a matter of time if R um regresses does not maintain um his level of play that correlates with that top 10 rank cam rev pushes out there's room for Fritz and Paul to bump themselves into the top 10 quite comfortably okay uh that wraps up we'll have to track back and revisit from the whats in um in action for the quarterfinals um first um we'll touch a look Taron against Carabella spay skatoff vers Ballas Nadal vers naoni uh the fourth seed and jovic over montiero uh noteworthy is that the seventh seed and the fourth seed are left in action obviously the fourth seed against Nadal huge opportunity for Nadal to win a title this season because um rubv and rud are out his biggest competitors there so I'm definitely rooting for Nadal to claim I think a title this season and he definitely obviously potentially could I think it's a matter to do with his Health um if Nadal stays healthy we know what he's capable of um and it's definitely a really good warm-up event I think um for the Olympics which is really I think only a fortnite away wow time flies Okay that really wraps up today's episode thank you so much for tuning in we've gone over all the rankings and results on
