New Zealand Family try real Texas BBQ for the first time! (TERRY BLACK'S)

Intro what's up guys and Welcome to our first ever Texas barbecue oh my goodness I cannot wait for this like this is just this is probably the peak of the food Journey for me is this the reason we came to Texas U probably one of the main reasons can you guys remember all the times that we reacted to videos now living room down in New Zealand looking at all the barbecue the brisket the sausage the wings the ribs everything being made God and how badly our mouths are like watering we just like wish we were there right now and now we're finally here here so let's go inside and try out some Texas barbecue for the first time ever [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] go [Music] Food what my God how insane is that all the sides we got we got one of everything is it one of everything sides Y what is this oh my goodness you know what we literally got one of everything on the menu where do we start um I think we start on the sides sides go do dessert after so we'll see start on the side we not start with the main event the brisket no man you got to save that for last really yeah okay for sure me and Dad are going to try fried rice I'm going to go in with the potato salad it looks insane pretty sure it's fried rice Mexican rice okay ready all right okay okay It smash it oh you lost he lost it oh oh that's interesting that's good that's interesting that's really good really good now now we got the beans Dan we're going to leave it there just try it I think this has got brisket inside the beans guys oh okay yep yep yep I'm in I'm in okay Mexican R bashash you can taste the meat in there really let's try that one okay I'm trying the green beans I think this is potato salad okay did you guys try the potato salad what do you think so good it's amazing okay the green beans wow those green beans they're like garlicky some meat oh that's good Prett good that's good oh that's really good the potato salad good oh the sides are fresh man the sides are hitting is it banana pudding yes and Peach PE pie and oh my goodness bash that corn is oh oh they're good I'm not the biggest fan of green beans but those are actually really good these are delish deny L one bash It smash it okay okay wait corn corn oh that's an interesting sauce in the corn actually such such a good COA really interesting it's almost like a a loose Mayo it's really good wow I'm trying COA oh yeah we haven't tried COA yet I really like that yeah that's nice with the paprika too Smash It smash it I want to know what sauce that is oh man that COA is so fresh is the COA fresh okay going for the main event side no I'm getting pickles y dad mac and cheese b bash It smash it wait you can put your pickles with your meat ooh that might be the best Mac and Cheese we've had so far really I'm quite fussy on my Mac and Cheese honestly you you the flavor the it's not like it's not it's like a nice um Saucy mac and cheese it's not like that baked dry one no it's good it's really good eh oh that that that pickles a little really good oh that's that's a good pickle it really makes the mac and cheese is insane eh oh man oh man that is so good oh man America has turned this guy into a foodie okay guys so you Taste Test saw that me in Atlanta down St tried to the Turkey already that's way better than our that that can't be turkeyy it's really juic it's not dry at all it's really so tender and juicy yes sir wow so here you go you guys try that I'm going to try it again try use your fingers yeah just use your fingers who cares it was so good so I'm going to try Smash It smash it that is not tury that's what I said to them I said that's not turkey is that what turkeyy is supposed to taste like there is no way are we getting fleeced in New Zealand it's so tender so juicy that is not like a bird that is so tasty doesn't even taste like a bird I don't think I could eat turkey in New Zealand again no after trying this no way that is so good that is insane now I see why Americans are like I'll have a turkey sandwich I'm like oh why would you choose it yeah well if this is what's in there exactly wow it's got to be barbecue turkey though so what is this burnt ends burnt inss burn burnt like it's you know when you we know when we just saw the brisket cooking it's like the outer layer of it the co yeah so you know you get to the end of the brisket and you got like a little tiny chunk at the end yeah it's not the same I think this is jalapeno and cheese sausage oh no okay here's jalapeno and cheese bash It smash it oh little bit of crunch in there oh my goodness that flavor bit of spice little bit oh that flavor can I get past I have never had a sausage that good in my life a good flavor okay that's a bit spicy it is a bit spicy but I don't mind it that flavor is amazing it's not spicy to me it's like such a Punchy flavor but I'm excited for the other that is so good I know it's ridiculous that was a little spicy okay you ready It smash it that's good the Smoky flavor this is getting ridiculous barbecues that I think that's just how sausages were supposed to be made from the beginning of time yeah from when human history began yeah so we've all been doing it right this is the origins of the sausage this is so good okay guys it's time to move on look at the juices so make sure make sure when you take some get us some of that coat that outer layer okay who's ready yep me I'm ready oh my goodness beef beef short rib this is the dinosaur bone bash It smash it oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh how am I ever going to be able to eat me again wow D how do we come back from this how how do we leave how how am I ever going to cook a meal and be okay with it again how am I going to leave this place that's really good that would I'm like I'm it's so good it's so good I'm stressing about how good it is I just I just I just got hit with like a wave of Devastation that you can't come back here yeah that once we leave this place it's all over a wave of Devastation I have to go back to eating regular everyday food pardon me that's my food it's all that flavor on the top I nevered that coating eh that Co I don't know what it is like pepper but it's not even like pipper and spicy spicy oh my gosh that Co it's just full of flavor it is so good this is the rib ready bash It smash it deny loves ribs too so whatever his opinion is it will be very high it's like sweet wo wow that is really good that's even better it's even better it's even better right oh my oh my goodness it just got better how get oh my that is the best rubs I've ever had in my life best ribs I've ever had in my life wow oh that's so good oh my good and can I just say wherever we go I always try and find ribs so I'm having ribs a lot he has ribs everywhere I've had a lot of racker ribs in my life and these these take the crown orders the ribs everywhere I did not expect it but we just took it up a level from the beef short rub I know so now we're going to try the burnt ends okay okay I'm kind of nervous to try these honestly I'm thinking burnt there you go n this is this is the very edge of the brisket okay bris and to be honest I'm going I'm I'm going to let everybody on a little secret whenever I'm eating like any type of meat or anything the edges the more cooked Edge is my favorite part okay I think this I don't know how but this might beat the ribs B okay bash it Smash It smash it back that's good the way it keeps leveling up oh my goodness what how how is this happening oh I was expecting them to be burnt I'm really scared for the brisket now is that the brisket yes the brisket well that we just had the burnt end of the brisket but now we're going to get the juicy middle of the brisket the actual proper cup bash it bash it bash it Smash It smash [Music] it so good it's so tender and juicy that the way it falls apart your mouth and like just melts away like nothing so yum wait rip rip it apart the flavor is actually nicer look at this look how easily it just comes apart that's nah that is a piece of meat right there that's so good I love it how all the it all just melts away in your mouth and you're just left with this really little flavorful crust you on the outside this has actually turned into like a really sort of like emotional experience for me I'm not going to lie are you feeling teary I just had such high expectations like really high expectations and when when tell me how often it doesn't life when you have really high expectations and then those expectations get absolutely smashed out of the park when you married me true and that was an emotional experience and this is very much the same oh it's like marrying me wait are you crying or laughing he's laughing it's hard to know at this point I'm like do you know what really just gives me the faintest sort of bit of reassurance is that we're only a 15-hour direct flight away from Houston I would not put it past him to fly just for the bris yeah I might have to just one weekend I'll just be like I'll see you guys early next week yeah I need some barbecue I'm off to Terry black I need some Terry blacks I wouldn't blame you that lemonade is amazing too can I try it it's amazing lemonade for me that's the perfect barbecue drink it's like light crisp refreshing and it cuts through all the meat and all the sides it's got a bit of citrus twang yeah it like cleanses the pallet too yeah it does it's so good okay guys so next up Dessert Test we've got the Oreo chocolate mousse Oreo chocolate mousse okay bashash smash oh wow that's like that's rich I was not expecting their desserts to be good because their meat so good I know like you can't be good at more than one thing I know how how many places have we been to where one thing's been amazing yeah and then it got lit down by something yeah exactly like it's just science you can't be good at everything wow God but that is amazing wow pean pie next okay we ready people is it pan or pean is it pean or is it pan I different in different states yeah probably okay ready it it oh it's like caramel that's a good one perfect flavoring the crust perfect amount of like I love it it holds together you know it's warm and gooey on the inside yeah I'm all about that that's very good oh my good good are you a fan of peai yeah do you like that good okay guys peach cobbler time oh I'm super excited for this one okay wait are we saving banana pudding for last yes banana pudding is going to be the crown Jael but guys never had it so we are unfortunately going to beat Atlanta's kitchen episode this was going to be our Georgia food but maybe now maybe now we can pick something else for Georgia or we can make it and compare it to this know why couldn't do that cuz we couldn't get Georgia peaches and how can you do something when you can't get their actual peaches exactly we haven't been in peach season in so long I know so also this is supposed to be enjoyed with a scoop of ice cream but obviously if we had bought ice cream with this it would have been like a puddle by now totally so we'll get a pretty good idea of it P okay ready it and smash this back oh my goodness that is outstanding that's so good are I want know are these Texas peaches or Georgia Peaches I don't know but they're good oh this is the first dessert we're going for back oh it's good I love the cinnamon and sugar on top too it was it was really good do you know why I like it it's not overpoweringly sweet yeah and it has a lot of peach flavor natural flavor yeah yeah the natural Peach flavor yeah the um the base or the part doesn't actually overpower anything can I just say that ever like we watched a few documentaries on YouTube about like pit Masters and different barbecue red joints in uh in Texas and in different parts of America Y and one thing that they all had in common was the banana pudding a lot of them did anyway and I feel like for me personally the banana pudding was on equal excitement level to the meat for the barbecue and also can I just say I'd never heard of banana pudding before we watched I know and I love banana flavored banana I love banana smoothies banana you know ice cream banana everything I am so curious what banana pudding tastes like okay guys grab some of the banana pudding and this is our final taste test of the video guys and our first time ever trying a banana pudding of any kind oh my goodness banana pudding's about to happen guys W is that like oh there it is I'm eating little bits of banana in there now let me just let me you're missing about so oh there's actual bits of banana I know okay to me why does it kind of taste like um banana loaf better it's like a banana it does like a what it tastes like when you make a banana loaf it tastes like the B oh yes it tastes like the better you know what it tastes like it tastes like banana better mixed with custard yeah yeah that's what it tastes like is that what it is I don't know but that's like that's the Vibes I'm getting oh my goodness wow that's so good that is really good what an absolutely amazing experience I know oh my we need to rate it I know how how are we going to rate it well I've got my number yeah I know you do I've got my number yeah me too all right are you ready for this y okay so we'll start with Mom and finish with me okay ready well and this is for the whole experience yes time to rate the whole barbecue okay first Texas Southern barbecue that we've ever had in our lives okay time to read it ready set go 10 10 10 40 out of did that actually just happen that's the first time did that actually just really happen that's the first time I thought there was going to be one of us it was like n nine cuz of something else but wow go through your thoughts what were your thoughts on the whole thing me was the best meat ever had and he doesn't love he's not a meaty guy were really good mac and cheese was good for for the jalapeno and desserts were really tasty yummy nice for me personally everything was everything was strong everything was good it wasn't like a place where you're like oh that wasn't as everything was good the sides were all good the all good the meat were all good it was everything was topnotch amazing I think there was for me the reason why I give it a 10 out of 10 is because there was no point in time that I felt a little bit let down no and I think with everything that we have reviewed so far there's always been some that I'm like oh yeah yeah I I feel a bit let down by that for me this was the perfect experience because let's just say we started with the sides right yeah and we we went like this and we hit the mac and cheese probably the best Mac and Cheese we've ever had then we went onto the meat platter started down here with the turkey got our way up to the brisket and it just nothing ever came down and and then desserts kept going up and up and up and finished on the banana pudding and each cobbler and it was just AB mindblowing expence my life my life has changed from today onwards now yeah you'll never eat my cooking again yeah I'm going to reject everything everything you make everything was yeah do you know what I'm left thinking what a privilege to be here I know do you know what I mean it's all thanks to these guys too yeah exactly so again thank you so much to you guys for allowing us to do this uh for a job it's kind of crazy to even say that as we're sitting here in Dallas Texas eating barbecue for the first time and to all of you guys that we've met on the streets in the hotels at the fair at Disneyland wherever we've been and you've come up to us we appreciate you huge thank you to you guys in the wild I hope we lived up to your expectations I hope we
