we were all Fierce competitors and you know we helped one another we weren't here in defeat you know we were here in winning you know man gets it away to C the lock forward tries to go straight through Brad street put down and Brad street appeared to throw a punch Referee colpus on the spot doesn't stop playing and C throws one and oh Brad streight down cot covers but some George form up for an allout attack there was no you know wealthy backgrounds we're all from lower class uh poor background and I think that that's got a lot to do with why we were you know we want to do with our lives and come above you I remember the first game he played against B man at Red for AAL papers next day said a star was being born but I knew beforeand you know he was always going to be a star he just had all the elements of a great player ladies and gentlemen the 14th the modal is Ron C [Applause] well it means everything I was certainly overcome with emotion I thought it was absolutely fantastic and I'm I'm a bit taken for words at the moment Jesus i' been mentioned every time that never got there so it's it's good to achieve something like that you know two men with a long pass to cot stepping inside McDonald and Morgan he penetrates until taken by the bandaged Wy I started playing with s in the early 60s in the Jersey flag team which that's where I met the great Bob McCarthy there he played in it too his nickname was solid and the reason I call him solid was because he'd get in front of the mirror sometimes get out of the shower and he'd stand in front of the mirror and he I used to go like that look at that I was a skinny like you know I was tall skinny full of it you and that's I used to say yeah you're about as solid as a say biscuit I never thought I'd be crying when I was 80 but I am but uh yeah it's to me it's uh just Sensational I never thought it have happened I mean i' I've been at this function a few times and uh and this time I've sort of I've got the gong so that's that's really good to me and I really appreciate it thank you all the the grand finals we won the the great people that that I met there and and all the the good things that go with rugby league are all about sou and I think that's what helps them be be such a great Club as the comaraderie and which comes from from being a sou person dummying zler send scoop through a narrow Gap and he's over what can I say it's the greatest game of all keep following rugby Le CU so I'm sure that you'll get a lot of pleasure and satisfaction uh from a great game thank you [Applause]
