square as he's set to kick it [Applause] away he thought about bringing that out for take a KNE they'll bring it to the 25 Charlotte will send the offense back onto the field the big thing now don't get rattled by that last pick six David N was a big mistake uh obviously the defense took advantage of it but you got to put it behind you Jesse I'm sure you know a thing or two about throwing a pick six and and how to rebound I believe I've only thrown one in my life but yes I do because of that singular instance I'll say this you can't let that play Beat you twice you got to go out not try to get it all back here in one play Just execute the offense Brown wants the pass pressure coming and the quarterback is snowed under just a great job defensively making him go through his progressions and he really didn't have time to do it and that's exactly what you do in zone coverage you drop in your spots you read the quarterback's eyes make sure you take away that quick stuff and a great job rushing the passer and getting the sack Ball's at the 29 defense can taste getting off the field it's third and long quickly to the tight end love to see these third down conversions on offense and they're out to their own 39 yd line they pick up the first down on the drag route I know that seems like a simple route but it's actually a lot more complex than what it looks like because that route changes based on whether it's man or Zone if it's man coverage he's flying across the field if it's Zone he's got to sit down over the ball in a soft spot giving his quarterback a place to go with it nice job of and he breaks into the open the 20 ripping off a huge chunk of yardage and he's got it just outside the 10 at the 11 every time he touches the ball you can feel the excitement from this home crowd cuz Palmer He Can Go the Distance with that game breaking speed you're right David he's a special talent I'll tell you these fans they come here to see this guy play cuz he has game breaking speed stuff you can't coach you saw it on that one the defense man it helps you a lot when you can be a linebacker or corner anybody and you see the QB throw the football now I can break on the football right away and limit gains like right here on this play operating in the Red Zone here on second down he's looking to throw and that's going to be incomplete a lot of contact on the play but no Flags it'll be third down well that looked like he was going to be in completion but how about the defender making the hit forcing the incompletion on Third and long try to convert through the air he took a hit as he threw it and couldn't deliver the football it's in complete and fourth Down's coming they'll have to settle for a field goal attempt from the left hash this one shouldn't be too much trouble it is perfect and guys after the field goal now they have the lead so they put the field goal on the board and about to kick it away and hoping that'll be the final points of this first half from inside his own 10 he'll try to help out their field position couldn't find a way to create that broken field as he stopped at the [Applause] 25 just a few seconds remaining here as they try to put something up before halftime off the play fake on first down keeps looking down field going to try to get it himself and he goes out of bounds after coming up with positive yardage there they'll use a timeout right before halftime maybe time for one or two more plays and still a few inches short of the sticks as they come to the line for second down to the air it's child heat and as he throws the pass is incomplete and there are two ticks remaining on the clock well this quarterback's already taking a couple shots from the pocket there's another one right there that affected his accuracy on that throw one more play before the team's head of the locker rooms they'll go to the air on Third and short he's going to fire to the left and the pass hits pick [Applause] off the 49ers will kick it away to crank up the second half yes that's one way to ensure there's no return is the kickoff goes out of bounds the officials offer the deal and the coach accepts that they will take the penalty here's this offense with a fresh set of downs off play action on first down [Applause] finds his man it's Carter he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense Spartans very efficient with this passing game you like that reys you like that I think so this is an offense that listen when you've got a guy back there that that can be efficient make no mistake they're going to run the football but when you get that Kurt Cousins guys you start to really like the offense to throw it's child escapes the pressure to his right hard running there can't make the connection in the defense putting on the heat and forcing the incompletion and you've seen this formula work at all levels of football you pressure the quarterback his numbers start to drop he's not as efficient nice job by the defense after the misfire now on second [Applause] down he's looking to throw turns it loose and it's intercepted a turnover for the defense no room to return but no problem after making a play like that and they'll have it at the 25 nice read nice break good job by the defender understanding that ball had some air in theath it takes advantage of it goes and makes the big play Charlotte has the ball back the 49ers offense will return to the field always good to get get points on a drive David but Chip Shot field goals can leave you a little empty and I think it's great to get points but the great teams get touchdowns in the red area you got to get out there this time and execute a little better on this drive you're absolutely right David and generally the best Red Zone offenses are the ones that run the ball best so let's see if they can be a little bit more physical on this drive on second down he'll try to make the connection this timee probably the toughest call on the play sheet third and long Ball's at the 25 from the gun wants to pass fires to the tight end and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes the stop they' hop to be able to pick up enough after the catch but a good stop leaves them with the fourth and short really good job by the defense being physical understanding the situation in the game the ball's going to come out quick you know that go make the tackle Force the fourth down a couple of yards short of the first down in your own territory but they are going to go for it on Fourth got it past the marker and they finally get him to the ground an easy conversion for this offense defense not exactly the perfect fourth down call there and they are showing you their intentions early in the game it's fourth down you're in your own end we're going to be aggressive and we're not just going to do this early we're going to do this all game long awesome execution on a critical down a solid pick up there before the defense is able to make the stop well this offense came into the game knowing they wanted to be physical they wanted to establish the line of scrimmage and they're running downhill right at this defense they're churning out positive yardage early they'll Run play action and he was hit just as he released it and it falls to the turf it's hard throwing in the pocket man you got bodies and 300 lb dudes falling all over the place they're trying to hit you that time the pressure got to him and they forced the incompletion couldn't find his man last time now they'll have to convert third and four the receivers often will run their route based on a side adjustment got it in the middle it's Thomas they've got it inside the 40 at the 39 as they pick up the first down really nice job there by the quarterback understanding that it's Zone coverage on third down you're going to have to find someone working into a soft spot get the ball out of your hands quickly make an accurate throw and pick up the first well done pass the sticks and he may get more and it is a chunk play a huge gain on that one before the defense brings it to an end that's excellent blocking there on the left side of the line they were able to get great push get off the line create a little bit of crease for that running back they just created a wall he had all kinds of room to run I might I might go back to that one and call that one again it works so well and the Freshman does a great job using his technique and getting the man on the ground well and on these little push passes timing is so important you're trying to snap it right as is getting a full head of steam when he gets the ball he's hitting the outside David it puts the defense in such a difficult spot you immediately have to be rotating when you see that motion so everybody's got to communicate and kind of bump over that's why offenses love to run it just it makes the defense communicate and see if you can just get him out of the spot as they get set to snap at time winding down here in the [Applause] quarter now the play fake there to make the tackle and with that we'll head to the fourth [Applause] quarter 1 michig State 14 starting off this quarter close enough to smell the goal line they'll dial up the run on first and goal he's got it down to the one yd line right on the doorstep of P yeah and I think my thought process needs to be points are good because if I get a field goal here that's fine I take the lead by more than a field goal they got to go the length of the field but I also want to run this clock let it continue to work but the goal is to get a touchdown so let's see what this offense dials up next looking for just one more yard it's
