I am Marcel Hug from Switzerland. I'm 37 years old and I am a wheelchair racing athlete. My disability is an open spine by birth, so that's why I'm in a wheelchair. I was in a training club for a wheelchair users, and then at the age of ten, I got the chance to try an old racing wheelchair. Really old bottle. And I really liked to try it. And I loved it from the beginning. And in the same year, I met my coach who I'm still training with. So I’ve been in wheelchair racing for many, many years. I like to train, I like to try to improve myself. In racing specifically I like the part of tactics, also, it's very technical, you have to be strong physically and mentally. To compete at the Paralympics for my first time was a really special experience. It was in 2004, in Athens. I was 18 years old, and I won directly my first two medals, bronze medals. So that was really unexpected. It was a great experience to be in an event like this with so many spectators and so many great athletes, big event. The last few years since Tokyo was great for me, it's a lot of success. I had no injuries, I was very happy, very lucky. I am a full professional athlete. so it means a lot to me, I train a lot every day, it's my passion. I have a lot of goals. I think it's great to have Paralympics again with spectators, that is possible again. For us, for the athletes, it's very important to have a good atmosphere. It really helps, It really helps, makes a lot of fun. And I really, really hope that at the Paralympics in Paris we have a lot of spectators as much as possible, so they can see great races, great competitions. I really hope so. It would be very, very nice if I could win a gold medal again at the Paralympics in Paris. That will be my big goal.
