Intro I think my whole life has changed. My whole life is about athletics, it's about track and field, it's about long jumping, it's about sprinting, It's about figuring out my place on the track. I'm Fleur Jong, I'm doing Para athletics and I'm from Holland. How did you start out I started in 2013 by going to a Paralympic talent day and I was just there to figure out what kind of sports are there. I now have two prosthetic legs, I don't know really what to do. I have kind of a new life, a new body. I want a new sport as well. So I started just looking there to see what's out there. There was one big day organised by our national federation where you could try different Paralympic sports. So I just went there, tried, I think five different sports. And then with athletics, the coach, he saw me he saw what I did, how I was built, how I could move. And I guess he liked what he saw because he gave me his phone number and said, whenever you're ready, come train with me, please. How did you become a winner I guess I never saw myself as a winner necessarily, and once I started picking up long jumping as well next to the sprinting, I felt my true talents. I don't know, like arriving or something. I felt like, wait, this is really something I'm good at. It's like, it's rhythmic, it's a little bit like dancing in the air. And when I was young and I still had my natural legs, I used to be a dancer, so it made me more comfortable on the track and more confident. And the confidence from the long jump I brought it to the 100m, and it just proved that I am worthy of being a winner, of breaking records, and that I'm able enough to do it. Expectations for Paris With Paralympic Games in Paris my expectations are high, because it's the first time in four years they can come to the stadium again and enjoy proper track and field and enjoy winners, enjoy records, create like a buzz all together. Of course, I'm the one performing on the track and I'm doing like my job, I'm focused. But afterwards, when you're successful, being able to share that with, you know, my parents as well, my parents, my friends and just the whole crowd. They're just so lovely and so enthusiastic. And they really have a love for the sport, I think. And I love the sport as well. Training hard is the easy part. Everyone can train hard. Everyone can work hard. That's easy. The most difficult part I think, is just keeping your cool during the competition, having your moments where you're like, okay, take a deep breath. This is what I have to do. This is my task for today and just have these couple of seconds for yourself and, you know, enjoy the crowd, be open to the crowd, but also have your moments of focus and stick to your own plan. I think sport gave me a new purpose in life, a new passion. Most of all, it really gave me a new passion. So besides it now being my day job and performing at championships is like the highlight of my year, it really gave me a passion back. I get up every day to go to the track and to go to my team and my coach, and just to work together and enjoy the time. So it really gave me a new, a new kind of life.
