BUT LOOK AT LOMPOC LEVEL IS 82. >> IN SANTA MARIA AGAIN, HUGE JOB JUST A LITTLE BIT FURTHER INLAND, PLACES LIKE SAN LUIS IN SANTA YNEZ. STILL 108 IN PAST ROWS OF 103, IN CALIFORNIA VALLEY AND AGAIN, BELIEVE IT OR NOT, TEMPERATURES AT THIS TIME YESTERDAY, WE'RE ACTUALLY WARMER IN A FEW SPOTS. >> TAKE A LOOK AT THE WIND SPEEDS. NOW. THE WINDS ARE BACK ON SHORT, TRYING TO PULL IN SOME OF THAT SLIGHTLY COOLER AIR. BUT IT'S GOING TO TAKE SOME WORK IS A SWELTERING HEAT HERE. AND SO WE STILL HAVE THE EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING IN THE INTERIOR THROUGH 8 O'CLOCK TOMORROW. 95 TO ONE 10 POSSIBLE AGAIN EVERYWHERE THERE IN THE MAGENTA. NOW THE HEAT ADVISORY LOOKS LIKE IT'S GOING TO DROP AT 8 O'CLOCK TONIGHT. A WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED TO SEE THIS CONTINUED FOR AT LEAST PART OF THE AREA. I DON'T TINK IT'LL BE AS WIDE IF IT GETS CONTINUED. AND THE FIRE WEATHER WARNING EXTENDED THROUGH SATURDAY AT 10:00PM, MEANING WARM, DRY AND WINDY IN IF A FIRE WERE TO START, IT COULD SPREAD QUICKLY. ALL RIGHT. THIS IS INTERESTING TO ANOTHER THING YOU PROBABLY NOTICED TODAY. THE SUN JUST KIND OF SEEMED LIKE ORANGE. WELL, THERE'S A GOOD REASON FOR THAT. THERE'S SMOKE DRIFTING INTO THE AREA FROM THAT FIRE UP NEAR COALINGA AND IT CONTINUES TO FILTER OUT A LITTLE BIT OF THE BLUE WAVELENGTHS. SO THAT'S WHY IT KIND OF LOOKED REALLY ORANGE AROUND THE AREA TODAY BECAUSE WE STILL HAVE THAT FIRE BURNING AWAY. OKAY. TAKE A LOOK AT THE SANTA BARBARA. HERE ARE ACTUALLY GOING TO BE HUGGING CLOSER TO THE AVERAGE. IS THAT THE RECORDS HERE IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS? I'VE GOT DAYTIME HIGH PROJECTIONS IN THE LOWER 80'S IN SANTA MARIA. YEAH, IT'S GOING TO BE 89 TOMORROW, BUT LOOK AT THIS. MAYBE JUST A LITTLE BIT COOLER THAN TODAY, ALTHOUGH THAT'S A WEIRD WORD TO USE WHEN YOU'RE STILL TALKING ABOUT 106, OK, BIG RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE CONTINUES HERE OVER THE WEST. BUT AS WE GET INTO NEXT WEEK, WE'RE GOING TO SEE A BIG TROUGH SWEEPING HERE. THAT'S THE THING THAT'S GOING TO RETURN THE TEMPERATURES BACK TO ACTUALLY AVERAGE OR BELOW AVERAGE. SO RELIEF IS COMING.
