Chiefs Football Talk Episode 2: Training Camp Insights, Depth Chart, and Season Game Predictions

almost yeah we have a preseason game on Saturday that do we really 6m 6 p.m Jacksonville Jaguars the Jaguars mhm will we get to see zamit play before they cut him are you upset hey will you shut that door over there I don't know if it's on camera or not are you upset I'm well I don't even know what's going on I just know that s Petro was talking [ __ ] like I haven't been listening or paying attention but I listened to maybe like an hour of Sports Talk this entire week and that was the hour I got it was that and that uh the most recent update is the depth chart did anybody take a look at the I looked the other day and there was no depth chart on chiefs.com guess where cadarius Tony is listed on the list of wide receivers on the depth chartom number nine guess how many they have yeah what is lrz listed as a running back or a receiver he's a running back like four or five but uh hold up is he going to make make the team I don't think prob maybe not yeah I mean but how much how much more room and how much longer Rel leash can you give the guy I mean most people are surprised he's still there now so it's not remotely a surprise he would be I mean he would be a $3 million capit if they caught him well he's got a shitload of talent and they're probably just giving it every chance to potentially work who knows yeah um so the depth J came out and that was the piece of evidence that makes everyone think lrz is going to do bad is he at the bottom of of the running back yeah I I I mean we talked a little bit about this last week but why would you run last week we were optimistic about it yeah everyone thinks he's going to get cut I uh I don't I still don't know why you're running him out there in the media as opposed to the other third Pine or whoever the other running backs got I mean it's not like they're putting him on social media right now I think he makes the he's going to end up on a practice squad like there's almost a 0% chance he's not in an NFL ra like Squad of some kind he's gonna be contracted right um so even if he and I think the expectation was he it would be a long shot to make the team when he was signed as it is for any of these International player pathway people like it took Jordan milot a while to get into the league usually they end up on the practice squad better singer than offensive lineman Jordan n pretty good offensive Lin these days uh so anyways we'll see yeah I'm excited to go to practice at find out but Saturday we'll get to see him play some football yeah live bullets on Saturday any other depth chart surprises Kingsley Su Matia yeah rookie is the listed as left tackle number one really number one yeah yeah and that was I won't say as predicted but I think everybody by all intents and purposes everybody thought he was going to start just because he's so much more athletic than W Morris um but yeah what was the last time Andy Reid had a starting rookie left tackle probably never probably unless like maybe we to like the Philly days if they drafted somebody John runan or Rion was a I'll be honest I'm didn't really love the retreads of Orlando Brown and Donovan Smith yeah was they weren't exactly over the moon was Orlando Brown really a retread yeah wasn't he we just it was a big deal that we signed him was he Pittsburgh no he was Baltimore he was B Cincinnati now but uh and Schwarz that said to be fair players vote on this at like week 13 or 14 of the season of the previous year when the Chiefs Wen wen't I guess apparently doing well or something uh yeah I mean I could yeah we were kind of fizzling late but at that point that's a stupid process no I'm not I yeah why wouldn't you do it like in may like I don't know if you release it in August why aren't you doing it like I don't know after the [ __ ] season yeah but by that logic how was Aaron roders who got hurt week one on the list at all yeah I don't know okay but how this a player voted award that top how do you not have this should just called a popularity McDuffy on that list he's not on the list lerus sne wasn't they need to rename NFL top 100 to NFL homecoming king that's what it is and Lamar Jackson was ranked two over Pat Mahomes that was ranked four right and Tyreek getting number one it's hilarious I think part of it is just kind of like let's do something different because we want to even though Mahomes is the best player where they got to it's got to be edgy trendy like let's do something different I've well because he he can't get it every year cuz we maybe like I don't know what the rest of the NFL feels about the guy I thought I think he's universally liked but maybe not oh yeah he I mean yeah he's like everyone probably wants to beat him right I don't think what's his nuts from the Bengals he's more like than Tom Brady was at this point Jamar chase that little [ __ ] yeah [ __ ] him the funny thing about him significant must you yeah but what okay I I don't like what he says Browns uh L they're I think they're going to be tough really really good defense if DeShaun Watson can just not turn the ball over they're going to be a tough team they they can stop people here K then there's hold on there's a oh no no no it's down here later right right before Thanksgiving we play um at the Panthers on November 24th then we turn around and play on the 29th so five days later wow five days later that seems a little kelse ain't playing that next yeah he needs to have one of those off Papa Bear need the Chiefs only have four G noon games all year oh [ __ ] I missed the noon kick everything else you could really pound him back and not feel it the next day on the sh did you just write them all down there yeah I wrote everything I do this every every year this is The BR three Pat would be one right so this is his claim does a three Pat and if he goes undefeated two things no one's ever done if he does an undefeated three Pat does that put Mahomes above Brady at at four I don't think you have to have both if he gets the three Pat you think a three Pat and four Super Bowls is better than seven super bowls and no three repeat yes I don't think that's crazy that's crazy T three Super Bowls in a row that's like slaps brisket is good crazy that's how crazy that sounds how can you not think I mean three in Rose bananas but four that's still I don't know I'm not good at math but like 60% of the amount of Super Bowls that Tom Brady's got but I don't know win seven I don't think that Pat's going to play as long as Tom did though I just until he's 50 why would you well then you got to we can't you know and also all right so all right do you so if he does both perfect and threee you think he's I think if he three repats that's he's still in the conversation I don't think he has to go perfect I see I don't think that either I think he's got to get one to have a chance of being considered the goat but I honestly think it's going to come down to Super Bowls like if he doesn't get seven then really yeah I think if he gets like five or six Andy three pets okay we can have the conversation I mean I think he's the greatest of all time I think if you watch names were like that uh I don't know do you expect to see a significant fall off from Kelsey or Jones this year no no because I think that they're going to save their bullets I think that those guys are going to take more time off and you're not going to notice it because they're going to be humming on offense and it's not going to really matter okay uh Jones if I had any concern about going into the year I am a little bit concerned about our defense taking a step back really yeah I mean we no more LJ I mean that's a lot of pressure on a secondary that's relatively young yeah I mean you got trp McDuffy but outside of him Jaylen Watson Josh Williams those guys are a little bit older now but they're still not like rookie Corners do we have any did we draft any cor drafted the corner we did we picked up he's going to be an all pro maybe and you know they may have a formula there's I think there's truth to that they have a formula of a of a defensive back they like yeah right a type um I don't know I think they could struggle early in the year on defense I really do well I hope not cuz you know the off well I guess I expect the offense to be significantly improved this year with the wide receiver core that we talk about um so I don't have you guys you guys look at all about what they're doing in Camp and how what it looks like I saw the video you sent me of the uh Little Hook and Ladder action the only reason I did that so pat pat been talking about this for years that Andy Reid wants to bring the rugby game into and that was it that was down the field too down and he's zinging the ball across the field to and it was they he duped everybody did you see the behind the back pass when does Mahomes do that in a game never is it this season I just don't know what is I I
