preach to each other that the enemy sometimes has been within the house and that you guys have have been your in Your Own Worst Enemy at times how nice is it to get through A Moment Like This and about this this considering yeah I mean we always say a lot of people say and we' had people say like you you sleep with you and um you know you're always going to be hardest on yourself and you're always going to be the one to you know um build yourself hard than others and sometimes that can make you a thing and lead to like you know problems but I me tonight was really good for the team because you know obviously we had some some extremely high high moments for the team good good successes and then we also had some adversity espe like later on the second half we had some penalties big plays get cback you know could have just shut the game off right there and I think for us to just continue to play a full game and and and just say kind you know the W mentality that we've had and um I think we you know adapted I think that def was really good to see what is what is your self- evaluation process in a game like this where like you said you have kind of a mixed bag yeah I mean it's hard to say now just because you know we have to go watch the tape because there's always going to be there's going to be things that you know were good calls and then there obviously going be things that were bad calls or things didn't get called but um really just have to go watch it tomorrow and to you know evaluate it and and I mean I I can guarantee you it's not as good as we think it is and that's honestly a good thing um just tells us that we have a lot of room to improve um but being able to make the corrections on a win is a lot more fun so did you guys prove something tonight I think you know um I don't think we proved anything to ourselves I think we always knew we we know what we can be but I think you know maybe to the outside world who um you know maybe not you know didn't didn't know what we are and who we are and um underestimated us I think we might have put some to them but to us we've we we've known what we can be personal for the Husker fans was it personal for you guys especially after what happened last I mean yes and no I mean they said some things obviously like on camera and I mean nothing I can say right now but they said some things after the game last year that you know we definitely you know it motivated us for sure but we just uh cared about us and we didn't care about the other team you know we just want to focus on us and the more you focus on you know them the less you focus on yourself and that's when the errors come and mistakes are made and um I think coach Ru just really emphasized to be able to f on us and not them and that that's why that's what's going to lead us to success it's been a while since you guys were two and0 I think about eight years yeah so what does it mean just to be two and0 that be feeling pretty good and kind of reassuring that all your hard work was paying off yeah I mean it's nice uh two and0 um but really you know we have to look at as you know we're you know we just went one and0 this week with one and0 next week obviously know it's coach talk but it is really true honestly um just being able to focus on the next opponent next week you know obvious obviously we'll grade the tape tomorrow but after tomorrow really after tonight U we got to just focus on the next opponent and get ready for them but it does feel good um obviously momentum going into any game is nice so be able to take that into you and I um should be good atmosphere is pretty cool oh yeah it was fun REM me of Michigan a few years back how did it how did it feel to have a first half like that where there was all this build up for this game atmosphere great couldn't have gone any better for you yeah could it really couldn't have gone any better I mean you know marching down the field scoring and then Tommy getting the pick six you know on their what three yard line four Y Line when they threw that that that hitch to the to the field um and just just the momentum carrying off into into the quarters and you know the the rest of the game was really nice and just be able to have that you guys have talked a lot about complimentary football the pi six prime example how much did that play into this game I mean I think it was really good for us as a team um you know we we went down scored came remember the exact series when we went down scored and then um uh pinned him back on yeah we pinned him back on a punt you know with you know Brian having a great punt it was complimentary to us um you know and not going four three and out and then the defense pinning the back and then picking picking the ball off you know just having those those those steps of like momentum leading up and it's just really nice you mention mention theen how surprising was it that those CR up how do you shake that off bring back yeah I mean you just gota I don't know really kind of have to in the moment to forget about it um you know you can't you don't want to hold on to it I mean I had the penalty the false start and I was I was mad for a little bit but you know you have to you have to just um forget about it and and focus on what's next obviously like I said we'll talk about it tomorrow but uh just being able to move forward after the penalties and not have it hold you back to the next series for defense or offense that surprising Ian had it been an issue at all 12 no I mean we have rough set practice um and we haven't had any like that get called but like I said I think some obviously aren't going to be great calls and you know there's some probably you know work but uh with the watching tape obviously and kind of great and evaluated it touchdown your view on rire that yeah yeah I mean I was really happy for rir you know being able to you know keep track of the ball and make that play and just a big moment for him obviously it would have been for anybody but just for him to make that play and come in there and and score for us and just keep keep stacking you know stacking plays and building on the score was nice during your time here this the loudest of Stadium's been and if so how fun was it to play in front of that rocket crowd ah it is close I mean it probably was loudest but it it's got to be close between um tonight in Michigan 2021 I want to say when we played them and the fourth quarter was crazy we were up by a little bit uh so it's been close but it was really fun to play it's a little different for the offense because we don't hear that you know the crowd Shak in the house like the defense does it definitely it was definitely fun environment I'm sure you visualize you know what beating Colorado here at this Nike would kind of feel like did it meet expectations and just how validating is it to actually get it done I mean yeah I mean I feel we as a as a as a team and you know as an indiv each individual player individualize or visualizes their own plays that are made to read the success and the win but definitely feels good I mean anytime we're going to get a win especially you know obvious there was hype leting into the game you know the Rivalry that set back a long time ago last year kind of just rekindled it um but just like the media hype that Colorado has and being able to kind of come in here and shut it down right away uh I think for us was really good and that 1 team was good too
