hello and welcome in to another episode of the fantasy football forecast I'm your host Trevor Scott joined by my co-host Matt raldi what's going on guys and today we're going to be coming at you with a Thursday night football preview you guys it is here we are at24 season we are back oh my gosh so excited to have football back on the schedule um so uh we're going to be previewing the Chiefs and the Ravens this could not be a better game to kick off the season a rematch of the AFC Championship game from last year yeah and unfortunately for Baltimore they lost the AFC Championship game 17-10 one of the guys that will talk about from a fantasy preview Z flowers had himself a very interesting game in that game he had five catches for 115 yards and a touchdown but unfortunately might have sealed their fate with that touchdown fumble right before crossing the goal line Andrews was mostly quiet in that game Kelce went off rice had a decent game looking at this game Chiefs are us three so they're just a little bit of a favorite with a 46.5 expected over under so a little bit more of a higher scoring over under than I would have initially thought just being kind of week one and you know two solid defenses but looking at the fantasy landscape we know you're starting momes we know you're starting Lamar we know you're starting Kelsey and Andrews but what I'm excited personally for the most is this is the first game with Derrick Henry I I know over the years there's been a lot of rumors about man how good would Derrick Henry be on the Baltimore Ravens and we finally get to see it and so I'm I'm very excited about that you know they have three new starters on their offensive line so that'll be something to watch very closely this year sadly their o line coach passed away last month too so I know they're going to be playing um with heavy hearts in this game um you know the Chiefs probably are going to load the Box quite a bit and make Lamar throw but um I guess just looking at any of the Marquee players that we know you're starting or sitting who who are you excited to watch you know what are you kind of keeping your eye out for with those guys yeah no I mean I I cannot wait for this game there's so many fantasy relevant players in this game I mean you you highlighted who are starting for sure right I mean you're starting the quarterbacks you're starting the running backs and you're starting the tight ends for sure um there's there's no question about that you're likely starting Z flowers and you're likely starting rashy rice so we'll get into those two players is kind of like the what do we do here you know how excited are we for them but I I am very excited for the Kelsey vers Andrews matchup I do think that's going to be very fun to watch I I hope we we get a picture of Kelsey looking very healthy coming into the year I know he's discussed on his podcast that you know he's been feeling banged up and he was pretty banged up last year but he did finish year strong and I do hope to see a strong showing here in the first week from him Mahomes and Lamar they're both locked into the top four I definitely expect big games or big Seasons from them now if they have big games against each other here on the first game of the season we'll see you know I could see I could see a couple three andal I could see a z00 score after the first four or five drives and we're like come on come on we're we've been waiting all off season for some come on come on can you hit Xavier worthy deep you know maybe you know maybe Henry can you break off a 40 yard touchdown run here like we're looking we're looking forward to some fireworks here but um I do think that that under is going to hit under the 46 and a half um because I you know I just think first game Jitters and the offens or the defenses should still be pretty good here I don't I don't necessarily think that you know they're they're going to be just going trading back and forth touchdowns um like we would all love to see very excited about Pacho too I do think um the perine signing I think we're obviously going to be watching the snapshare there very closely how much perine gets on the field if he's even active because he's only been with the team for a week um so you know we'll we'll uh continue to watch that backfield a little more closely than we're going to watch the the Baltimore backfield just because it's going to be Henry you know and Henry doesn't catch a lot of passes anyways so yeah you know it's going to be all all Henry uh between the 20s and at the goal line and side note on momes if you guys didn't check out yesterday we did a trade target episode and we kind of talked about the idea of potentially trading for Patrick Mahomes if he does have I don't want to say a bad game but a you know not a very good fantasy game and just kind of putting that in the mind of you know your teammate that has momes obviously in superflex he was probably a first or early second round pick but just put some feelers out there because we expect big things from this offense throughout the year especially with the addition of Hollywood Brown and Xavier worthy I don't know I I wouldn't expect too much from worthy in this game game I know we're kind of jumping ahead with him but I think the way that he's going to be utilized is just a field stretcher and I think going into I guess naturally Rashi rice I think that's going to help rice quite a bit I mean having Hollywood gone having Rashi or having worthy just bomb down the field rice does all his work short and middle so that's going to open up a lot of space for him and in two wide receiver formats it's a little bit trickier to start sit but I think in three wide receiver he's someone um I would definitely be confident starting this week I don't know how you feel about rice this week yeah I definitely feel very confident in rice okay I think depending on when you drafted is going to make this decision a lot more difficult right if you drafted very recently there's a chance that he got pushed in the fifth round and he's your starter right he's like your number two he got drafted as wide receiver 15 um and you know I wouldn't I wouldn't hate on that pick at all I think that that would be reasonable and you know there's a chance he drafted two weeks ago and he went in the seventh round or the eighth round or in your super FL super Flex leagues maybe even in the ninth round um I know I in a two wide receiver One Flex super Flex League I just got him uh a week and a half ago in the ninth round and my receivers in that League are Tyreek Hill Garrett Wilson and Mike Evans so I'm not entirely sure I'm even going to be starting him I kind of makes me regret the Evans pick in the fifth round I could have got a better quarterback there tight end maybe but you know I I ended up with rice in round nine and and and so I'm not going to end up starting him there I don't think so I think it it is team dependent you know but I do think that he has the potential to be a top 20 wide receiver and at the very least I think he I think you're going to see him ranked inside the top 20 pretty much every 25 pretty much everywhere so that puts him firmly in Flex consideration for all leagues yeah no that makes sense and what do you think about Z flowers flipping to the other side yeah and I think flowers I think there's a chance that Kansas City you know gets gets up in this game and they're going to need to throw so you know like you said in the playoff game flowers had an awesome game against Kansas City and that was when he was going up against a much better secondary than their the Chiefs currently have with Sneed Sneed there so you know I do think that the big play should be open for Lamar if they stack the box to try and stop to try and stop Henry early in the game maybe they hit one early uh you know in the first quarter at some point hit a 40- yard play so um I definitely think that you should be starting Z flowers this week I was kind of down flowers overall for the season but this week I think I would start him over rushy rice um if you had both of them and I do have very high hopes for for him to be able to get loose deep a couple times in this game yeah I think they're going to take a couple shots my biggest fear is that one of those is going to go to Rashad baitman who please don't start baitman but he's going to hit like a 60- yard touchdown and then people are going to go to the waiver wire and then he's going to suck after that but um I like flowers quite a bit too as a player I mean he was on my team last year I made a trade for him um I do worry a little bit about Trent McDuffy being all over him he's such a good you know defensive back but I think in this format and I think like we said multiple times with Casey probably s stacking the box I think flowers is a a really good play this week I mean it always is a little bit frustrating when you have a guy that you're excited about Thursday night and they don't go off and you feel like you're in a big hole and you're kind of anxious the next few days but yeah I think just let them loose man let's let him play also in this game just as a note this is something just you should always do and everybody should know but just in case you don't if you're going to start any of these players if you make the decision to start them make sure you start them in your running back spots or in your wide receiver spots do not leave them in your Flex that gives you a lot less flexibility when you come to Sunday if any unexpected injuries happen or if you're debating starting and sitting somebody else then that kind of locks you out of being able to start either a running back or receiver so if you're going to start flowers if you're going to start rice and those guys are kind of your flexx players make sure you move them into your wide receiver spots yeah and this goes without saying too if you are a savior worthy owner just sit him be patient if he hits a home run like most importantly we want to see how he's worked into this offense because there's just way too much risk there I I know the Home Run idea is a lot of fun but just just pump the brakes and be patient with them if you have them yeah and I think if he had a better matchup then we'd be a little more on him but the fact that he gets the Ravens in week one it's his first game I I would also agree with with sitting worthy this week trying and try and hopefully get a different player into your Flex spot if you can or into your into your last wide receiver spot I I think they're going to try to bully him a little bit with press coverage and just kind of see how it reacts he's 165 pounds so I think the Ravens are going to play some hard-nosed defense on him but yeah definitely it'll be fun to watch you know his snap percentage and the routes he runs yeah definitely and I think it's I expect his snap percentage to be really high because Hollywood's not in this game right he's going to be the number two and he's going to be out there I would guess on at least 80% of the plays or more um so you know hopefully hopefully that'll stick right but we'll see how that ends up working um once Hollywood is back all right with that thank you so much for watching we look forward to seeing you guys in the next one later
