hello and welcome to two minute drill i'm michael rockman today we're talking about alabama wide receiver jameson williams who could be the top wide receiver off the board despite tearing his acl just two months ago the first thing that anyone should recognize about williams game is his game breaking speed with nice length and dominant get off williams will routinely win deep but he's capable of beating double coverage and safety help too so even on plays where williams doesn't touch the ball he'll likely make an impact even if you have him planned for if you give williams a path to cut out to open field he's going to capitalize and likely turn it into a big time play if not a touchdown and while williams can win deep he's so good with the ball in his hands that getting him manufactured touches should be included in an offensive game plan that features him and with his ability to accelerate even crashing defenders will have a hard time getting to him in the backfield while these other methods are certainly useful don't get it twisted williams is a very talented receiver that can still go and win over the middle and capitalizes there too here against arkansas he catches a slant route and makes the defense pay with the open field they give him in terms of weaknesses i think williams needs to improve on catching outside of his frame he certainly flashes the ability and has done it but too often he struggles to get his arm stretched out to the catch and he doesn't make a great play on the ball you can see here against georgia he misplaced the ball stopping and then trying to get up for the pass with just one arm and if he paced himself better it would have likely been just another touchdown for williams for an nfl comparison to williams i look at desean jackson a current free agent and former philadelphia eagles legend williams is a bit taller but there aren't many that offer their speed fluidity combination and i think williams can put together some similar dominant play like deshawn did over the course of his career that was good enough for three pro bowl appearances in a wide receiver class that features talents like garrett wilson drake london traelyn burks and many more william's still being in consideration as the first wide receiver taken off the board come draft day speaks volumes to just how dominant a receiver he is as far as draft day i think williams goes in the top 20 picks and wouldn't be surprised if he can crack into the top 10. yes there will be questions on his acl injury and yes the pick could be classified as risky but the risk won't be bigger than the regret when you watch what williams should be doing to teams every sunday from here on out and that's the two minute drill
