[Music] a flurry of lightning fast hits para badminton this is the first time para badminton has officially been included in the paralympic games the rules of para badminton are the same as badminton with a match consisting of the best of three games up to 21 points there are two types of event wheelchair and standing which are divided into six classes depending on type and severity of impairment wh1 and wh2 offer wheelchair athletes sl3 and sl4 are for athletes with a leg impairment the lower the number in these two groups the greater the impairment in su-5 athletes have an arm impairment and sh-6 is for athletes with short stature in the standing events matches use the entire court while the wheelchair events use half the court doubles uses the entire chord apart from close to the net the standing class features powerful play and speedy matches making use of the athlete's strong upper bodies athletes with short stature cover it with skillful footwork athletes in wheelchairs skillfully use the limited space to move their opponent forward and backward [Music] there are as many different styles of play as there are unique and individual athletes [Music]
