how both are y'all doing today hi how are you lovely good I get to talk to y'all we F to talk about this mess and this [Laughter] movie but one of the things that I really do love about Belinda's character is you know she's this really kind person but she's starting to realize her worth and yes like she has to put a stop to it you know in her career and even at home and so for the both of you is what advice would you have for someone who's kind of struggling to put their foot down and recognize their worth and knowing when to walk away when somebody's not appreciating you well I would say set boundaries it's very important that you set boundaries it's very important that you know your worth know your value and try to act on that and sometimes it's hard because someone like Salange character can just completely take over your life and control you and manipulate you but sometimes you get to a point I think everyone gets to a point where they've had enough and that value and that worth kicks in at some point where you say enough is enough I think Brand's articulated it really well really really well and and that's what I love one of the many things I love about the movie is that um and and the Brandy plays it so brilliantly beat by beat by beat you know it's like uh discovering how to do that how to put those boundaries down and um and I think you know um um with our women's Liberation we're supposed to kind of be free of but we ain't all of the time I think we we we we you know I don't know if it's a generational thing but um uh I think it still pertains that um there's a sense of having to concede uh support uh and um so I think what Brandy's done in terms of um The Journey that um Belinda goes on it is is beautiful and and an important story an important story uh and I think I wonder if men and women can relate to it actually you know I hope that everybody can relate to it because I think they better they better what I mean to Belinda's Journey that I don't that um what do you think that it's not just uh women who will relate to that journey to Liberation that I think a lot of people struggle with knowing when it's okay for them to be strong I think it's hard because when you're opinionated when you stand up for yourself people label you as difficult so I think everybody struggles with and sometimes people are people Pleasers they don't don't know how that can get them into a lot of trouble with themselves with their own selfworth is people pleasing I was a people pleaser for a long time and it took me a while to come into my own and say you know this is about my worth my value and everybody can be happy and everybody can have what they want but not at my expense okay a word but that's hard it's hard to get to that point so is it's beautiful you know when you actually are able to stand up for yourself so that's why with Belinda's character but also too I want to know because you know Salange was W Salange was giving Belinda some grief in this movie so what was taking her through it she tried to come for her marriage she tried to come for her baby she tried to come for everything that she had her home her her life like Salange wanted Belinda's life and she made sure that she tried everything that she could to get it and I was fighting for my life every scene to try to make sure she didn't I was like said Lord just touch the lines to change her heart Lord so just let Belinda have and she was using the Lord to do it she was using the Holy Spirit to do it so you couldn't even pray to the Lord cuz she had the Lord on lock I think that part of the of the you know using the Lord to to do things will strike cords in our kind of political Arena today yes that's our history too they you know they use the Bible to you know enslave people so it's we're used to it it happen she had strangers in my house speaking in tongues trying to take over my body I'm like I can't even come home from the hospital and just rest I had to I had to fight for my life because if you can't have peace in your home then where can you have peace you can not with Salange around but look I also need to know Brandy do I need to start a petition I Need You In This I Know What You Did Last Summer Revival do I need to get Freddy and stay on the line what I got to do are you gotta have my back on that I definitely want to sign on I definitely want to see what they have going on I would love to be a part of it so keep on speaking speaking up for me okay it's gonna happen we gonna make sure they get you a phone call by the end of the week because I need this I need this all right okay all right but I do want to know because of the the tense relationship between Salange and Belinda I want to know for the both of you like how did you have peace with each other it's such a heavy thing that's happening between the characters so between takes like how do you guys like kind of decompress from being characters well that was the magic of it really you know and that's and it's the it's the it's the magic and the charm of of of making a movie and telling a story that so off camera you know we're closer than close yeah and sharing and then we go all right okay yeah and you just use those few seconds when um the the the light he being adjusted and and um but it's so it's kind of fun it was a lot of fun like to see her in in her role and in her in in her character just to see her do something different every single take to just see her in her light it just it just made me feel like I had to just step up my game and stay on my toes and react to her and I can honestly say that she brought out the best in me and I love that we were able to bond outside of the cameras rolling it just made it all together that much better honestly look we go we going to pray for everybody's hearts that they find peace in their hearts that they stand themselves okay but I just want to thank the both of you for taking time out of your day to speak with me it means so much that you took time to speak to little old me and I'm but love and light both your wigs okay thank you and I love your personality thank you great thank you so much you're welcome bye bye
