Well, today might have been the biggest day of Bronco training camp 2024. The team had the chance to practice against another NFL team and a good one at that. The Green Bay Packers are here for the weekend and their quarterback Jordan Love was asked about the Broncos rookie quarterback who's gonna get the start on Sunday evening. You know, I'm a big supporter of Bo Nicks and, uh, you know, I wish him all the best this year and we'll see what, what pans out in that quarterback situation. Um, but yeah, I mean, he drafted this year, you know, I wish him all the best if he gets the opportunity to start and play some games this year. But, uh, yeah, I mean, he's in it for the long journey, you know, to keep just stepping up and get better every day. Most accounts, Bo and the Broncos had a pretty good day against the team that many feel might be among the very best in the NFC. While many starters may end up simply watching the game on Sunday today. Both teams had the chance to get in some real work against each other. Our Broncos insider, Mike Klis was out there for all the action. Mike, we continue to study Bo Knicks, but this was a day for the whole team, the Broncos offense and defense to really get a sense of where they are. You're right. And the defense really stepped up, you know, it was, if it was kind of tied between the Packers and the Broncos as far as who had the better practice or who, who had the better of it. The Broncos really took over and prevailed in the last uh final minute drill if you will. Uh Jordan Love was almost picked off uh, uh several times. Riley Moss had his hands on it. JL Skinner Reese Taylor finally did get an interception. The Denver D stopped the, uh Packers on three consecutive series four and out. Uh the Broncos. Meanwhile, Bo Knicks took it down for a touchdown. Jarrett Stidham took it down for a touchdown. So the Broncos definitely won the day. Good day for the Broncos. So, did anyone stand out? Obviously, this is a time when jobs are on the line and we talked about some players aren't gonna see the field in Sunday's game. Did anyone jump out at you? Yeah, the, the Broncos, by the way, are playing their starters. The Packers will not. So that's uh just two different philosophies there for uh the second preseason game. But besides Bo Nix who reaffirmed that he is the number one quarterback on this team, Jonte Williams, the running back, a little concern about whether he would ever regain form. Uh Following that AC L didn't have a good year last year, but he looked real good uh today and also Pat C, he went up against Dobbs and they had some uh tremendous battles, one on one and in the team drills. And uh sir Tan came out ahead, uh broke on balls. He is uh all pro cornerback and he played like it today. Also been hearing a lot of buzz about Jonah Ellis, uh as a guy who shows up not only on the field, but also on the tape, he's, uh, that, that he's gonna have a big rookie year if, if he gets the chance on the field, he does, he's a backup outside linebacker right now, which means he'll play 30 to 40% of the snaps. But yeah, he really played well against Indianapolis force that interception. And, uh, yeah, he's a high motor guy, a try hard, high motor guy and, uh, is because he's so relentless, he gets to the quarterback. So every year, you know, the try hard, high motor guy gets the Mike Klis award. Does he, what is, what's that award? Is this is a plaque, is it a trophy? It's like Scotty swag chain. Oh, it is. It's like a swag chain. Yeah. Um, Mike, anything else, uh, jump out at you because, uh, I know a lot of people are looking forward to seeing this game, a lot of the fans looking forward to get back into the stadium. There seems to be more top spin, uh, going into this year for the Broncos. Now with Bo Nix showing well against Indy, you know, the over and under for the Broncos, uh, and, and the, uh, casinos or wherever it is, the odds makers have them at 5.5 wins. It's just hard to believe that a Sean Payton coach team is, uh, going to finish, uh, you know, around 5.5, uh, I guess, uh, uh, six. I, I just think they're, they're much better than that and if the Packers are gonna be a playoff team, like everyone thinks, uh, the Broncos should be in, in pretty good shape. Uh, we'll see, uh, you gotta get off to a good start the way that schedule, uh, lines up and, uh, they'll be tested right away in Seattle. But, yeah, Bo Knicks looks like Sean Payton's type of quarterback. He moves around a little too much in the pocket, maybe, doesn't, doesn't hang in there and, and throw the ball like the prototype quarterback. But, uh, he's got something on the ball and, um, you know, the guy, the guy is, uh, unflappable. So, uh, I think they got a good one there. Yeah. Well, keep your motor running high. Keep trying hard. We'll see you with more on the Broncos coming up. At five o'clock, Mike. Thanks as always.
