First time on Centre Court m a great job out there uh you've been crushing at both matches first round and today against Osaka I want to know what was going through your mind when you walk out onto Center Court for the very first time not only that you're also playing a former world number one yeah I wasn't sure about uh Center Court Protocol no introduction no music nothing they just open the big doors and you walk out and I was walking out first and really wasn't sure if I was supposed to be doing what I was doing but um yeah kept walking and made it to my chair okay okay so um yeah but so special to walk out in that court that so many tennis Legends have played on and um to to play Grand Slam champ out there and um you know get the win today it's it's really cool need entrance music next time you play center yeah have to request walk exactly um sometimes players play a great match and they say well I'm I'm surprised as anyone sometimes they say you know I woke up feeling this was going to be a good day I mean those stats Steve rolled off I mean you five unforced errors I guess a quality opponent how surprised are you by the result today I mean um I always say can't see the future and um you know when I was younger and we'd have to um draw out five 10 year plans in school or whatever it was always really stressed me out I didn't feel like I could do it but um yeah since the time I woke up this morning I kind of felt like um you know I felt like I was going to play some good tennis wasn't sure how was going to go but um had a feeling it was going to go well and yeah happy that that it turned out doesn't that's uh Getting comfortable on grass that's great there are uh two courts on grass in your home state of South Carolina where did you learn to get so comfortable on this stuff um I don't know I have played on one of those courts um at the at the Daniel Island Club um not as well-kept as the as the Wimbleton courts but um maybe that prepared me a little bit and um you know I've I've just been having a lot of fun on grass I think um it's a really unique service and um you're rewarded for um you know getting an extra ball or two back in the court and um slices play well and short stuff plays well and um you know I like to like to play a creative game so um I think that's well suited for grass so um yeah just really enjoying my time on the grass you've had a full season on tour now so you've basically Been Everywhere what is Wimbledon still like have that aura special something different for you for sure um and this year we're staying in Wimbledon Village so um to have that experience feel like um you know we're returning home every night it's really cool and um we walk a few blocks away and we're at the grocery store and um it kind of feels like we're in our little neighborhood here so um yeah definitely really special and I don't think um the atmosphere or anything about wiblin will will ever lose the it's just a special character that it has you know your next opponent Next opponent and you really know your next opponent uh you guys have played Devils together recently played each other recently what is the mentality going up to play Lefty Diana Schneider um I know it won't be easy um but I'm really excited for the challenge and um you know she poses a big one um lost her in in three sets the last couple of times but um you know i' I'm feeling really good about how I'm playing and um you know she makes it tough as a lefty player she she goes for shots she uh plays Really Brave and um you know I think I think it's cool how she takes um big moments on maybe I could learn a thing or two from her all right today yeah uh and you know we've had a lot of fun playing doubles together in the past so um I think it'll be a really fun match huge Testament for European summer highlights college tennis a couple former Stars you know going at it two times in in a week basically uh you've had a really cool European summer you know some work some fun as well uh what are some Adventures off the court that have really stood out to you um I took a little Hiatus in Greece with my family after the French Open um which was really awesome just um for one to be able to spend some time with my family away from tennis is is really special and it's time I really cherish a lot and then also just being in Greece was was amazing we got to um do some cool bike rides we did a 50-mile bike ride I had the whole get up on I kind of felt like Lance arm strong or something um and then did some hiking some kaying um so that was is definitely definitely a highlight of mine this Europe European summer great good stuff Emma keep up the great work uh we wish you the best of luck going forward hope to see you soon thank you appreciate it
