Morgan Academy football player dies after Friday night game injury

Morgan Academy football player Kaden Tellier 16 who was rushed to a hospital Friday night after suffering a brain injury sustained during a high school football game has died the school confirmed Saturday Morgan Academy Headmaster Dr Brian Oliver confirmed in a statement to WSFA 12 news that the student passed away from his injuries it is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that Kaden helier has gone to be with his Lord and Savior Kaden loved the Lord with all his heart and was a Shining Light every day he graced the halls of Morgan Academy he was a student a friend an athlete and most important a Christ follower there are no words to describe how we feel as a school community and family we will come together and support Jamie arella and Lila with our whole Hearts we offer our deepest simp aathy to the tellier's extended family as well I want to thank all the schools and individuals that have reached out during this difficult time Kaden will never be forgotten for who he was and what he means to Morgan Academy Alabama Independent School Association executive director Michael McLendon released a statement earlier in the day saying that Tellier had suffered a severe brain injury and was asking for the community to support the teens family the Morgan Academy Senators located in Selma were playing the southern Academy cougars at home when the accident happened details on what caused tellier's injuries were not immediately clear we ask that our entire Isa family and the people of Alabama join us in prayer for peace and comfort for Kaden's family and the Morgan Academy Community as they navigate this difficult time said McLendon McLendon also noted that Morgan Academy has chosen to suspend all school activities this week to give the community time to come together
