the bronze medal and in doing so they they won the bronze medal in the quad doubles um against Brazil and in doing so became the first South Africans to win a medal in wheelchair tennis wheelchair tennis at the par Olympics so incredibly proud moment it wasn't the only medal that we got today though earlier today we had uh n Peter D dpri who won in the men's H1 individual trial which is a cycling event he got a bronze medal there also so we got two bronze medals today to bring our total uh at the at the par Olympics to four medals we've got a gold medal and three bronze medals as things stand um in terms of the events tonight that we might get some medals in also we've got Christian s who narrowly missed out in the S7 100 m back stroke yesterday but tonight he competes in the men's 50 m freestyle in this S7 division at 6 minutes 7 and then later on um in I mentioned yesterday how in the t4400 M we won a gold medal with tonight he compet again in the men's long jump uh t64 division that's at 829 so we might have two more medal hopefuls uh for tonight in terms of the medal table itself I mentioned yesterday that it's it's The Usual Suspects out there you've got a States at dou the meds that number two have China are sitting on 56 gold medals and 120 total the Great Britain is sitting on 31 gold medals and 63 total so the Chinese have really been sweeping at this par Olympics and you would expect that in the next events they continue that form what about the African teams where where do we stand you have a table for Africa who's leading Africa in terms of Africa Tunisia is at the top they're sitting on seven medals total um we are in in fourth place for African teams in terms of uh the gold medals cuz that's how it's ranked how many gold medals do we have we only have one gold medal and then two bronze yes three bronze now three bronze now yes so but in terms of total medals we're sitting on four tied with Algeria Ethiopia is above us because they have two gold medals and then Tunisia of course leads the way for Africa with seven medals in total we have only four yeah we have only four so far we still have hope how many how many how many um medals about moving to weat he seems to think or feel that there will be an offer table to alak and he will be moving from alaki um to wead but nonetheless coach shigar Bru having heard the conversation having spoken uh to the journalist this is what he had to say on his reaction to What pery said player knows why He's not with us he knows it is this is no problem I I told him so it's no problem that he doesn't agree that's another thing and uh it's a good thing because that means that he wants to play for BA baana but he has to understand also and and he can tell me what he wants I know what he gets um from criticism after baan again don't tell me it doesn't affect you don't tell me that I have experience I've been criticized also as a player also as a coach you can say yeah no no but here still it stays here and the situation in in alali it don't have to tell me that is the situation is clear it's not clear it's not clear it didn't play for the last four weeks there is a problem with the coach there is so I know it and it's not because I read it in the paper so I don't think I don't think for those important games and and those very intensive games that that that that Percy will positive the one thing they disagree on is the same thing if you listen to that interview it's the same thing Percy and I didn't quite I to ey on cuz pery says the criticism labeled against him doesn't affect him he says he's strong he's used to it it comes off him and I get it we're different as people right but let me not tell you a fact let's hear from per himself saying that he agrees that it hits him hard but he can survive from it yeah I did and then the reasoning worse CU I was like no I'm fine not a football reason no I'm fine mentally it can't be because of the report that I get no the report that I get is it's normal for me I'm not true so has got his own mind and how he believes the things and then yeah at the end of the day he's the coach and I respect him for that and then he's leading my country this is him speaking on you know the coach and him having a conversation the coach saying I understand Percy I was um criticized a lot when I got into this country and it affected me I am human and it affects me I can only imagine what it does to you Percy d though he doesn't agree with this reasoning no I don't believe that I don't agree with that I mean I've also said it to him that coach I appreciate your reason your not selecting me and I don't accept the the reasons behind it because you cannot look from the outside and tell me I'm not fine when I tell you coach I'm fine these are just rumors how can they affect so I've said it these are just rumors and then I'm used to it this is not the first time actually it happens with me I've always heard it with Al either from injuries so I've always had these rumors with me I don't know what's the intention though and and to make a decision based on on the rumors did not sit well with me and I expressed that with the coach he respects me I respect him we've got a good relationship as one of his senior players I've said it to him I just don't believe I don't just agree with the reasoning behind if you drop me and then you said you'll come the next game based on your performances I'll take that any day because I always want to fight for my country well I mean the way I see it it's two people one wanting to play for the other and one wanting the one to play for them the one overthinking according to Percy he the effects of you know the criticism the one saying I can handle it I don't know what you September to December then in January the last two games be played in January next year the last two Champions League games will be played last two League games you know you know what doesn't make sense to me what doesn't make sense to me is you have people like pep guardo Kevin dein and many more uh players and coaches and people in football that have come out to say there's too many games it's affecting the quality of football it's affecting the players and yet then you get a format because they're fighting what should have been the Super League you get a format that extends this and has more games even um I I wanted to talk about this you know the advantages is more of a selfish one you know it's more like there more funds coming in for UFA because the pr you know the viewing rights and stuff like that more funds are coming in for UF more funds are coming in for the clubs too because lot of small clubs will actually have the F the the opportunity to meet big clubs you know more money for tickets you know in in in coming for the small teams you know but but when you look at the Players Health like talking about you know man city I I really don't see man city as a very very very very good team when talking about um players depth you know score depth this season but you know even Barcelona my my club now we don't have a very good dep you know and talking about playing eight games we not stop at eight games you know they have to play a playoff again God of Mercy we have to play a playoff again to qualify for the round of 16 so tell me this hold on here here's the one thing I want to know in the eight games are you playing four teams home and away or you playing eight different teams eight different teams eight different teams eight different teams
