hi friends welcome to my channel my name is Juan I'm a yarn addict hence the name Juan the yarn addict and I want to thank each and every one of you guys for stopping by to check out my video today yarn shop Saturday so today I offer you guys this yarn shop here in Media Pennsylvania it's a little out of my range because I am based out of Delaware but I figured why not I'm traveling all the local yarn shops in the tri state area and so they were gracious enough to allow me to record my shopping experience in the store so without further Ado I'm going to go ahead and turn the camera around and show you all the things all right just give me one second I'll be right back okay friends so here I am at the entrance let's start over here where St Yarns very nice we have Cascade Yarns 220 Super Wash look these beautiful colors here very very nice all the way down to the bottom and it looks like we have mon Grande let's see here this is 100 G 3.5 o 87 Y and 79.5 M made in Peru very nice I love this color right here super super nice nice beautiful colors absolutely amazing next door here we have Rowan filed Tweed I love this I will take all of these this is nice too all of these colors look at that so these are 50 gs let me just take one of these off here let's look at the things I plan on doing some shopping today friends so this appears to be machine washable lay flat to dry very nice this is 50 wool 25 alpaca 25 viscus and it feels amazing by the way these colors are very vibrant down here we have some KK 220 Hanks here beautiful colors love [Music] that next door here we have DK we love DK this is 10 this is 100% norsk all beautiful look at that stunning I love the spread of colors here it's great with this swatches are awesome it feels amazing look at that mitered square it's beautiful and then down here look at those colors aren't they amazing we have double sunde here in all the taes and the Browns across the bottom beautiful let's see what this looks like here so this is uh the Norwegian yarn Factory wow so this looks like a 50 g skin here it feels amazing good stuff there let's come down here to the furry stuff as you guys know I like to call that the furry things this is Sensei look at that we can appreciate that this is 60% mohare 20 uh 40% silk it's a 20 G uh SK [Music] here 13 that's actually a really great price for that we have $12 Donuts here this is 70% mohir 30% silk wow look at [Music] that wow that's a very vibrant pink these these uh Donuts here give me very Luxe feel you know so let's see what we have going on down here knitting for Olive now on their website they have this on there as well they have a site and um I noticed that these were going for 12 I believe let's just double check this is150 but the mohare the mohare is going for 12 which is an amazing price and then here we have some wonderful Donuts down here let's see this is 70% organic cotton 30% extra fine Marino it feels absolutely stunning and then down here we have alpaca I love those muted colors it's very fitting for the time the color the color Stories the sequence oh look at that we have pudding Donuts aren't these just the cutest little things these are 3.25 uh let's see wait 3.25 needle size okay 62 m is the length look at the colors stunning oh and look at the bags the flower bags that's pretty awesome right so cool and here we have a pattern rack so just so you guys know half of the store has um Fabrics an entire wall of amazing fabric so I know there's a lot of you guys who watch me that take to the sewing machine as well so feel free to check this out as well I have to check out this make here wow this is great this asymmetrical bag here beautiful single crochet love that and the bottom was done in the round St project bag oh my goodness you can't knit and worry at the same time oh my God that is so cute I have to get this it's a vintage tote yes one the uron addict is going to get this but I'm going to wait to do my shopping until after I'm done recording you guys are going to have to stay tuned to see what I get so look at this display mode at Rowan look at that do you guys see all this yummy Yarns I can't even R now so this is alpaca wool it feels amazing this is going for 11 wow so this is a 50 g donut 116 M 128 yards this color is stunning I love this and then next door here we have alpaca cotton going for 10 wow this feels like all of the amazing things so good and then over here for this display stunning let's see let's see so this is going for 11 heavy Marino very very nice sorry guys my aim is off a little bit let's come around here and look at the Hank wall oh my stars look at all the Hanks look at all the Hanks down the wall it's so good so we have fingering and then we have DK and then we have DK worsted and then worsted and bulky so let's do the things let's come down here to fingering I'm new to the fingering game friends you know I'm DK on up so for the fingering we have some beautiful Yarns here we have Earth yarn Yarns we have oh my goodness look at this mrio meline TSH guys there's meline TSH look at this look at this Yarns and all the things I know my aim is off a little bit but that's okay that's because I'm looking at all the amazing yards here wow [Music] look at this WOW stunning okay and so here we have peka Washi IA fiber this is uh let's see 50% easy wash baby alpaca 50% easy wash Marino wool this is going for 15 that's a great price what is this I mean it's not something I would run to but I know many people go to this this is so good it feels amazing by the way and then over here oh my look at this this is sweet lip bandis elrio a Royo so good this going to back up a little bit so you can see the things I'm telling you right now that right there amazing love this I can be here all day touching all the things wanting every single I want one of all the things you know it's so good look at this this is so good next door here we have some more malabrigo this is Rios this is great love it love it love it and then here we have wored and bulky so good very nice a whole section of malabrigo Rios there very very nice and then down here we have the bulky this is Earth Yarns here wow it's very squishy and very good love that look at that all the way down so that's the wall of Hanks here and this is the back side of that display that I [Music] right now let's look down here this is Rico roomie very very nice now what are the specs on this this is um DK weight yarn it looks like from what it says here spin spin DK 100% cotton and let's [Music] see it's 50 g uh 3 to a 4 mm hook and needle very nice beautiful colors right very nice let's come down here and look at the things and look at this look at all these little fingerling Yarns here I apologize in advance if I'm giving anybody ver vertigo but it's just so good to not look at everything you know so good and then look at this scarf are you kidding me look at this this is so [Music] good stunning I'm just an all you know me I'm a toddler Knitter so I'm like learning all the things this is so Good Earth Yarns okay so like this whole front half of the store here is yarn and then the back half here like I said earlier is all Fabrics so that pretty much wraps up what this particular yarn shop has in terms of yarn um let's look up here we have some here H so this is Lama Donuts are these [Music] cotton interesting love it down here we have oh wow cotton bamboo silk very nice hi cou very nice and then over here we have H galetea with Earth Yarns this is galetea right here wow love this very nice okay all right so it looks like I have some shopping to do friends so I will meet you guys back in the studio when my shopping is completed and uh so yeah I hope you will tell you that I had eyes on items throughout the store the entire time I was recording I tried to stay focused but my eyes kept veering to the side veering to the back and it just couldn't stay focused so my apologies in advance if I gave anyone vertigo just by how everything was moving I tried to be still I tried to be calm and everything but when I'm around yarn I can't really help help it you know anyway I want to say that my experience was unexpected in such a good way when I first walked to the front of the building I was expecting to see yarn floor to ceiling front to back and when I walked in I did get yarn floor to ceiling you know all in the front there but I looked back and I noticed that there were other things beyond the halfway point so all along the one side were supplies like knitting needles C hooks you know bits and Bobs of this and that and then on the other side was an entire fabric wall I think I caught some footage of that but right in the middle um were tables for classes which I saw that and I got excited because this is yet another place that I could go to to meet people and to you know really dig into the yarn arts and I got super excited when I learned about those classes so I look forward to perhaps joining a class or two I can't wait for that anyway I had a great experience there the staff was very nice um there was a class happening there was like a one-on-one session happening and so I tried my best to make sure that my recording wasn't interfering with the class um but nonetheless I had an ear to what was happening over there too I was trying to learn a thing or two as that was going on so that was interesting um so yeah anyway overall great experience I'm definitely going back the entire store is going to be on sale tomorrow they are celebrating an anniversary and yes it's so nice that I have to visit twice so again Home Zone is the name of the business it's in Media Pennsylvania it's in Delaware County uh it's the county right above the state of Delaware so it's not too far away I just it was one of those places that I didn't even know existed um and I'm super excited to know that it's relatively close so yeah there's that all right I'm going to place this on a brief pause I'm going to grab my things and I'm going to show you what I bought at Home Zone just give me one second okay so I am back and I have the things so the first thing that I saw and I think I caught it on the camera was this bag I had to have it I had to have it so it says you can't knit and worry at the same time and then it's got homeone Media Pennsylvania down there at the bottom it's so nice I love that Canvas Bag project bag you know I love it it's simple and effective it does all the things you need it to do right two handles I mean it's so good right and plus there's the snail so anyway there's that all right and then I also wound up uh getting triu um stainless steel red lace needles I needed this size so I am collecting all the sizes one size at a time I tried the others and I've come to really enjoy working with chu red lace so yeah I have different lengths of a five and a five and a half I also have a size 11 60 in uh red lace triu needles but but I decided that I needed Us number 10 so this is equivalent to like a 6 mm crochet hook right so 6 mm knitting needles um and the length is 40 in so yeah got this there they had a whole bunch of them hanging on the wall so they had this whole section of Chu red lace uh circulars and things and then underneath they had different variations of chaio needles like wooden ones and things and then to the left they had the adding needles and to the right they had all these other kinds and then there were crochet hooks I mean they were all there all the things were on the wall so anyway I really enjoy Chu red lace needles and so again I'm collecting them one size at a time and so yeah super excited about that okay next I wound up getting Earth Yarns uh Hank of Earth Yarns and the colurway here is called Black Grape and this is so good so machine wash with cold water and dry flat is the things this is a DK weight Hank of yarn this is 100% um extra fine Marino Super Wash of course and this is 300 yards let me give you a closeup look at that it's 300 yards 275 M it's 100 gr and they are suggesting a 4.5 Mim uh knitting needle if I would like to use a hook a 4.5 crochet hook um so yeah it's a harvest dck and it is super Squish and there's the tag Earth Yarns and lot number 57 so there is that super squish very nice so obviously this is a plain uh colorway here and you guys know I love variegated Yarns right I talked about this since way back when I started my channel and nothing's changed I love variegated Yarns and what I like most about variegated Yarns is being able to pick colors to go with it so this is the solid and I chose this it's so good it's from Earth Yarns and before I show you I like to tease um it's the same specs same everything okay so 300 yards 275 MERS 100 grams all the things so here is isn't this just so good are you kidding me it's so good what is the name of this it's so good it makes me smile I love it so une DK so U NE K unique DK so 300 yards right this was calling my name it was saying Juan I need you Juan please please take me please take me home please do all the things with your crochet hook or knitting needle doesn't matter create something with me so so yeah I went ahead and did a thing so this is what I am putting together now it was so nice that I had to get it Thrice so I have three Hanks of this beautiful beautiful yarn it's so good so there's that and then I have one solid to run throughout isn't that gorgeous now this middle hanck here has pops of I think that's like gray or it could be like a sky blue but it is very colorful it's understated it's like Jewel tonish um it's giving me Autumn like Autumn Harvest Vibes but yet not too literal and I'm really enjoying the way that these colors run together so there is that now I will tell you guys you guys know I love my value Yarns right I have walls filled with value Yarns I love them because of all the possibilities um that can arise from creativity right but I also have an appreciation for you know the yarn arts and the creativity that goes behind color work and dying Yarns and spinning Yarns and all of this I've come to learn on love and appreciate while I had my time here on YouTube so I've been exposed to different channels and content creators who do different things and so with that comes an appreciation for what they do and so yeah this is just another attempt of me you know working outside of my box and pushing myself by you know supporting local businesses and supporting the yarn arts and really just pushing myself outside of comfort zone let's see what I can create with this so um yeah this was my purchase so I have four Hanks of this sorry about that um yeah so four Hanks of the earth Yarns and I have a pack of red lace Tri go and the bag that was it so anyway I really hope that you enjoyed this you know local yarn shop Saturday I really enjoyed it um I do plan on continuing to go out there and check out the local yarn stores and because of where I'm located I'm Central to multiple areas so the metropolitan area of Philadelphia covers three states so Pennsylvania New Jersey Delaware I can also venture out into Maryland as well so I plan on doing that so when I can I will reach out to local yarn shops and see if I can tour their stores and show you
