Falcons release first preseason depth chart: Offense

[Music] we are breaking down the first official depth chart of the preseason ahead of the Falcons first preseason game we just did the defense you missed it check it out on our YouTube at Sports Talk ATL now we're going to the offense the offense we've talked about this all off season not a lot of questions right like the offensive line is all coming back Matthew berser on you're hoping takes that next step and you're expecting what this to be one of the best units you know you got Kurt Cousins outside you have um Drake London Darnell Kyle pittz is is your tight end one uh Charlie Warner who just came over in free agency is going to be your run blocking tight end two um really the one position battle is kind of that wide third wide receiver which was Rond Del Moore Ray Ray McLoud Ray McLoud got the bump but we learned today Rondo Moore non- contct injury anytime you hear that and the way he was carded off the field the way people were talking about it calling heartbreaking yeah I mean let's just call a spus I don't want to like sit here and say like there's no reason to speculate other than the people speculate were reporting other people's speculation say that it's SE like it sounds season ending like if it's not like thank your Heavens he's gonna be out a while so that that knocks your wide receiver dep but what did the Falcons do and we were almost kind of wouldn't say mocking it but we're like God we we got another wide receiver and they weren't like studs but they were rayel mcclouds Rond Del Moors cardero Hodge coming back that that depth of the wide receiver group you may not have stars but you have guys that can fill in as wide receiver threes like cadero Hodge could be the Falcons wide receiver three and you might feel just as good as you did with Ron Del Moore Ray Ray McLoud is is that in that same breath so they have depth in that area that's the one that's maybe the one spot you could stand to lose someone you never want to say that you know prayers to Rond Del Moore but and no real surprises here I didn't think yeah uh Ray McLoud first in that slot rle um he's had a really good camp he looks ugly in 34 coming out of the slot but he looks good according to all the yeah according to all the beat Riders um Casey Washington more of the same in terms of the depth pieces at that wide receiver position he seems to be on a have a connection with Michael pinnick which is way more important in terms of his future with the team than Kurt Cousins um uh the running back I I thought was interesting um everybody's been saying you know the beat guys who have been there uh that Carlos Washington the running back has been you know kind of effectively the third Stringer uh ahead of Avery Williams ahead of the rookie Jace mcclinon and then in the depth chart he's last Avery Williams is third Jas mcclinon is fourth um and if Avery Williams can't really the Rond Del Moore injury I thought more about special teams than than offense in general only because you know uh rayr mccloud's gonna handle probably a lot of the punt duties a lot of the kick return duties uh Rond Del Moore was is is of that same you know variety of guy uh can take both Avery Williams path to the roster is directly tied to the special team so you know one you know tragedy for Rond Del Moore Avery Williams has an opportunity potentially because you know that is a big deal to you know the Special Teams unit is what I would say and the third running back uh thing that you mentioned that's not obviously a huge deal I don't imagine they're gonna get a ton of burn with beon Robinson who we expect to be a Workhorse and then Tyler aler is gonna probably collect up the rest of those snaps but I really like Jason mlen coming to Alabama I thought he I thought he was a stud and you know how you can find sixth round running backs can turn into a stud yeah so I really liked him coming out Casey Washington we'll see how that things but I I thought overall I mean this is what we expect from the off the defense good to see Michael pennick is slotted into the uh backup quarterback position which you know is not shocking whatsoever but you know there was a moment of time where I had some sort of panic um where Raheem mois said at the beginning of training Cam that Taylor heinink and Michael were going to uh split backup snaps with the second team which is just completely unacceptable it's clear now that they're reporting that Michael pennix is taking all of the second team reps and Taylor hinei and I'm blanking on the fourth string guy's name or are with the other side of on the other side of the field with the other teams which is good he's going to be starting this preseason game I would expect Taylor hinei uh to play you know a third of the game Michael penck a third of the game and then the fifth string guy or the fourth string guy third of the game yeah I mean this is Alex that's really just your fault for doubting Raheem Morris man this isn't arith baby this is he said it he said it he I only freaked out because he literally said they're gonna split I think he heard my outrage and he was like you know Alex is right that that is a moronic thing to do Michael penck every single snap for you and Michael pennic is great I cannot wait I I hope to God he plays on Friday I cannot wait to see him play in the preseason
