your cameras off the sticks please behind [Music] know things way nowadays the theery a chance for some heavier rain especially across the eastern part of the state as we go through the next 24 36 hours or so uh looks like we'll avoid tropical storm force winds if this storm stays on the path uh that is forecast if it shifts a little bit to the West uh we could see some trial storm force winds clipping the the Texas coast especially across Southeast Texas on Wednesday uh as far as the uh computer modeling goes just about all the computer modeling is universally forecasting the storm to stay offshore and go into Louisiana so that uh increases our forecast confidence greatly uh we also have uh the the models forecasting this to be anywhere from a tropical storm to category one hurricane conditions are favorable for it to strengthen a little bit more than that just before it reaches the uh Louisiana coast as far as the rainfall that's fallen so far uh we have an area of two to almost six inches of rainfall that has fallen across Cameron willsy and a portion of Kennedy counties uh for uh the storm total so far they'll probably get an additional one to two inches over the next few hours uh so that's where some of the worst rainfall has occurred from the storm and the forecast rainfall is for that heavier rain is just sort of hug the coast General totals will be the one to two inch range but we could see some pockets of much heavier rain uh especially across Southeast Texas and East Texas during the day tomorrow um that's really primary threat uh so we do have a marginal risk for flash flooding across the coast today across East Texas for tomorrow uh as far as the storm surge goes uh the National Hurricane Center even admits this is probably pushing things a bit they're forecasting General surge u in the 1 to three foot range maybe a little bit higher than that right along the bvar peninsula up to sine pass uh but the storm surge with this will be uh minimal uh we will have to worry about rip currents though uh so uh that that'll be a underrated threat I think people underestimate how deadly rip currents are uh we have seen some reports of funnel clouds uh in the feeder bands with this system uh Storm Prediction Center does not have any area uh delineated Over Texas as a severe weather thread but uh there will be a minimal threat for those isolated brief weak tornadoes or water spouts uh with the system and uh once the system gets on out of here that the weather should be relatively quiet for the rest of the week uh we are watching uh the West Coast of Mexico for a system out there that'll be riding the West Coast of Mexico yeah we're getting the time of where storms prevailing winds take these storms and Boomerang back across Mexico into Texas and the modeling has been kind of waffling on this this is a out we're not expecting anything to develop in theed area for if that were to turn right yes the worst that could happen in Texas would be BR yes right yeah that's that's what we're going to have to watch out for is that a category one right now no that's that's just a disturbance out in the west coast hasn't develop into
