inductee number 16 arames Ramirez he played a total of 12 Seasons as a CB and just 20 years old he pitched a one hit no walk 20 strikeout shut out here at Wrigley Field time to Historic MLB record for the most strikeouts in a game his success on the mount led him to be selected for two All-Star games he was the national league rookie of the year in 1998 and a National League strikeout leader in today strike three got the knuckle curve in backto back strikeouts knuckle curve and a fast ball count that'll catch half looking swing and a miss strike three a cutter from Cole and he strikes out the side here in the fifth inning Garrett Cole has been sharp both runs against him unearned in there called strike three it's a four seamer at 98 from Garrett Cole and he jogs off the mound meets hit that wall at a pretty good clip now the Ys turn to Klay Holmes to face the top of the order good opportunity here to try to keep the ball on the ground get back to that good Sinker and down go Swanson well Swanson not happy with this call it's the high slider that maybe Clips the top outside corner of the strike zone o and two the pitch swing and a miss strike three there's the sweeper by Klay Holmes and he retires the top of the Cub lineup in order he left up to Porter Hodge to try and close it out this kid's been great fabulous the side of the mound Swanson collects and throws out stint and there's one away TM lifts that softly left field half coming on and he makes a sliding catch great sliding grab on this play three really good plays by Ian half now the time run in scoring position Yankees likely a single away from time this game two two there goes the runner swing and a miss struck him out ball game I was a little surprised to see the runner going with two strikes on his teammate Ron Ellis a very inexperienced player you get down to two strikes you're a distraction at second taking off and that is just a very inexperienced player doing something you should not do
