UCLA kicker Mateen Bahghani talks about kicking the Gabe-winner in UCLA’s comeback win over Hawaii

[Music] yes sir first game winner comes in college great feeling what did it feel like I mean it felt amazing only one word going through my head execution my Snapper punter it was a great operation great hold everything kind of just fell into its place felt natural was this still a competition coming into this game that did you guys both know that you were going to kick we both knew that we were going to kick yeah but I mean Blake knows I have his back just as much as he has mine so it's always friendly competition you're competing against yourself at the end of the day You' done that in the backyard or like on the practice field Imaging those moments I mean yeah of course ever since like 9th 10th grade I've always dreamed of having a gamewinner so it's an amazing feeling was going through your head with that goahead kick uh what do you mean by when you when you took lead at 16 16 13 what's going through your head when you get that kick I mean just a rush of emotions you know in the moment super laser focus and it happens super fast but I mean honestly just a great [Music] feeling yeah no for sure coach Voss and Coach Whit and our special teams analyst Coach Tucker Meer have been making sure that all the kickers have been put in situations where we can replicate that type of pressure so I mean coming out here it feels amazing to do that for Coach boss and the whole coaching staff they've been working super hard it's a little bit easier to stay loose on the sideline all as heat yeah no the the heat definitely helps but it also also beats you down a bit so yeah what was your how did you have kind of you know a winning mindset there on those field goals in the second half I mean every time I go out there I just I mean it sounds weird but you kind of just black out and you just rely on your training and you know not as much focus on the result but the process of it what does it mean to you to have come through for this team I mean it feels great I'm just just as stoked as our whole old and funner I mean he did the he did everything we needed you know the operation was there everything was there was perfect thank you
