stop for a moment have you ever wondered what drives someone to serve their country here's my story I was at Mercer Jor Senior High School it was just another day until 846 a.m. a plane hit the World Trade Center shock confusion and then at 9: 3:00 a.m. another plane hit the South Tower we watched in disbelief as the world changed before our eyes at 9:37 a.m. reports came in about the Pentagon I knew then we were under attack and when Flight 93 crashed near Shanksville Pennsylvania fear turned into resolve as a Navy brat I understood the gravity I made a decision that day I would join the military later as we gave blood I talked to my mom I looked into every branch and chose the Marine Corps 23 years and two combat deployments later I stand proud that day forged my path and I'll always be a flag waving patriotic American who will never forget
