game of the week wmt's Jack demler joins us from the locker room WMT Mountain Sports your home for the Kentucky Wild Cats and local high school sports after an exciting first two weeks of high school football week three is going to play a major role in teaching us about some of these Mountain teams one of the biggest games to keep an eye on number seven Bell County taking on lra Central the Bobcats have won all five previous meetings by a combined score 245 to 61 both teams enter the game one in one on the year Bell County riding the momentum of a hardfought win over Boyd meanwhile the Cougars are looking to bounce back off a one- score loss to Raceland is this the year the Cougars finally beat Bell County another notable matchup Wesley Hager and the prestonburg black cats making their home debut against Paintsville in their last six meetings the black cats have won five the most recent loss to the Tigers last season Paintsville held on to win 40 to 38 last season with a well balanced attack a big home debut for Coach Hagar who looks to keep his impressive undefeated start to the season going and finally in our arh game of the week it's an ALICE Lloyd College mountain top 10 matchup number four Johnson Central hosting their first home game of the season fresh off a 375 win over Pikeville they take on number three belfrey who beat the golden eagles 48 to2 last year thanks in large part to 370 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns for JC head coach Jesse pek Friday's matchup Bo down to one key thing but I think that the most physical team in this game wins um we've got to line up and play four quarters we got to take care of the ball uh we got to make tackles in space and if we can do that I feel like we have a pretty good chance for the Pirates it's their first road test coming off a heartbreaking one-score loss to George Rogers Clark Head Coach Philip Haywood understands Friday's opponent brings a very physical brand of offense with a lot of size and strength last season the pirates only allowed 182 rushing yards from the golden eagles but coach hawood knew the Eagles were without two of their star running backs with a Running Room like the one at Johnson Central Coach Haywood knows the defensive focus is up front so we're going to have to really Buckle them up and play very sound defense we're going to have to play tough defense because they're not fancy uh they just come at you and we're going to have to come after them as well remember you can catch the arh game of the week on Heroes and icons the WT news app and all w YT streaming services we have highlights from all these games and more on arh Sports overtime
