I want to start here were you all Barbie fans when you were younger did you have Barbie personally the shells of shellfish that I ordered in restaurants and then came home and cleaned off and I just had a gigantic shell collection honestly uh I collected bugs and shells and that was my main toy base uh so a little different [Laughter] just a little bit oh Lisa uh yes I did have Barbies um I had multiple ones that I would play some scenes and any questions I had about humans and life they would answer just by their actions through me what were some of those questions um what I don't want to share those um some of them were just about violence about sex um some sometimes I had questions about my parents and they would act those things out so I was God and yourself I I was kind of playing with Ninja Turtles wow but I have two sisters and there were Barbies in the house and Mariah Carey I was like being played Mariah oh this Oh I thought they had a Mariah Carey Barbie carry music yeah music but I was sitting there playing Nintendo and the music was going and so I kind of took it all in but it wasn't having direct contact with the Barbies nice can we talk about that leg yes resting up on the wall what do you need to know I mean that's some skill well look is that really your leg it wasn't my leg it was a fake leg that was a fake leg heavy leg yeah um but not mine no I can't do that I didn't even try how would you describe your Barbie um okay so weird Barbie is like the Barbie that the girls cut the hair and burned the clothes and Drew marker on the face and she's um she has been cast out of society and as such has a bird's eye view of the whole thing it's uh and it's problems and she can see things that the others can't she knows things that the others don't know what's the biggest thing that she knows that everybody else doesn't know ah she knows that it's all man um oh was was I not supposed to curse she knows that it's all fake man and that uh and that life's not perfect and that's okay and that's what makes it beautiful yeah no doubt I love that the president was black thank you for that thank you for noticing that a lot of people a lot of you didn't notice that and now I feel seen he looks like yes black female president in Barbie world let's go yeah yeah it was it was very liberal hopefully maybe um but that was Greta garwick's vision and I appreciate her for that I wasn't expecting the movie to get deep yeah I was trying to figure you know because we you saw the trailer but a lot of it's like what is it really about and then I went and by the end of the last night I was like oh they're really saying something here yeah it's funny and it's satirical but there is a deep rooted message what do you all hope that people take away from the film I think people won't be expecting that necessarily from you know just what the energy of the movie is but I think that they'll be really pleasantly surprise I mean I was very excited by that when I first read the script and and the movie sort of reveals itself slowly and through this you know playfulness um so it's it's a very palatable way to get some big Ideas kind of pour it into your brain I feel like in a world that demands Perfection um being able to forgive yourself and even celebrate the parts of yourself that are so profoundly human and imperfect is a message that we could all uh stand to tell ourselves every single morning as we walk through this Barren landscape L.A yeah if each of you had to pick a song a theme song for your character what would it be a theme song that's in the movie or just like I sang Marilyn Monroe's version of um happy birthday Mrs president and that is what she hears that's great she wants thank you it was let's hang it out loud several times every day I would have an NSYNC song Because Alan is sort of an NSYNC child Greta gave me an NSYNC vinyl record picture disc as a gift did she so maybe uh what's up which album no strings attached which one did you identify with yeah I don't think I don't know I feel like Alan's sort of like a silent member oh so like Chris yeah Chris [Laughter] [Music] Who's the artist I think that's 98 Degrees [Laughter] I feel like there's really something in this movie though for everybody I think people will be able to see themselves represented would you all say is it a kids movie no it's more than that I think it's a it's a kids to adult movie A Boys to Men you know a girl to women it's a non-binary tonight yeah maybe that um I think anybody can take something from this [Music] thank you
