Real pod she back by the way that's me Janie joined by Duncan geve and Alex Casey I was away last week I have notes how are you guys good nervous I I get nervous I get nervous when you come back and the first thing he says as I have known as the Podcast manager frightening I've been having off the record conversations with high level sources and and being normal quote unquote so I'm going to have to switch to being you know whatever this podcast requires of me when I get my children to reset after they've been terrible I say reset press your belly button so go ahead here we go he's in oh now he's back look at him just full of Pop Culture oh no I think I just turned myself off what did you do turn yourself on it's good it's good it's good that was a factory reset how's Christ Church this part is so blo um K is is great my cucumbers have died and that's a tragedy oh why it got too cold it got too cold everyone said don't plant them out don't plant before show day it's all about show day down here um and I planted them before show day and guess what they all died so you got listen to the locals they know what they're on about they know have you there was a request on the slack Channel at the spin-off this is going somewhere I promise uh for Recollections on the ventner luck uh famous is Elizabeth Knox novel from 25 years ago on occasion of its 25th anniversary I've not read the novel but I have seen the film and there's a whole bit in the film about sort of wrapping the vines against the the weather and and the kind of extreme links they go to to protect them I wonder if you should not have when on this cold evening laying down with your CES your your Jesse CES and and held them held them tight against your bosom to protect them from the elements long intro what a long intro to that crazy piece of advice a slack message about a book about a movie I like that I've only seen the film of the book you know that's very that's very real part yes I work okay I will I will uh I've got one more plant left which was in the greenhouse so I'll will be sure to cuddle it cuddle my C hey um actually just speaking of CES before we move on um how old were you guys when you realized that pickles were like pickled cucumbers like 41 yeah yeah it was maybe like 3 years ago what were about you same it's like crazy just crazy step but I'm glad I'm with my people I still don't know if I believe it no just not true I've I've I've seen them both separately but I've never seen them in the same room together yeah you know what I mean I've seen it it's happened in my very house Joe had a run of pickling cucumbers and I still didn't really believe it I ate them and I was like there's just no way yeah yeah it's just not true we're debunking the myth right here um so my notes for last week I always listen to the potty when I'm not on it I prefer to listen to the potty when I'm not on it first note Sensational Sensational podcast would pay good money to listen to that was the F that's her notes okay no I've just got little two other things one I just this is a significance due to Flappy show due to the fact we were there eron Simpson didn't meet uh Zach at the the VY Music Awards she met him at the TV Awards we were there that night as a threepiece it was the night we saw Flappy show that was the night Zach and eron got together this is not just a coincidence I don't think there's something in there I feel like we sort of brought them together that's really important information yeah that's all I like the way we're there as a threepiece who was what who was the waste coat who was who was the pants what is is okay was waste coat pant and jacket yeah I'm the pants I'm the pants I guess I have I would love to be the definitely the someone who has worn a top hat far too often no question you're definitely the waste coat and I guess I'm the jacket yeah you're the jacket um okay the other notes is my contribution to the argument of mkr V the block is the best way to make don't roll your eyes you already know where I stand I am team Alex casy on there oh what a surprise no it's got nothing misin it's got nothing to do with how I feel about you both as people I just think she's correct I think that the the amount of uh time you have to take into the the full fiscal situation into account which is the time you have to take off work the potential like mental health uh problems you might have out at the back of Block versus mkr and how much money you might have to spend on therapy all of these things Al surrender surrendering yourself to the housing market you know it's a massive variable that almost no other reality show has absolutely the only people you know you could argue that if you go on the Block you uh you know you could make money even if you came second third or fourth but not these days not these the only person we're getting back on track have you not read the news you know how's the Market's going up and to the right again look I'm joining Alex in the kitchen and you still need to find someone to join you for like 3 months on the construction site me you absolutely not no not a hand man no all right where do you stand yeah no it's totally it's it's totally the it's totally My Kitchen Rules that is by far the easiest show that is the easiest way to get $100,000 out of nowhere it's like two weeks Max shoot right like there's no way like $100,000 is insane for that show I here and Kellum also agree with us so this is we've just about got a full cast at MK maybe I should write a ranking a ranking of easiest to hardest already ped it in the editorial meeting Samuel let me tell you this did not get a lot of love really God it's actually such a good page well look it's it's it's incoming we got to do the data cuz yeah you're right you got to factor in time spent on the show also preparation but PR money it meing something that come up last we heartbreak Island was 100K and that was basically a 2 week trip to Fiji I think you won the final prize by completing an aquastic poem or something but you do have to be a certain age and your body has to look a certain way so that creates a new set of hurdles you could take into account some sort of um changing your ID to adjust your age and also then getting some you know plastic surgery and stuff to fit the mold you just have to make sure it all weighs up right so it's which one is going to leave you fiscally better off at the end what the the highest likelihood of being fiscally better off at the end I'm so certain I'm right okay well remains to be seen have you seen the last few seasons of The Block yeah they've lost so much cash and had to like quit their jobs and you know they probably all got divorced out the back of I don't know I mean maybe it's it's cuz I sometimes play basketball with Addie who made 300 Grand and they honestly seem to do you know they barely remember them not showing up to basketball it didn't seem to take very long to get very wealthy anyway we should probably leave this infernal argument to die that you're losing um other than night I just want to say I think I listened to a podcast on the weekend crazy thing to do uh search engine it was an episode with is recline about sent that to too cuz dunan sent it to me cuz I thought it was so good it's so good I don't like to recommend podcasts that aren't this one that's crazy that that that we all were doing that yeah but how good was that and I think I I'm definitely going to quit Twitter I'm just waiting for them to deliver my data back to me and I mean the reason I sent it to is cuz sh she and I have been clean for what 18 months oh I was out I was out 2021 I mean I never I never chcken I'm just like get rid of that J I don't even need the handle anymore but I'm also I think it's going to be Facebook too and that's a tough decision to make given the real pod corner but I think I need to do it for me and I will be in the substack aot I guess you can always I always you can always resurrect your Facebook you know as long as you don't do the full delete just deactivate it and then you can you know reanimate the course you know that how would you know that Alex you on there sometimes well it's particularly useful for the community groups in in spren when I need someone to pick up a bunch of old flexes perhaps if you'd been on Facebook in the gardening group uh you might have known what to do about your GC CES I've seen you she just thought that the rules didn't apply to her defy defy nature okay anyway we're here for Mk so let's get into reality CH I have four ways to decide I'm going to drop my entire BL I am disgusted at how much you have copied my [Music] husband reality all right we are in Mission Bay for Ana in Emily's restaurant lot of pressure on these guys uh they've got lots of cultural influences from their Korean Russian and French backgrounds big RS uh you know there's there's that's what I say in sports oh I you talking about like like tortilla reps delicious I mean I am hungry no but just the expectations are quite high that there there's there's just been a a level of scrutiny and and interest in this Jo I had an absolutely psychotic episode during this and figured out where they lived exactly on Google Ms wa oh my God gosh I was curious tell you but I did nothing with that you tell us how how you did it without revealing where yes I can and it's not something everyone will be able to do but I grew up around that area and so I kind of had a rough idea based on the skyline of where they drove out their driveway which street it might be and so on this is interesting though because they did go to countdown Eden quarter they did Long Way from Home theyes is countdown a sponsor I think they are yeah definitely would have been easier for them to go to the one in downtown or possibly the one in uh in St John's that one downtown is a bit rank they new world at EAS rid is like you know we a you'll SP used to be able to spot out and Matilda the minutes they don't live in town anymore so you can't now but um also it's like a hop skip and a jump from where they are so I had to really go out of the way to the Ed to the time does have a beautiful car park though to get the Lovely shot of was it Anya or Emily who did the classic oh Cruis and on the trolley love to see I love the interplay between these two it's so adorable like kissing each other when they like got good news and you know little like friendly little kiss I just love it they're they're just very uh no tension there yeah well tell loves it too Mano oh yeah don't you think Manu has like a crazy thing for these two he does a bit he do I think maybe it's the quote unquote French Connection how much are the judges allowed to drink do you think on the night I don't can you imagine trying to impose any sort of order on those two no fast should already be like you know a couple of days bag under his jacket if I tried to stop him I was looking at Fage and going something about you is a bit different and he's definitely had veneers right so I looked up pictures of him pre veneers um and I I just think he looked better before the veneers it's like David Beckham had B teeth before he got turkey teeth sometimes it's it's it's too much it can be too much and but you can't go back can you cuz you told me about how they do the nib thing they ground them down to tiny little nublet gosh anyway we're at the travel's corner it's got a sort of a library travel Library isk theme uh thought it was fine I thought it was fine I thought the guests were like weirdly too dazzled by it I like how does it look that good like sort of like a Lonely Planet Cuba on the table is that really what you want a me yeah I have to agree with you Alex as I often do um I think it was it was a little they could have done they could have done better um but anyway the the entree was Korean pancakes with dipping sauce the main with sausage stew and the dessert was profited all the salted caramel sauce uh there was kimchi used in the in the entree that I was like does that count is that like when people use carry paste instead of making their own cuz kimchi needs to ferment right so there's no way they didn't start there they didn't no they did not but could they what's the jurisdiction like could you start could you start early yeah if it's something that cannot be created any otherwi I don't think you can but what about the ice cream I think you could buy I think you can buy something pre-made and then that's something that kind of like people might take into account but the how long does ice cream take to make they well they made ice cream they're freeze on that they made ice cream freeze very quickly Alex I don't know do they you got a freezer but don't you have to Churn it in there I don't know I I don't cold churner thing um this is how we need to do a lot of work to win the under I must say I'm yeah this is this is what I'm talking about is like these people have got like decad of working really hard at this thing been working really hard at it well that's cuz you're a good cook as well so that's why I think that you're a bit you're sort of starting from not the start line I'm a baker but I've also got someone who is very onto it with produce my teammate one withered one withered kick in a bread roll thing I got from the garden oh is the bread roll mine the bread roll is yours a delicious springy bread roll anyway uh what are your thoughts what are your thoughts one of the one of the first caption um things the funny caption thing here was profit Turtles instead of profit profit turtles good point you probably can if you get the right Turtles you got to be careful though I'm going out to the New Zealand turtle rescue is in Christ Church and there's a lady who's got about 200 turtles and she is fed up people buy turtles without realizing how long they live for and then they surrender them it's a it's actually a massive problem and don't some of them get really big some of them get really big and if you release you know people release actually if you go to Western Springs Park lots of turtles in there can can I do a PLT I want to plug your um excellent funny feature about the drama at the aquarium thank you you I'm really trying to Pivot hard into animal news yeah kind of like a k kids news type of type of energy to the spit off speaking of K Kids my daughter is is on the short she's on the I think it's a very long short list of like potential reporters for K Kids holy W and I get these emails that are like we need a reporter for tomorrow at Waka park or something like just real short notice that's I just think it's chaotic the way that they make that show that's all you should afford those Scoops to ask that's right that would be a really great if you could like do a takeown of K kids news the working conditions they're employing child like bring out the blue b oh dear I lik the look of the starter yummy yum yummy probably the thing I most want to eat on the season so far yum yeah I like to look at that dipping sauce again it's it's just crazy making especially I think when they're talking about sauces and little side things but they're like you could bottle that and sell it that is so delicious and I'm like I just want a tiny drop a pet of that sauce you know but it does raise a good point again if Colin and Manu tell you you could bottle something and sell it that's another potential fiscal upside to being on mkr this might be true yeah cuz they the thing is they they got that for all three of their sources oh really yes The Salted Caramel at the end and the onion and lemon in the middle oh true they the Saucy ladies that's their brand that is really good the Saucy ladies uh based on the two previous instant restaurants uh Vicki has been charged with giving pescal horse bites under the table if he sees anything too controversial I just want to go into B pescal is not the villain he's not the villain is and I'm forgetting her name NADA Pops Pops Pops is the villain pops with the glasses yeah yeah she's the villain and it's and and she thinks pescal is the villain I think the V the villain ography this season is um is really interesting don't have a lot to hang their hat on is that the saying for the villain like it's not a super dramatic cast um n and pops are definitely just extremely aware that they're on the bottom of the leaderboard and Pascal is dunan geve he's a contrarian and this is why you relate to him so much is he just takes the opposite view of everyone else so anyone else is like this pork's a bit dry he's like delicious don't know what what your problem is I disagree I think that that Pascal and I do have a lot in common pescar is he's got his kind of perspective on the world and is very comfortable expressing it regardless of prevailing winds and that's that's not being a contrarian that's just having a point of view that's what a contrarian would say he God damn it horse spite um he also hasn't he hasn't cooked yet so that also gives him this extra extra layer of spy what I love about Pascal sorry not to H on about Pascal my favorite character on show is um how Keeny is for everyone to know that he's given cracken scores and and and everyone's like no this is a secret ballot but it's going to come out in the end and you'll see that I was like a lovely generous man um and it's crack up to me yeah there's always this um as we'll get on to and then the the next team who compete and then also uh Pascal and Vicki lot of pressure on them for all the talk and the chat that they've been doing at the table that I think makes everyone uh a little bit extra critical you know because they've been so vocal about how they think they how skilled they are or how unskilled everyone else's um Street food's easy said Pascal when he saw the the pancakes on the menu yeah Manu then puts him in his place I love it when Manu throws down I think Manu do you reckon that Manu secretly maybe not so secretly hates Pascal yeah when he is talking and like musing about the um the menus and stuff you can just see that I mean they've got pretty good poker faces for the most part but Manu just has these little flickers of like flaming hatred I think a bit of Intel from my interview that didn't make it into the piece is they definitely did not like Pascal like when I started talking about that is oh my God I think they just feel threatened by Pascal cuz he has like a near complete knowledge of culinary techniques and Cuisine of the world and they're sort of like well that's sort of our role and Pascal's like what am I supposed to do with all this awesome stuff I have going on they're like well just keep it in your mouth that's basically what's going on look there could be two things happen here I don't know if you recall if you were watching way back on mkr Australia there were a pair of friends I think their names were Lee and Jennifer it's very early on but one of them was kind of like obnoxiously scathing in the instant restaurants and she'd give her opinion and then just go um yeah all the time but then they were [ __ ] amazing like every you kind of felt the edit was building up to them having a disaster and you felt like they were just going to have their come ups but they were amazing I feel like that might happen with Pascal he might actually be really good cook I mean he better be and he's actually like kind of holding back a little bit like he could go harder but he knows he's going to go on the either there or they're going to tank I hope they tank I hope he brings out like cucumbers and buns that kind that is an award-winning dish by the way no one's ever done it and there's no reason why not um Mano says like and we can probably add this to the real po book of little book of inspiration nothing's easy unless you know how to do it which is like yeah true that is a great toilet I that I rate that you know what advice I literally has nearly transformed my life is the honey badges it's not his original quote but preparation prevents piss poor performance I had taken that and run with it so hard in every facet of my life over the last few years that's true that meeting that we had for remember when last week was out the G right preparedness I'm going to try and work on through the line Jimmy not at it you know like go through Steve price through the line imagine if you ran a marathon I just stopped at the line and not through it and then someone else went past how embarrassing would that be really embarrassing what about you D any reality inspiration I mean I'm sure there is but whenever I'm put on the spot my my give a piss po performance you a king dingling that's a good one I think you should think that I last said King dingling yesterday it's so good the other clue that Manu is uh not Pascal's biggest fan is that when um when Pascal was critiquing the pancakes he was like the garlic is sticking you know the tast of garlic is sticking around in my mouth kind of thing and Manu was like I love it uh I love how the flavors stick around like immediately after Pascal had just said that they screwed up the shoe pastry three times oh yeah that seem really stressful yes smart thing to do though to keep going until until they got it right because they would have had a that would have been a disaster if they' tried to cook those runny ones oh never C never cook the runny ones they have a dry sausage situation though too that's true this is a very rud pod I did not I look that sausage Dash not for me no it didn't seem it seemed like um sauage they were doing that weird thing where they were kind of like I don't know going in funny shape in the little cut up buts where they're kind of bulging and then bulging but the S there was nothing to the source it just felt very like look at you it needed it needed some more um oomph to it like I think one of the judges recommended that they cook it with the lentil controversial but it would have just given a bit more of a I don't know pres on the plate I I thought what what Fage uh described as sounded delicious in terms of the his reimagining of how it was kind of assembled the Stacked situation the plating was kind of like you know that that was classic plate was that was your plate at home yeah that was home cooking being done badly though apparently I thought they got got off quite lightly given how poorly reviewed this was with the score yeah totally uh the dessert I mean perfect perfect perfect around um I mean it got a got a bloody tin didn't it from Mano uh Pascal is necking the sauce straight from the little ptle thing so that also made me want that a lot yummy it's good to see salted caramel still Making Waves I I thought I was kind of surprised I thought that mission like in the city of orlanders would have been cuz salted caramel feels pretty washed now as a flavor I think you'll find the Mission Bay is quite washed like they still quite entrench I don't think I think in ponon B they're probably on the tip of cuisine in Mission Bay it's still very much like day Fontaine you know I reckon I reckon Soldier caramel's got a long time to go yet yeah it's like it's like a panini yeah yeah it'll still be going definitely there's definitely still massive Panini sales happening at Easter idge it's a great format but it it just it has a bit of a a stink on it um they got sevens all round from every team which is great cons I think that's that's a review of their personality as much as it is their food like I don't know those pancakes that dessert I mean the sausage thing was like not the the sausage was dry but they said it tasted yum but the were but they were talking about it was being near in inedible and it was the heart of the dish was everyone talking about it being inedible or just n and pots no there was there was a there was a clear majority of people who thought it was a dry sauce and how do you make a Sausage dry in that context where it's so wet I don't know but ask these guys cuz they they know how pop said if you had served that to me I would have sent your ass back to the kitchen to nards and yeah and then you're right Pascal came out and went actually I rate it I think it's pretty cool to say pretty cool is really funny let go he's the man he's the Mantis anyway at the end of the day they they got 74 they're top of the leaderboard they safest houses men bring that back as well if we bringing back mentis can we also bring back Manus yes they're sort of like pair words yeah um episode two so we were in the Eastern suburbs the eastern central suburbs last episode episode two of the week and we're now in prop Eastern sub have we finished with yeah but did we do we talk about getting 74 yes I just said that I said they're at the top of the leaderboard they're not you were too busy mening I was was um okay we are uh we're in sort of how area maybe yeah I was trying to figure it out cuz they were just Monster houses oh yeah on on quite big sections look I didn't watch last week's in fall but so far from what I've seen no one needs this 100 Grand no one needs it less than these people they're going to donate it to a new car yeah yeah or it's just like a new set of tires on the Tesla sort of thing yeah it's um it's it's and when you think about it like the the nature of the show does lean towards people who've got the disposable income to buy a lot of mean just buying food at all entry they need to do like a real world version where it's like what can you make L rules yes like what can you do with a pack of too many noodles you know oh we know we do know great cheese on it sandwich cheese on them yeah that's that's always that's my signature um dish is meering two packets of meering noodles uh Flav uh just the Classic drain the S drain the um water put all of the sauces in and then great Heats of cheese on it stir it all together into some big glue I call them heart attack noodles cuz your heart sort of go really really I think so much salt um you feel like you're going to die afterwards but it's the most delicious thing speaking of too much salt let's get into this instant restaurant oh this is a really I'm obsessed with these two can we just talk about the relationship is so yeah Julie and Matthew oh she gives us your oh look okay the the instant restaurant beautiful the words they've got like they've got their logo like embossed into the actual table for crying out loud they've got what look like very expensive candles just it looks like you're escaping into a just a beautiful Woodland wedding it looks better than most restaurants yeah yeah uh which which really highlighted how much the other restaurant looked a little bit like you'd gone into junkan disorderly and spent $50 and just uh checked up some vintage which the should be done metal planes to be clear I think it also set the bar higher for them you know in terms of the look of everything and the steaks and then the food started coming out and but they got yeah so we got to keep talking to about them that they've got such a they're very cute relationship like I love him sort of proudly talking about being a mommy's boy she's so proud of him well she is but she also NS him quite a bit yeah but he's such a sweet boy he for his mom when she's like time FL they are not those are not dairy flowers down those are no Dairy flowers I've ever seen the flowers aren't Dairy flowers the way they are assembled in a bouquet is not how you would get them can I be Pascal the contrarian cuz I reckon in a in some sort of fancy rich suburb I can imagine a deir having like a relationship with a fancy florist of the the area and you can just order in a fancy bouquet through them that's my theory of it I disagree I just don't think I think I think it was I think you know they got some flowers and they dropped them at the da and then they shot it that's what I think happened anyway anyone production I don't think we've got any mkr production people listening e it's not we we're not their Vibe are we I I gave one of the publicity people oh know publicity is fine but they won't know they won't know that a workings okay so this is clearly their own house right because the oven's broken first thing to do is you call Colleen okay Colleen and clus um thank God for Colleen and clous and the units down the road a bit and I I have to say those ovens I've been there sometimes those SM they blow out they do this thing where like if you accidentally press like the wrong button and they' said that they had the timer going you I reckon they've set it to start at a certain time instead of and then it and then it blocks it from actually being able to turn on 10 minutes on SM SM there two things one is like the thermostat can blow so it just runs full noise like it's 280° only which probably wouldn't good for the pork by the way it probably would have been but then there's there's another thing basically like they just seem to have sort of regulating temperature issues cuz the oven was on like it was getting 50 the other light wasn't going so I reckon there was some retained heat from something that they were getting that 50° cuz 50° ain't cooking nothing I mean I just it was you sort of feel desperately sad for them cuz it's not it's it's a non-trivial thing to be cooking at someone else's house well you can't check on it asly as you would and if she had been able to though she definitely had a different cooking method than either of the chefs professional chefs would have recommended and she she had walked in in tending that she talked about at the top of the well she's done it before though so she's obviously got nice you know she has her way of getting a crackle but it's very difficult to get a crackle at Colleen's house when you're not next to the oven isn't it everyone knows that I wanted a camera on Colleen like I want Colleen now completely under the pump her life's been turned upside down on this evening she was probably settling into you know watch a nice movie or something and now she's got you know padilly circus coming through the cakes not only there but she probably feels a little bit responsible that there was no crickle like completely out of her control but she's been drawn in unbeknownst you know and then this happens um Matt and curtain at the end of the episode when they found out about the broken oven were like yep you know broken oven that does suck but you know they had a neighbor they could chuck it and I think they underplayed yeah it wasn't like a direct neighbor it was down the road yeah definitely and they I think they underplayed like how much that would [ __ ] with you yeah when the main apparatus you need to make the meal is not working m it's like n LEL shirt also did you notice when they had their little brisco's shop before the cook they bought an electric walk like just right before it I was like this is hectic I know that is not preparation poor but I think it also means Partnerships um sort of arriving thick and fast cuz there was no brisco's integration in the first couple of episodes correct no incorrect they have the brisco's knives the knives have got brisos bring branding on them which also begs the question look I don't want to [ __ ] on brisos uh brisos are Absol better they toping knives at at the Brisco I reckon they would have some good knives at Brisco like I I Brisco I kind of rate Brisco but yeah they they they bought it in new walk and they were deep frying chips in the walk those chips didn't look crunchy no one mentioned the chips but they didn't look crunchy at all to me and you only got three but then they were trying to do like a take on Fish and Chips I thought they were a bit mean about the like okay admittedly the the curry sauce around the edge just it looked bad do you know what that's real lord kitchen of Vibes I don't know if you're familiar with Lord kitchen Lord kit sand sand so sandri for the uninitiated is a a highly populated Indian area the most amazing Indian restaurants and then there's this like English pub problematic name aggressively English pub but they but they always did their like um you know they had like a like a carry dip sort of like a nod to the community for the fishing chips well but that's also English staple right C but that would I feel like if they' made the sauce in a little pole agree agree think people eat as much or as little as they like don't spell it around nightmarish it looks nightmarish it looked like a lot for an entree I mean yummy I would eat I would eat I me fine give me a lck again you don't have to eat I'm just so hungry I I I just want some food I think people were really rough on the menu like they're not giving us enough information you I that's normal have you been to a restaurant in Oakland lately it's all like that it's all sort of these are the kind of components or flavors you sort of do it that's that's that's actually fine and and dare I suggest it on Trend more so than um same but also like the black forest and they're like oh no is it a cake is it a moose is it who cares is it yum yeah I mean but it's most likely a cake and it was you know yeah Mano getting wound up about that I'm like chill out know but Pascal was even B he was like they're not being honest with us like they're trying to Hoodwink us here I'm sure that was their intention um what else do we have what was their M oh the pork belly pork belly with uh God God it was rubbery wasn't it it was a rubbery pork belly with a pnip Imp in Sultana pass Snips delicious underrated vegetable yeah and so it was a passet PE was it a passet p pure with a bit of sulana andana n was not interested in the sultanas I have been pitching interview with Tash Sana like 700 times can I tell can I tell a story like this is the this is the I reckon the funniest gag I've ever had as a in my long and whatever it is career in journalism so the um well they they they come to New Zealand quite often I think just because we're here and they're very popular in Australia and there's this sort of assumption out of Australian markets that what works there should work here and they just sort of and you just take it onto the schedule and no one no one wants to talk to the hipop and R&B stations consider them basically a comedy act uh and no one else would want yeah like there's just there is no constituency for That interview so in desperation I was once paid to do like a pretend interview with them that was never going to be published but I just just to make the band feel just to make it feel like they're normal they're probably like wait I can't wait to read the interview we did with the Duncan grave can you bleep out the name of the artist cuz I'm probably breaking my IND by doing this but honestly like there are some artists that's just impossible to interview you know when I talked to them for an hour I was cracking chat I this sorry we are wait what's this got to with literally anything maybe pitch I don't know okay so an Australian hip hop oh gotcha okay but anyway salanas back to salana salanas um NADA not interested in having any any sort of fruit with her meat get off the show you're not a foodie but also like you have applesauce with pork yummy she says no she also is like uh this is weird I think peer and pork again is a classic combination put Salan have I've seen saltan and and in meals before very normal very look what was her like she said it was like you're putting what was it it's like like putting putting salami on your yeah on your pava p no it's not it's like putting Tamarind Chutney on your like there are so many like fruit with meat is so normal and sweet with Savory like banana banana and bacon and maple syrup you know classic that's just just wild anyway I think the working over time they really don't want to be at the bottom they'll be much more generous with next week scoring to try and like redeem themselves as nice people redeemable um the putting of the put the the transferring of the uh the Black Forest batter into the molds was quite intense closeups with like all their fingers just like poking down and I can't do it anymore mom take over lovely team sweeties uh what else oh urine pnip was one that the other wo Creek it was really good that would be supposed to say I don't know but definitely said your own pass pnip I I draw the line there I love a pnip but I don't want your own pnip your own fertilizer as well I've been reading I don't know if we trust you anymore though with with produce information I feel like your gardening column should go head to-head with Gabby's gardening column and uh I'd be interested see what the D us tells us about the relative quality of your advice now having not really um because I wasn't here last week having not really taken in much of last week's episodes I didn't have a lot of information about Matt and Julie as as people until I watched these right and there was I did think when they kept getting like not such good feedback and he was being very optimistic about it and it's like it's fine it's fine I was like he has all the confidence of a white man man but now having made it all the way through the episode I'm like he's just looking out for his mom and trying to boy her up it's very S I know he was keeping it together for Mom I love that and they were so excited to to be on mkr and they really believed in like the quality of the food and it it is frustrating cuz we don't get to we never know what they would have been like with a functioning oven yeah but it did seem like because every dish was panned basically even though like I think that the black forest was a little bit of a you know wasn't perfect and like you know they got sort of some pity scores there uh bloody up and down to Colleen's like a yo-yo like difficult evening for it was an hour between on TR main to which didn't help okay just gave people particularly n and Pops another you know any slight thing to kind of have a we go at um but God she got her steps in didn't she Julie that night she did I just hope they feel and of like like I hope that they don't feel embarrassed about what what happened on the TV I don't think they I would have eaten every single one of the all of every single one of those things I don't know that aning ACH yum I would I would have liked to try that dessert yeah me you know I thought it looked really really nice again I'd eaten all of it but the guest scored them 23 out of 40 look I think most of the scores were reasonable except n and Pops well Counterpoint yeah I mean maybe only n and Pops was reasonable like what were they getting sixes they got sixes and and sevens right uh seven some yeah seven like seven was what all of the good ones were getting and they at least this was like a a rolling disaster unless you're adjusting the score to to compensate for the oven I think even six was a reach if you use the same you're also judging on flavors in that too so like again with the pork yes it was a bit the hero didn't work out but I think it was still like edible all versus like the best bisque that's ever been created which is also a seven you know what I mean like it's just uh did you see their restaurant yeah you know points for presentation no one else had t five was probably the right score okay well I just thought it was really interesting when n and Pops were doing the scoring they were like I don't know a five and then and then pops was like I'm thinking of four and then n was so quick to say well you went with my school last time so yes I agree only fear that we go with your score strategic voiding to to get through to the next round but they would never even if n and Pops had given them a decent score at St wouldn't have done enough but they didn't know that at the time no uh so I think you know unless our matate uh Vicky and pescal have an absolute disaster in the kitchen next week we're going to be saying goodbye to M and son yeah a they can just go back to the lovely big fancy house beautiful Dairy lovely da provides everything you need y we don't but we don't know where they where they shop I mean we know they go to the butcher but we don't know where they do their supermarket shopping that was not did they not show us this just brisos and the butcher oh that's weird isn't it yeah but interesting to see Pharaoh on the uh as part of the the mission base Miss Bay set yeah that's a first appearance I love watching them go shoping I got to tell you you need to watch uh what is it eat well for they do a lot of shopping the year uh can we talk about how the guy from eat well for L was on um house rules we I feel like did we talk about house rules at all cuz that came and went no no we didn't cuz it was CTI season it's annoying did did any of you watch it Nikki was like obsessed with it thought it was such a great season she thought it was good really good really good she loved it way more than look I just ask the programmers to please not put your big key shows up against each other we can only recap so much at a time well they do counter programming you know that's one of the great frustrations but but they don't need to but they do but they shouldn't because of us but they should but I I mean I also think they shouldn't just because it's actually not about TV and Z2 versus three it is about television versus the internet you should want there to be good things on all the time to keep the maximum audence in Industry to make it work to make it great again hell the world okay 62 out of 100 by the way is the score they gone they gone okay see was there anything else any other business no I don't think so okay great ah I got I got a corny corny by proxy in a meeting with a a publicist who was like and I don't know what this means but my daughter asked me to tell you that she's a corny and she's sorry so much oh wow so shout out to Joyce down Christ Church the message was received and reciprocated I think she's very much an adult um but it just came through I got a corny I got a corny by proxy actually through um when we were doing MEAP pod and our lovely member Julie came up with some chocolate fish for us all um and it turned out that her niece is a corny and she didn't know she was like she was like you're friends with my niece I was like I and then she sort of told me and then I kind of I was like huh let me put this all together and I did a mind map and then I realized that she was a corny and I do adore Jo um I also had a I had a direct contact with a corny last week Beth who's uh in Communications for spark little company might have might have heard of it spark they actually sponsor business is boring so I than spark and uh she invited me to Spark's Ag and I unfortunately had a last minute Clash so I didn't make it but uh big shout out to to Beth uh who who was very professional in her business and then just like checked in like a really piercingly on point piece of CTI analysis at the end which was like I love that wait actually one more from the corner um this is a lot of any other business now very it be very corny related but one of the corny saw another corny in the wild and they cross pollinate they didn't cross po that's the wrong word to use the wrong sorry apologies but they um oh I just remembered I just remembered Matt talking about ramming stuff down Jolie's throat yeah that was really really tough that that was was as tough as the pork Valley anyway the two corny saw each other and um one of them was like I'm a corny and the other courney was Courtney from bov and just thought that this Courtney was saying your name wrong so there was like a real real pod interaction there for a little minute before they figured out what was happening which was real cute beautiful
