in the Bengals locker room with Miles Murphy miles hottest practice of the year I know it wasn't the the heaviest team drills wise but do you think today was the hottest day it was either today or the first day of pass like both both of them felt hot but to say the first day of pass was more taxing today wasn't all that bad but temperature wise it might have been the hottest felt like it yeah it it definitely felt like it you guys had one session of a full team and and you guys got to get be a little more physical I feel like on defense than you have in the past break down the what I think would have been a safety you came off the edge against uh against amarius and you got the Joe obviously you had to let up there do you remember the play I'm talking about you beat him on the edge uh yeah I think so it was uh might have been the last I think it's the last snap yeah it might have been the last snap of of that period that this coming out drill so pretty much offense is backed up D we we got to pin our ears back get after it whether rer pad just penetrate the o line just get him in the back field so that that's really that's really our biggest thing right there um you know everything's about to get off and find my way back there honestly yeah that the story of that period to me was you and what you did and then Joseph and what he did because you both had potential safeties obviously he had his in the Run game but how confident are you in in your ability getting all these snaps and then Joseph as well with with Trey and Sam down right now you guys are kind of leading the show at the end uh I mean honestly I feel like these reps are very beneficial to the to the end honestly about we we of course we have two vet guys and try and Sams they played a lot of reps they know how the game CLS they have a groove of how they like to play but I feel like us getting these snaps is kind of getting us I guess acclimated to more acclimated to just NFL like figuring ourselves out figuring out our player style so once the two got once TR Sam our back and rotations happen it's no drop off we're still getting out the quarterback you know so I feel like it's beneficial to the dine as a whole I believe I think pass rush wise that gets talked about a lot on social media of course and fans pay attention to that but obviously the Run game is super important too and what you do uh in the run I noticed it multiple times recently I'm just thinking about yesterday's practice against Chase I know you shed uh Marius you were able to get Chase in space and and would have tackled him of course what uh what is your mindset how big of an emphasis is it for Lou in that room for you guys as DM to not only play the pass but also the r um honestly just point of attack like point of attack football that's that's what he preaches that's what uh Lou and hobby preach all the time just point of point of attack football if you don't know what to do just get vertical penetrate but I'm about to say of course I knew what the play was I knew what to do set set the edge and really just almost let the ball come to me about to say Mar marage he's a big guy like even even on just like setting the edge base blocks that's a load but it's Stay Stay disciplined knowing knowing what your job is and then just keeping contained honestly how beneficial is it dealing with a marius's size day in and day out cuz it's that that's unique it's not like every uh tackle that you face is going to have his size and power I think it's very very beneficial just like uh just like man Joe getting a lot of just getting a lot of reps me going against air someone just that size that stature that quickness I think is very beneficial as well I mean like like you said it's not not it's not a lot of people in the NFL built like that now there are a lot of people in the NFL that are very technical very athletic very strong but I feel like going against him every day is great work like honestly just get great work physically and mentally honestly just being able to develop a pess plan and just growing honestly we learned today and I'm sure you heard before today but Zach told us that cam sample out for the season with the the Achilles just your reaction to such an awful injury to a teammate now of of two years for you uh I mean I obviously it sucks um the cam he's one of those guys that does everything right so it it was it suck to see it um sck suck to hear what it was and how long he would be out and honestly it just I guess still kind of a surreal feeling like just knowing I don't know just knowing that he is down and just seeing him on a like day to day-to-day basis before the injury just doing all the right things recovery getting in here studying The Playbook just doing really doing all the right things and just seeing him go down like that it it kind of does hurt a little bit yeah what do you say in that type of what do you say in that type of situation to him I mean it's it's tough yeah but I mean it's no it's no blueprint to to that honestly about to say just I mean honestly just get the guys he loves around him honestly um he's around he's around the D line every day so we we of course was all like immediately just as soon as we got back to the locker room and saw him we was all you know just showing them love honestly so that's really all I know to do that's really all we have done just show them love and just kind of keep kind of just keep keep his spirits up as best you can miles I appreciate the time oh yeah for sure
