>> Time now for your 4 warn Weather Center. Kane. All right. Happy Thursday, Utah. Let's talk about some good news. We've got this cold front making its way through the state ahead of that front. We've got warm air temperatures are several degrees warmer than where they were yesterday at this time behind the front, we've got temperatures that are much cooler where they were yesterday at this time. So if you're in the northern half, the states are walking out the door and saying how man? >> Doesn't feel too bad out there. We've got 50's and 60's blowing into the state whereas to the south we've got 60's and mid 70 still hanging on tough now. The land are still out there blowing anywhere between 10 to 20 miles per hour in many spots. So there's a breeze ahead of that front, though. It's warm breeze behind that front. That's where we have that cool breeze showing up. But all of course we've been talking about over the past. 24 hours, the smoke, the haze, as has been very prominent out there is because we had this big plume of smoke to happen. And for those fires down in Southern California. But that is moving away. Now with that cold front. But on the backside, we turn our winds to the north to west. That taps into the thick smoke over southern Idaho and brings it right on down towards the northern half of the state. So look for more smoke and haze to build. And even though we're going to get rid of one source, we're going to bring in another sources, heavy smoke as we go throughout this afternoon. Also want to let you know with those winds are expected to still be gusty across the east and South eastern half of the state. So with those gusty winds, that low humidity between 6 and 12% watch out for critical fire concerns again as we get towards eastern half of the state here from Vernal over towards Green River and Moab down towards Blanding in Lake Powell. That's what we've got red flag warnings in effect getting that means that we can see any fires that sparked a spread radically across the state here. As those winds start to pick up later on this afternoon, very similar to what we saw across the northern half of the state yesterday. Here's a look at your future cast again. We've got this big dip in the jet stream is big pool of cool air first major taste of fall air coming in behind this front as we go into the weekend, that roster retreat a little bit to the north. So moderate temperatures and warm up a little bit. But high pressure in charge. That means lots of sunshine for the weekend. And then as we head into next week, we've got another big storm system dipped down towards central and southern California. That one makes its way towards us as we get towards the beginning of next week around next Monday night into Tuesday, bringing yet another surge of cool air this time cooler potentially than the first search. So let's talk about today. High temperatures climbing to only around 70 in Salt Lake City, 67 and need 5.58 in Evanston. 65 in Logan. So that's about 15 to 20 degrees. Cooler. Then yesterday afternoon, you can see not getting out the 60's over eastern Nevada and then heading down towards South question at the state. 75 in Cedar City? Only about 90 in Saint George and then notice it stays little warmer across the southeast as you're going to be a little late getting that cool air. Now look at tonight. 51 in Salt Lake City, 40 degrees expected in Logan. And look at this. 42 Delta, 40 in 47 and Hanks, bill and 48 degrees expected and ask a But here's something that we haven't seen in quite some time, folks. That's right. I got to let you know about freeze alerts out there. We've got freeze watches that go into effect tonight for our friends over toys at Park City, the Heber Valley over towards Heber City, Charleston and over towards Colville as well. With that temperatures there likely dropping down into the upper 20's to low 30's by tomorrow morning. So that could kill some of those sensitive plants and crops that you may have out there. So this is the first freeze letter. Of course, this is for areas where that cold air really drains down. But it gives you an idea we're starting to enter into a different type of weather pattern here across the region. So Saint George hazy, smoky sunshine temperatures near 90 degrees. Low 90's for your Friday and Saturday will watch out for chance of a few pop-up storms next week with a stronger fall system moving our way along the Wasatch Front, Smoky haze and breezy condit
