what is going on guys welcome back to the channnel Panthers advice today man the Panthers do something crazy before the first game of the season now you know maybe it's not crazy but it's still a little while to do five days before week one all right Panthers release pass rusher ahead of week one it's not Clowny but it's this guy right here Kevon Chason now here's the thing with cevon I had hope as did the Jags when they drafted him in 2020 I had hoped that he was going to finally break out of I guess his slump since he got to the NFL former first round pick by the Jags in 2020 what four years there four years there 73 tackles five sacks and two passes defended so why did the Panthers take a chance on him because they saw potential right just like the Jags did and they needed somebody opposite jvon Clowny to really cause Havoc Javon Clowny is going to get double teamed he's going to get chipped with this the tight end or the running back on the left or right side you need somebody on the other side who can basically tea off at the quarterback who can beat the tackle time and time again so if clar is getting double teamed you need somebody opposite who's going to cause Havoc right the Panthers haven't found that yet EKU is not bad DJ wm's hurt you know I'm going do a video on Jamie Sheriff coming out tonight or in the morning but they haven't found it yet and then when you saw Caleb vongh in preseason you never talked about him you never talked about him EKU showed me he had a little something something in his bag caleon it was like a bull rush or speed rush every single time right and if you look at his stats when he was at Jacksonville 16 games played 19 tackles 12 solo 2021 15 games played 31 tackles one sack so look at this 31 games only two sacks his first two years I think 2022 he was hurt nine games one sack 10 tackles 2023 17 games played two sacks nine tackles so that mean that right there kind of tells you essentially everything you need to know unfortunately right and if you look at his draft profile let's take a look right here what's ironic it says right here boom or bust potential boom right he's going to be amazing for the Jaguars or just going to be a bust and as of right now unfortunately it looks like he's going to be a bust you know it's unfortunate it is what it is I don't want to spend too much time on this let's talk about the Panthers moving forward what are we going to do as of right now outside linebackers on the left Clowny and Sheriff again stay tuned for the video coming out on him he's a young guy and there's potential there on the right side once again all about potential with DJ Johnson new to the defensive side of football Panthers took a chance on him we'll see how that goes ulota he's still kind of finding his group right he showed me he can do a little bit of everything but he's still kind of fighting his group DJ has all the potential in the world can he live up to it those are outside linebackers Jamie DJ and EKU right Clowny obviously is going to start I'm really hoping I'm really hoping that the Panthers let cbon go and they're going to bring in somebody else because Dave caneles just said starting opposite Edge rusher so right outside linebacker most likely is going to be a game day decision you know I'm not going to lie I was confident about this team I can't even get it out I've had I I can't even get it out I've messed it up three times the fact we don't know who the opposite Edge rusher of Javon clown is going to be for week one is it's not a good look on top of that danne Jackson being out so then we're have a I mean it man it you know I still like our front seven even with not having an opposite Edge rusher right now of Clowny I still honestly in all seriousness I do like the front seven Brown Tuttle Robinson clowny Shaq Josie Trevon I I do like the front seven in all seriousness I don't love this though I don't love that we don't know who we're putting here be Yanik right here a little bit older 29 years old but he's pretty good next one's reic I I go back and forth with reic I mean he's good but he's holding out will that happen my guess is no I think was in Buffalo that's a possibility right there you got rashim right here in Seattle Now Dave likes the Seattle people this this might be the move right we'll we'll see what happens but this might be the move Charles Harris tried out last week played for current defensive line coach there's a possibility right there Maris Haynes I mean I don't know this is another one where I've seen people go back and forth on because it's like okay just bringing Maris in he knows the system he's 30 I didn't see a lot last year but I guess if you want somebody who knows the system you could do that Shane Ray hasn't played in six years so I highly doubt they're going to get him Austin Bryant once again played for the current dline coach 27 years old a little bit younger and then Derrick Rivers who's 30 we'll see let me know your thoughts my guess if I was a betting man would probably be rashim right here right that's my guess rashim orash Shack if I had to guess Yanik you know we'll see what happens you know like it says right here he tried on the off season but my guess for being realistic rashim or Shaq let me know your thoughts that's pretty much going to wrap it up I mean it's still crazy to release somebody who was potentially not going to start I mean I don't know who was going to start when it's all a sudden done but to release somebody who is probably going to get some snaps five days
