[Music] good evening and welcome back to WTV 9 Sports I'm Jason Williams currently live in Starkville now college football week one has arrived in just 5 days those Gates right behind me will be opened for the Mississippi State Bulldogs who are getting ready to begin season number 125 and in season number 125 will begin a new era as Jeff lebby will be entering his first year leading the miss Mississippi State Bulldogs and this is his first year as a head coach ever and now he's not the only new face for Mississippi State this season as they have only three starters back total from last year so that means there's going to be 19 total new starters heading into this upcoming season and heading into the matchup this week Jeff leby says the biggest challenge for his guys is handling their emotions yeah I want our guys you know I think there's going to be a ton of emotion I I do I don't think there's any doubt about it you know you build up to this point it being year one at being season one laying the foundation our guys are going to be incredibly excited to play and so uh My Hope for them we've talked a ton about it but making sure we're not using energy on things that don't matter another challenge this team will be facing ahead of this game is the old injury bug heading into this week the team will be without transfer wide receiver Kelly aari and returning safety cing ell Ellington due to that injury bug and lebby also added that running back Jeffrey pit is not currently with the team and that is due to an internal matter so that means plenty of guys are going to get an opportunity to play start or get significant playing time in this week's game Mississippi state is going to kick off their season against Eastern Kentucky inside of that Stadium behind me this Saturday that game set to start at 5:00 in Starkville I'm Jason Williams
