[Music] okay so today we're going to be talking about Aphasia these are the different loes of the brain the first one here is the frontal [Music] lobe the second one here at the bottom is the temporal lobe and the occipital lobe in the back and the parietal Lo up at the top and this is looking at the left surface of the brain If you're looking at the left hemisphere so here in blue that blue dot that I just put on is the brokas area if someone were to have a lesion in this area they'd have brokas Aphasia which has characteristics of um disfluency and difficulty speaking the second one is they omit function words like a and the but they still have relatively preserved comprehension in conversation they understand what others are saying here this red dot represents the Wares area if there were to be a lesion or stroke in this area um it would result in Wares Aphasia um that would result or look like fluent speech which is different from broka area where dis fluent um and then this one they would have difficulty comprehending others in conversation whereas broker's area that remains intact and then the third is their context and the words they speak don't have meaning and that is aasia um when someone says Aphasia they're typically referring to these two um and Aphasia the definition is an acquired disorder of language function thank you [Music]
