Beetlejuice 2 Cast: 19 Returning & New Characters (Plus 3 Actors Not Returning From Original)

and as a longtime fan of Tim Burton's quirky and imaginative films I must say that the casting choices for Beetlejuice 2 have left me rather intrigued on one hand it's a bit disheartening to see some original cast members not returning like Alec Baldwin as Adam matland and J Davis as Barbara matland their performances in the first film were iconic and their absence will undoubtedly leave La void however I can understand Burton's desire to craft a new story without relying too heavily on past successes and as Janna IGA is Su to be part of the Ensemble for the movie Beetle Juice Beetle Juice sharing the screen with a stellar array of fresh faces including Willam defo and Monica beluchi and following a lengthy journey and its creation Beetle Juice 2 is poised to carry on with The Narrative of Michael Keaton's character the Corky bio Exorcist who may once again play the role of the Deets family's potential rescuer Lydia Deets played by wona Ryder along with her defiant teenager Astrid Ortega find themselves back in the Chile town of winter River unaware of the perils working ahead and in the cast for Tim Burton's upcoming sequel several actors he admires like Danny DeVito have been included some of his longtime Associates such as Johnny Depp however doesn't doesn't make it onto this project the film titled Beetlejuice is a reference to its title character in the upcoming sequel actor Michael Keaton once again takes on the role of Beetlejuice and mischevous ghostly bio Exorcist who in the original film caused Havoc for the dska family before being once more confined to the afterlife waiting room uh in the sequel uh Beetlejuice seeks retribution against Lydia uh as she deceived in the original film um if Lydia had had pledged to Wed him uh once he rescued Adam and Barbara the ghostly duel residing in the de's household um yet this Union never materialized following his unfortunately demise at the jaws of a sandworm uh and the sequel titled Beetle juu to lyia seeks assistance from Beetle juu when she finds herself in a predicament her predicament arises after being deceived into swapping her soul with the murderous ghost who had Enchanted her while they were in winter forever and he's also on the run from the afterlife police and his ex-wife uh who's out to suck his soul and Keaton is most famously recognized for playing the character Bruce Wayne or Batman in the 1989 film Batman Additionally the actor taken on significant roles in movie Spider-man on homecoming Birdman The Flash and the founder talk and on a rider as back as Lydia deed the main protagonist of the first movie uh in the movie Beetle Juice Lydia developed a friendship with the spirits Adam and Barbara who originally sought beetlejuice's help to frighten her and her kin away from their land changes from uh all of this and so in the initial movie Beetlejuice harbored profound ramantic sentiments towards Lydia which nearly led to a marriage in the spirit realm uh one Lydia is coming back to her old house can only lead to a runin with her past love interest interestingly she was the one who released Beetle Juice initially in the following installment the duo team up on a mission to rescue asid lyia child from the clutches of a malevolent Spirit known as Jeremy Jeremy aims to seize astd Soul offering him a second chance at life in the world of the living in return in the movie Beetle juu 2 Lydia's complex Dynamics with astd along with her profession as a spiritual intermediary are similarly portrayed uh uh Beyond his memorable performances writer is also renowned for embodying characters such as joce spers from stranger things Amy March and Little Women and Charlotte flax and mermaid another original cast member who returns in Beetle Juice Beetle Juice is awarding winning actress Katherine O'Hara the actress plays Lydia's stepmother dilia Deets uh dilia currently the uh proprietor of the human Candace Art Gallery is deeply grieving the loss of her spouse Charles following his tragic demise at at the jaws of a shark she goes back to Winter River with Lydia and asked her for Charles's funeral um uh previously oara uh has been featured in the movies Home Alone Home Al loone to lost in New York AR gu and Glenn Martin DDS uh in addition O'Hara will make an appearance in The Last of Us season two on HBO uh generala is the fresh face joining a cast of beo juice portraying astred a defiant and distant character who is Livia's daughter in the town of winter River astred encounters young man named Jeremy and they develop a romantic relationship but there's something eerie about Jeremy he's deceased and seeking to claim Astrid's Spirit instead as a dedicated Cinema Enthusiast I myself was drawn into the story unaware of a soul swapping Arrangement all I yearn for was a glimpse of my deceased Father Richard in the Hereafter the appearance of Jeremy only served to reinforced notion that much like my mother I too could perceive spirits uh Arte is rapidly making a name for themselves having taken on significant Parts in the movies uh screen screen six Miller's girl Jurassic world Camp Cretaceous and Wednesday asid's narrative in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice though not present in the initial movie can be seen as a logical continuation or an extension of the story from Beetlejuice in the story line Justin thorough plays the role of Rory who is both Lydia's manager and her fiance eager for their Union Rory wishes to expedite their marriage Rory attends the Deets family gathering following the demise of Charles at the funeral itself he inappropriately proposes to Lydia on her beloved day Halloween and later on it's made clear that worry intends to marry Lydia solely for her wealth and delts her ability to perceive Spirits uh thrill boast more than 60 acting roles across various Productions including American Psycho your highness and The Spy Who dumped me at Arthur kti plays the character of Jeremy and Beetle Jew too this role involves Jeremy deceiving as by tricking her into swapping their souls allowing him to once more create chaos in the world of the living and apart from that he's cognizant of the de's family lineage and their uh connections to the house in Winter River where Adam and Barbara reside and some covered the 23-year-old Jeremy was a murderer having taken the lives of his own parents tragically he later met his end by falling from a treehouse while attempting to evade capture by law enforcement officers following a cry and his first appearance on the big screen kti stars and Beetlejuice too notably he has previously acted in House of the dragon as well um in the spirit real it's willing defo character wolf Jackson a law enforcer who chases Beetlejuice the reason Beetlejuice apparently has breached Rules by bringing Lydia to this afterlife which goes against the guidelines outlined in the handbook for The Departed uh in contemporary life wolf is a well-known figure who frequently takes on roles as a police officer or detective unable to quench his passion for upholding justice during his time on Earth wolf now holds the position of Chief in the afterlife law enforcement agency essentially he gets to live out his dream of being a law enforcer uh in the in the spirit realm um uh the foe is most famously recognized for his portrayal of Norman Osborne Green Goblin in the films Spider-Man 2002 uh Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man no way home the actor also starred in inside Mr Bean's Holiday and Aquaman in the sequel Monica baluchi plays the role of Dolores the former wife of beetlejus causing Mischief in the spirit world and honeying down Mon and Dolores heads a malevolent Soul devouring cult that seeks beetlejuice's spirit for Everlasting existence and Luchi has gained prominence through her appearances in films such as the Matrix Revolutions dear Paris and Mozart in the jungle uh in a different phrasing Burn Gorman portrays father danan the clergyman conducting the funeral for Charles Deets additionally he consents to officiate the wedding of Lydia and Rory on Halloween then military 20 uh fans May recognize Gorman for his roles in Pacific Rim Uprising the expanse and ghosting actor Santiago Cabrera has been added to the cast of Beetle Juice 2 for traying character Richard in the story line Richard is Lydia's former spouse and as's late father who met on his untimely end after being devoured by piranhas during an Amazonian Expedition Richard swoops in and saves the day after he reunites with Lydia and astred in the afterlife uh cabera uh previously appeared in big little lies he rose and the cleaning weighty uh uh in a short appearance Danny DeVito uh takes on the part of the gender from the afterlife who was unfortunately um killed by Dolly at the start of the film as deito boasts more than 150 acting roles under his belt including parts and Batman Returns It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Haunted Mansion aing that all portrays Jane Butterfield the determined real estate agent eager to swiftly close the deal on the winter River Property Nat can be seen at Downtown Abbey emerdale farm and New [Music] Tricks Jane lenie portrays Jeremy's mom whom he murdered before dying at the age of 23 Len's notable credits include Ready Player One D little and S of witness and Jeremy's dad whom he also killed is played by David SS uh SS is known for his roles in the bay three little birds and responder and Beetle just to Nick Kellington gives a lively portrayal of Bob who Faithfully assists Beetlejuice when Dolores or the afterlife authorities are chasing him it's Bob who steps in the more to cover for Beetle Juice and Kellington Bose rolls in Rogue one a Star Wars story lovely little farm and Star Wars the Ascension of the Skywalker in the chilly town of winter River uh Alec Baldwin played the role of Adam Matlin the prior proprietor of the alleged haunted residence uh his aim was to frighten off uh of the Deets family uh but ultimately uh he formed a bond with Lydia instead uh Lydia called in the role of a passionate film Enthusiast that rephrase it like this I as a movie buff know that Adam is the one who crafted the massive model of the winter River Town however in the sequel he seems to have disappeared from the scene an interview about the making of bees 2 its director Tim Burton clarified why Alec Baldwin won't be reprising his role he shared that he aimed to create the aresh tale without the characters played by the maitlands uh and it seems that what you meant was uh for me it wasn't about simply checking off boxes despite their significant role in the ini project I was instead concentrating on that with a different aspect he was and Baldwin is best known for his roles in Crescent City The Departed and it's complicated in the second Beetle jiz film Gina Davis didn't reprise her role as Barbara baitland Adam's spouse or Lydia stand in ghost parent following the events of the initial movie um Davis explained to people that he realizes introducing Barber back into the story uh could be problematic because in his words ghosts don't grow older um this could potentially create a plot hole um I have a feeling that ghosts don't age how would they explain that they're older more recently bis played the role of Stacy in blink twice notably she has also graced our screens in series such as Grace's Anatomy A League of Their Own and the fly in the second film Charles de's character shown as a dismembered body which leads Lydia and others to return to Winter River however unlike in the original Jeffrey River Jones did not reprise his role for Beetle Juice to uh Jones was arrested in 2002 which is why he will not be returning in Beetle Juice Beetle Juice uh and they starred and Howard the Duck Amadeus and Ferris duer day off and then I was um uh Elizabeth smells and uh and saying Beetle Juice Beetlejuice releases in theaters on September 6th
