41-21 at the half third quarter more from sterling more on the ground over 300 yards on the ground that's good for a first down and then it's back to kesten same play different guy similar result he weaves his way through the defense inside the ten down to the two yard line if it ain't broke don't fix it kested scores for the fourth time in the evening that made it your final score sterling it's one of those things where even after the game our kids excited as they were they look around and they're saying you know 35 is too many but uh the effort was great you know 35 point or 56 points for us is a lot i thought our offense flying was really good but man they stress you often defensively they did a really good job so it was a fun night it was a good football game and rock island played us really well but you know our kids are excited to come home with a w coach you're now 16-1 in the western big six and i'm gonna let you in a little secret everybody's been looking forward to game eight week eight in moline they won tonight setting up a huge battle for you guys against them what excites you about next week well i mean i think just the opportunity to be able to play in another big game like that uh is kind of the exciting part of it you know i mean i think that you know here at sterling that's just kind of the the expectation is that's where we want to be and our kids work so hard throughout you know the the off-season the summer to get to where we're at so um you know it's one of those things where these games are kind of what our kids are used to and uh you know it doesn't make it any easier we know the opponent's going to be super uh obviously motivated and they're such a good ball club you know we haven't seen a ton of them but what i have is you know they're awfully good so it should be a fun high school football game and it's kind of you know why kids play high school football is to play in big time games like this coach real quick before we let touchdown 7-6 at that point a-town wins a close one for them 18-7 mercer county looking for their third straight win hosting ridgewood in this one and the golden eagles get right to work william fredrickson going to work on the ground here he'll go 15 yards and pick up a big first down and they do cash in on the drive this time it's fredrickson to trenton coulter rolling out and finding his guy for the touchdown somewhere we'll find him eventually he'll get into the house let's check out a final score they do go for the two-point conversion they're 64-6 the final in that one rover tough start of the season things seem to be rolling in the right direction at the perfect time of year yeah uh we lost our first two of the year and then uh uh kind of been clicking here lately once district play rolled around and uh three and one in district and uh just just rolling right now coach i know you guys have dealt with your fair share of injuries this season it hasn't been easy by any means for you guys but how proud are you of these guys for powering through that adversity in spite of dealing with all those injuries this season yeah really happy with with their guys i mean right now we have 17 juniors and seniors that are healthy we started with about 26 so uh we've had some sophomores come in and step up and do some things for us on special teams and some defensive stuff and uh our our kids just work hard we got a lot of kids going both ways uh they're working hard in practice and conditioning well and they've been doing great coach i know you're back in comanche before we let you go you got that trophy now it's a sweet trophy how do you celebrate a victory like this i know you you have to wait around and talk to us on tv but when you're how do you celebrate a victory is there a meal is there what goes on to to kind of enjoy this one before you move on uh yeah we like to keep that trophy i don't plan on ever ever the celebration part of it i guess i don't know if i could can tell you everything that we do after a win like this but uh we will it will involve some some drinks and stuff like that but uh but yeah we we're excited our kids are excited uh
