Texas A&M just fired their football team's head coach Jimbo fiser and while most people would be upset about losing their job Fisher's buyout for his contract is a record $ 77.5 million that's not exactly pocket change for being told you were no longer wanted the college football coach is still one of the most prominent names in the sport but he has had quite a ride both professionally and personally over the last decade Jimbo first earned a name for himself at Florida State University where he won the BCS National Championship in 2013 and sent jamus Winston to the NFL as fsu's football coach however while he was in Tallahassee he had some wild off-field issues to deal with the main one being Fisher's divorce from ex-wife candy Fisher which involved some shocking cheating allegations against her according to former Miami Herold reporter Jose lambier candy was allegedly cheating on Jimbo with her personal trainer who turned out to be former Florida Gator's wide receiver Taylor Jacobs who is 12 years younger than she is lambier also reported that fiser had an affair with former Florida State tennis star Owen long who is 19 years younger who will forever be known for the affair instead of his efforts on the tennis court this obviously led to the two getting separated in 2015 after 22 years of marriage then finally divorced the same year and while his marriage with candy went completely downhill his professional relationship with Florida State went downhill as well as the seals didn't have the same success in the years that followed their 2013 Championship win in 2017 the team went five- six which was Fischer's First losing year as a college head coach and before that season even ended he decided to leave Tallahassee for Texas to become the Aggie's new head coach soon after his move his personal life improved when in 2021 he married his current wife Courtney Harrison unfortunately he didn't have the same success when it came to football even though he signed a 10-year contract in 2021 with $95 million and guaranteed money the Aggies had zero SEC title game appearances and just one major bowl win during Fischer's tenure in Texas overall in six seasons at Texas A&M Fisher went 45 and 25 and in the Eyes of Texas A&M athletic director Ross bjor that is simply not the success that their program demands he said in a statement after very careful analysis of all the components related to Texas A&M football I recommended to president Mark Welsh and then Chancellor John Sharp that a change in the leadership of the program was necessary in order for Aggie football to reach our full potential and they accepted my decision we appreciate coach Fischer's time here at Texas A&M and we wish him the best in his future endeavors who knows where Jimbo will go next or if he even decides to coach again either way he will continue to get paid millions of dollars as he is now getting the biggest buyout in college sports history
