Thrifting Goodwill—FAILED 3 Times, They Did Me DIRTY!👀

start your engines Mr Toad we're going Goodwill thrifting well welcome to my Series of Unfortunate Events and um yeah didn't know whether to laugh or to cry after this uh Thrift trip today I've been working with my Thrift finds um putting them online getting them ready for the shop and anyhow sit back grab some popcorn let me tell you about how this Thrift trip went well it wasn't the trip it was what came next all right so kitty cat so learned that this one still has a tag on it did the Google Lens things Yep this is a 1960s um carved resin cat it looks like a carved wooden cat pretty cool I like the aesthetic kitty cats always win um everybody loves the cats and um that wooden feel too so I thought we're going to take a gamble I think somebody will adopt the kitty trust your purpose I should have watched the sign I should have watched the signs 250 that's a nice little uh cake lifter outer cute turtles what do you call that cake it's not a cake cutter is it no it's a cake utensil you pull your cake apart with you know what I mean it's the end of the day so I'm a little burnt here all right so and plus the uner the Series of Unfortunate Events um I will tell you more in a moment so love this oh my goodness I was ready to take her home um I love the aesthetic in the front lady in the dress and then when I turned it around I'm like squealed with delight she is a planter squealed like a piggy and delight and then there's two but the first one was chipped I thought okay okay oh no you're missing your hand your fingers and a big part of your dress now here's the truth if this was just for me tell me if you would do the same but I would take this home um and I would just paint up those pieces and let it go because I'm keeping it for myself and I would love to have her with a bunch of you know a green plant coming out behind her but I'm doing resale today so we're holding ourselves to a uh a different standard here right so okay so here's one of those stained glass picture frames not a vintage one not as nice as the ones that I've been finding cute little rooster though we got vases upon vases little piece of milk glass you guys pick up milk glass cute little elephants there too so they want 450 I thought that was a little bit much so I'm like that's pushing it so let's just see what else here is here on the Shelf oh looks like you've been a fight in a fight you have got a broken neck my friend you need to like chill out take some time out and recuperate look at this rose rose gold planter it's stuck together they want 750 H I thought that's too much too much now they don't have the official Goodwill tags the barcodes um so they're doing their own pricing you know every Goodwill is different if you don't like the price you just roll on by it's pretty easy right it's like life if you don't like it just keep on going it's like a paint pour I've done many paint poures in my life it's a pretty blue one let's see what's up here here oh we got a lady right there this lady decided to uh you know what happens when you're at the thrift store you know people see me filming pushing sometimes I'm talking to myself and if I'm filming audio in the shop um or you know they they see something's going on and they're afraid you're going to get something before they do so they like to insert themselves right before my cart it is what it is it's peopley out there um but yeah that is one of the uh just pet peeves of mine I don't know I just never get in front of somebody's cart if somebody's working an area you know wait till they pass through so there you go I'm a little bit bitter today if you've only seen the horrors I've seen today all right those are cute as well I like those oh is this a piece of Carnival Glass okay so I do the little test with my finger because sometimes the eyes don't pick up things all right I will talk about more about this in a little bit but but um I don't know if you can see it on the camera do you see those edges those were sharp edges so I do know that like old factories and stuff um this was a nice piece as well they went at 750 so I wasn't ready to commit you know I'm just not ready for commitment not that much um it has to be special so um but yeah I mean I think about how is it possible that vintage glass is out there and that it has issues or you know character of some sort it didn't come out like the rest yeah cuz I know a lot of these uh glass shops and they still do it now that you know there's always an oops section so that was interesting that was um I'm guessing a carnival glass piece but it's like the mold on the edge was super sharp and anyhow I left it for that reason you know we don't want to sell dangerous goods I like that deviled eggs I've been doing this thing where I've been um you know buying bagged pre-cooked eggs because I hate the peeling process and so anyhow I got into eating them and I love them I had them today I put them with Pickles bread and butter pickles and a cold egg from the fridge and I'm telling you it makes the most wonderful Summer Afternoon Delight this looks delightful right here got a little Citrus I like this one this one's bright it's fun I'm going to peel back this masking tape it's not too sticky it's the stuff that like will peel off pretty easy look at that cute little strawberry want to check out the inside just uh you know cuz I'm truly thinking do I want to get it um I think I saw something right here do you see that I couldn't tell that was a crap crack on that little um piece that goes under or not there you go got it all right now I need to tape this back up but it's cute the strawberry the Citrus um I'm not taking it today but now look what I've done look what I've done all right I needed a second hand all right there we go she's taped back up she's going back up on the shelf for the next person to look at and we move on Matt just remembered that he left his UV light in the car the black light but I wondered if that would glow green oh look at that pie plate just thinking about pie right now yeah thinking about pie little piggy little tray you seeing anything The Best Is Yet To Come Oh no it's not oh no it's not Oh I thought it was but it was all a trick it was all a prank yeah just wait for it so how is your day bin you have to let me know okay this is the metal section here oh look at this little this is a butter dish I've been finding all kinds of butter dishes which I think are really cool we should bring back the butter dish more and more people should use them in their homes I think it's amazing I need to put my carry gold butter you know get a little dish like that I love it okay look at this over in the Halloween section two things dropped okay so first we've got a Fenton piece right here the opalescent um this is called a well the guy that I got in my hand right here I'm actually taking both of them so I'm like oh my gosh so I looked them up and um so this guy here I think it's 350 is what I paid for it this one maybe is 350 or 450 as well and uh that one's Fenton over there it's missing its little stopper but it's going for big money so I'm like okay we're going to get that um and it's beautiful blue Fenton it's got the hob nail pattern love it but it's a cruette I think they call it and it's for like oils and vinegars and things like that still gorgeous highly collectible Fenton is highly collectible this piece here I'm like oh my gosh that is a very old vintage um beautiful Glass Salt dish where you just kind of pinch the salt out of it and it's footed I love it except when I got back home when I got back home each one of the little fins the little feet of it had a chip onto it and it was small but once I got it in my light box I saw it and I was so sad that was the first thing that made me sad um you guys know by the way I'm looking at these two little curtains here I'm thinking I kind of like those um those are shower curtains and they're done like moon and star Celestial I'm like that's kind of cool I might even want it for myself for a backdrop or something to be kind of cool with or to film on top of so I'm just taking a minute's debate here so the yeah the green vintage glass salt seller has two chips on it that I did not see when I was there at the shop and the truth is and there's Matt doing the uh doing the lookup on this guy here and um yeah yeah good money that fetches good money fent and glass big collectors if you see it grab it so um that's why I like to literally try to feel things be if I'm like going to invest in something because your eyes don't always see it sometimes you're in these Goodwills they're darker and honestly it's just it's not the light to see it but the moment I get it home and I put it into my light box and then it's like you know yeah all the sins come out like you can see it all if there's any issues and I was so sad because I was taking pictures of that one today to list of my Etsy and it has um like you know they're smaller I didn't even see it with my naked eye and I nor did I feel it so you know it it got by me um but anyhow I think somebody would still want it I just I decided not to put it on Etsy because um you know I like people to be able to see if there's something that has an issue with it I want people I want to write it on the tag and for people in my shop to be able to physically make a decision when they're holding it in front of them and they can see it and go oh yeah that doesn't bother me you know like I said you can't really see it I picked it up Matt picked it up I didn't see the little chips um but it's a really pretty green little um piece and so you know but in person somebody picks it up yeah I'm going to mark it on the tag and I'm going to say hey just to let you know there's a couple little chips right here so but you know if you want it for your collection you want it for your collection so anyhow that was that's the story with that what are you what's going on and you know I should have looked at the sign here I feel like this dog was trying to give me a sign 350 he's looking at me like do you really want this I don't know I don't know look at what's in your cart are you sure are you sure be careful be careful things are not as they seem all right and then there's a few other ones here as well I do love like dogs that have interesting um I look this guy up because he look really old so the map brings this guy over here I'm like yes yes I want him he's got a mushroom he's got Critters oh my gosh look at him he's perfect right no he's not he's perfect right that's what you think 250 I mean they're playing music what could go wrong well okay right there do you see that I didn't see that there I did not see that there did you see it yeah that ain't a collar he's wearing my friend he has a broken neck the bear has a broken neck the big part of the thing yeah so today um so what I like to do is you know um spruce up my uh my Thrift findes I clean them or I Windex them Lysol them whatever I got to do and today I literally picked that up cuz I'm like okay today's batch of Fes gonna go ahead and list these guys I kid you not it was like a gaping hole okay his neck literally flipped back um like in exposing his entire hollow body it just flipped back and held on with this like yellow old glue it it was likee of a horror story like I tell you like a monster that heads just opens up and the the just the Blackness okay the hole so anyhow I was so sad I literally like just spritzed him with Windex and I wiped him and his head just flung backwards neck completely broken um and I was just beside myself like oh my gosh oh my gosh so I'm like by the way these are very old Peg fig figures as in peeg yeah Peg figures um because I guess they're made with a wooden Peg like it's just one solid inside of them so I was looking those guys up those were pretty neat as well I'd never seen I'd never uh seen them in that style before really cool so yeah so um yeah the whole yeah the music the music situation in the forest with the the mushroom yeah it's going to need to take a minute okay so then I get this one so I'll sell it my store but I have to reglue it and all that stuff and like I said so Matt finds this and this is actually considered Janette glass or is Janette glass from Janette PA which is not far from where Matt grew up so so he's very familiar with this glass and look at it right it's gorgeous it's 750 it's a higher end ticket okay but it's beautiful I can definitely double triple my money on this we're going to go with it it's gorgeous it's taped up it's awesome right like it's ready to go wrong because they did me dirty they did me dirty all right those sneaky sneaky sneaky snakes today I'm taking off the tape and there is a big chip out of it on one side underneath the tape and I wanted to cry and that was strike three we've got cracked feet we got a missing head and now we have an apple that literally has a bite out of it on the side of it three things so sad almost took this guy this is party light I like the party light candle holders when I find them about 450 it's like I don't know I could have I could have to took that one maybe I should have took that one it was metal it wouldn't have broke it wouldn't have been broken so anyhow I stri out three times today with three of my Thrift findes and so that is the reality and that is also the reality of you know this is why I have trust issues by the way let's check what's down here in the bins because out front they have all these um all these buggies and they're filled with stuff and my guess is that they just haven't had a chance to put it out yet so they just wheel it out and they literally leave it right down here at the front of the store so I'm just going to do a pick through here um but yeah that is exact why I take time and I run my fingers over the rim of things because it's like you know you can't see it with a naked eye but maybe there's something that you can pick up on you know use all your senses to make smart decisions so I feel like this might have been the smartest decision of all today because that's 350 and uh it's a finger labyrith um does anybody know what that is it's really cool it's a carved wooden um like a meditation device I would call it right just like a elaborate that you would walk in like feet this is one that you can sit down at a table and its design is based off um just a a really famous place I think it was in was in England or Ireland one of those places anyway when I listed it I took a picture of the back because it has all the information about there it is Matt's looking it up right now and literally it was going I think what is it 77 um $89 I pric mine at 65 because like I said I like to come a you know I'm not going to be a museum and I like to price lower or Beyond on the bottom end of things you know so this was pretty neat this was a gigantic piece of glass like can you imagine that filled with something for the seasons that was pretty I can't imagine shipping it but you know that's another nice piece I think this is a celery dish um that's what I've been told anyhow from when I've been antiquing that those are celery dishes literally the dish that was used to hold your celery sticks because it's fon because dishes back then they had a purpose like they all had a reason for existing and then we got some kitty cats back down here all right got a big chip on the bottom friend all right not that I would care if I was buying for myself but you know you know ideally we're not finding broken stuff out here ref finding stuff and if it has a little character and it has some chipping that's one thing if it goes with the look but if you're buying bintage glass you definitely don't want broken glass right
