I'm so excited I've never done this before it's something completely new and my main thing going out there is to soak up just every single bit of the experience it's my first par Olympics I'm going to try and you know do as much as I can make the absolute most of it and yeah just have a blast while I'm there I mean just wearing the kit is exciting and you know getting to going to the Village seeing all the sports the opening ceremony yeah I'm looking forward to it I originally didn't get in with I had to wait for a wild card and I got a phone call while I was celebrating one of my friends birthdays and he was like so so and I was like hang on I need to ring my mom let her know first but honestly it's it's another way of living it's when you finally get that call of everything you've worked for all that hard work is finally paying off well I'm expecting from the tennis side a really difficult competition um probably the toughest there's ever been especially on the single side um you know I'll have to cause probably a couple of upsets to to get on the podium there so that'll be tough but I'll give it give it my best shot and double side you know we're going in pretty confident and in good form but we know that there's going to be a few teams out there Gunn for us as well so um yeah it's going to be difficult but something that we're you know we're really looking forward to the challenge being part of the Paralympics is such a unique experience um you're there as part of a a massive team like Paralympics GB um wheelchair tennis exists in such a small a small world really um we travel so often the same people the same coaches um but to be a part of Paralympics GB is is an incredible honor um you get to see all the athletes achieving amazing things um sports that you don't get a chance to go and see um and just the buzz you know when people are bringing medals back uh you know even from day one um it's exciting it's yeah it's kind of like a once in A- lifetime that's come around five times for me yeah I've watched uh par Olympics since London um Rio was sort of the real eye opener for me watching Alfie get two Silvers there was definitely a big inspiring moment in in my life and that sort of yeah that inspired me to start playing and um yeah I'm just yeah just really excited especially from like Rio that was like a big one for me I remember watching all of those matches back um you know trying to look for some inspiration i w grew up watching Lucy and Jordan and I watched them in Rio and I to watch them in Tokyo and I was like I want to be them and now I'm actually playing doubles with Lucy the person that I was sitting on TV watching going I want to be there so to have someone with so so much experience and to be able to help guide you even when you've got them nerves and go I've been where you are and really help you it can make such a difference never did I think you know when I broke my back and I was lying in a hospital bed at 21 years old that I would be you know competing in Ro tennis um it's given me such an amazing life uh it's helped me overcome my disability in my accident presented so many challenges like every day like you strive for the 1% um to be better um but yeah it's yeah it's amazing yeah it's something difficult to to put into words really it's it's really special it's you know feels like you're not only winning it for yourself but you're contributing to a sort of bigger team and obviously for your country as well so that's something that we don't get to experience very often there tennis players throughout our season so having that opportunity once every four years is is something really special and you know something I'm really excited about [Music]
