first woman to cross the finish line today tell me about your reaction to that and tell me how how the race went for you this morning went right before I went to the line I read an article talking about um all the amazing competitors that were Towing the line today masters from all around the country and I knew I had a lot of competition so I went out at my gold pace and tried to maintain it I knew there were some people behind me that are from the area that are really strong on Hills however I've had my fair share of racing on Hills so after about the Midway point I just decided to go for it TR the pace down a little bit and it really went by in a uh this was your first Crim race right what what was your impression of the race and what's your what's been your impression of Flint so far um I love it everything um cly marked easy to get to parking situation um online looked a little crazy but once I got here everything was great everybody was friendly um was fantastic uh so you you typically travel for for race events like this uh I'd imagine being a part of the club or a part of the the team um so tell me about uh you know when you first got into racing and you know how why did you fall in love with running um well I became a runner my sophomore year of high school um I'm originally from Holland Michigan um I raced back in the 1900s for hillso college uh but then I got married had six kids took a lot of time off I came back to running when I was 33 when my oldest son decided to start running cross country and that rekindled my love for running and uh at first I was a faar weather Runner and bit by bit as each of my kids got into running all six of them um I just kind of dug down deeper and found a real connection with the running Community both locally in Fort Wayne and all around the Midwest that's amazing well thank you and congratulations thank you
